Buffalo Range
Buffalo Range, a "destination" Airbnb, is a working ranch nine miles south of Monument, Kansas. The surrounding open prairie has never felt a plow; horses and cattle occupy the pastures most of the year; native grasses, wildflowers, cacti, and succulents surround the homestead. We say we are "half way to everywhere in the middle of nowhere" because we're central to an amazing number of historic, geologic, recreational, photographic, and hunting sites. It will take you several days to see it all!

Brent & Jean's Grain Bin Inn (Barn)
This one bedroom Grain Bin converted to a tiny home in the heart of the Midwest, has all of the comforts of home! You have the entire bin to yourself, complete with a kitchenette, full bathroom. You will have to be able to climb stairs to get to the main bed, but there is a futon on the main level. The exterior faces the corral where our cattle and horse may sometimes be, and free range chickens that may roam toward you, especially if they think you have food. We may eventually add more animals!

Schaffer Old Rock House
The Old Rock House is made of native limestone and was built by my father, O.C. Schaffer upon his return to Oakley in 1946 following his WWII service in the Army Air Corp. The home has the original hardwood floors, cabinets, and most of the work wood he constructed himself. As my childhood home I have restored it as I remember it growing up. My dream for years has been to share this home and with those who will appreciate it as I do. Welcome to the Schaffer Old Rock House in Oakley, Ks.
