Vacation rentals with a kayak in Northern Neck

This was one of the best family vacations we have ever had. Charlie and Aliza were wonderful host. We brought our boat and were able to leave it in the water all week with no problems. The dock is perfect with running water and electricity. We caught crab and croaker all week from the dock. We also took our boat to the sandbar and the kids played for hours. Great place for kayaking and paddle boarding as well. Beds were comfortable and living rooms were spacious. You have water view from every room in the house. We will definitely be booking again.

We love our stay here! The house had everything we needed and more. It was easy to find, and the views were amazing. We spent the whole time outside in the nature, and we loved how quiet it was. Kevin was easy to reach for any questions we had, and we appreciated his help. We would definitely come back here in the future.

Creek Retreat is a perfect place to kick back and relax. Surrounded by nature, a private oasis. The space is well appointed, clean and comfortable. Tastefully decorated. Added amenities and attention to details elevate the experience. Enjoy kayaking and sitting by the fire. Georgia is a great hostess and is proactive and responsive. We had a wonderful relaxing vacation at Paws & Reflect! The pictures really do not do it justice! Dawn was very informative and responsive! The house was comfortable, beautiful and so clean. The game room was a blast and we enjoyed relaxing on the dock and the back patio. My little girl said this was the best vacation house ever!

Wonderful stay! I loved the home. Place was super clean and very comfy. Lots of nice touches in house. Went out for dinner one night. Options are limited unless you are willing to drive 30 minutes. Chitterchats second scoop ice cream is a great spot to hit up. It is helpful to have shoes that can stay in the water. There are bugs if wind isn’t blowing, so plan accordingly. No sand toys on property. I’d probably bring some next time for kids. The gas is not propane but charcoal, something I didn’t realize til I arrived. Saw turtles, snakes, bald eagle, deer, bunnies and even a shark sighting.

Talk about being sad 😢to leave! Sometimes a location for an air BnB just hits it out of the park, and this is a great example. We LOVED our stay and took advantage of the yard and beautiful view daily! We fished off the dock and shore. Tip, since it is tidal water as long as you are on the shore or dock you don’t need a fishing license. Our pups loved the yard and going for a swim. There are a lot of great places to eat within a 30min drive. We were on a work trip, but would love to come back when we could take advantage of everything this place has to offer. It’s a gem! The surrounding area is fun to explore if you like antiques and boutiques. We loved the local vibe! You will have a great time.

My wife is a bit of a planner so scheduling a last-minute getaway is not something I do often, but I'm so glad I did. This was exactly what we needed, A few days away from the stresses of life and family. This home met all of those needs. It was quiet, secluded and overall a very beautiful location and home. It had everything we needed and more. The small towns of White Stone and Kilmarnock offered many fantastic food options which we definitely took advantage of. I would definitely recommend this place to friends and family. We have already started looking to see if we can plan a trip here with the whole family. Thanks again to our host who was very responsive and helped answer all of our questions.

Beautiful, large home and location. Great water views from almost every room in the house! We were meeting locals for this trip so we really to know the area, great little beach at the end of the road. We saw a lot of dolphins and rays.

Joyce has done a phenomenal job with this lake house. Everything has been thought through. The house actually looks even better than the pictures. You can tell a lot of thought went into the decor. And it is super clean. The kitchen is fully stacked with everything you would need ant home or away. Ample seasoned fire wood and starter sticks makes using their MASSIVE fire pit a breeze. The best part is she gives you access to both of their docks and you will not have to take your boat or kayak out of the water once. We kayak fished Johnson’s and Lacey’s with ease from her house. 100% coming back to stay again.

We came to relax and it was successful. A cute little cottage by the river.

Janet has a unique property considering the destination is on an island... it has it's own dock which affords guests the ultimate in flexibility. It was the main reason we elected to overnight there. My son and I only had one night for the fishing trip in our own boat over father's day weekend so it was not a deal-breaker we had to book 2 nights. The simplicity of motoring up after a day on the water with all of our gear and the convenience for being up early to catch the right tide was a perfect fit. Wish we had 2 nights to stay and have better luck with the weather... and the fish, but we will be back. Thanks Janet!

We had a wonderful time here - the property is beautiful and everything was exactly as described. The kids loved the upstairs loft and we all enjoyed our evenings around the fire making smores! Gina was so responsive and made sure we had everything we needed for a great stay.

Pretty Bird Cottage was a magical place to spend a quiet few days unplugged with family. Would recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway. It’s pretty secluded, so we planned groceries on the way there rather than venturing out for most meals. Also, cell service is spotty so be sure to keep the door code instructions somewhere you can access them offline. It was a wonderful vacation!

This place was perfect for families and had everything you could want and more. We hope to come back soon!

We are two old & dear friends who needed a getaway to catch-up, and enjoy some R&R from hectic schedules. We had a short stay, but loved our time at the Haddie James House (it was perfect for us!) We felt safe, we were very comfortable and had a lot of fun shopping/eating in Gloucester (Main St) and downtown Mathews. We would definitely stay here again and add more time to our stay. We never met the hosts (just one of their sweet dogs) but trusted they would respond to us if we had questions. Beautiful property and an adorable little home. Note: We easily found the house following the hosts' instructions and GPS in the daytime. But the hosts are right about it being "tricky" to find in the dark. I was glad we arrived when the sun was shining.

This place could not be more perfect for our trip to DC. It was the perfect distance to the metro. Our group of 8 had so much space of our own, yet plenty of room to be together in the common spaces and not be on top of each other! We went in the coldest month of the year, so unfortunately we didn’t get to experience the best of what the outdoor areas had to offer but the views were breathtaking regardless. Melanie’s place was extremely clean and everything was provided and then some! Everyone in our group would like to go back in warmer months to spend more time outside. Before we got there, Melanie explained that there was an issue with one of the sinks in the cabins and said she would credit us accordingly. I thought that was great! It did not hinder or create a problem whatsoever! I hope we get to make it back sometime!

We are two families that met up for a relaxing getaway after celebrating a high school graduation. This was the perfect place. The downstairs had lots of games and a big screen for them to hook their switch up to. We watched movies upstairs. And use the well-equipped kitchen each night to make a big dinner. The kids took the kayaks and canoe out one afternoon as well. Although I would say they definitely wouldn’t swim there. Compass entertainment complex is very close and they enjoyed their time there. We also went to a movie there one night. It is a beautiful home in a peaceful setting. Especially down on the dock at night. It was very quiet. We would definitely recommend this home.

Pizza Friday was an amazing find! We spent a family reunion on the porch making pizza's in the oven. We obtained crusts from an Italian restaurant in California on our way and it proved to the perfect choice for us. We also enjoyed the dock and even caught a few crabs to show the kids. In addition we sat around the fire pit in the evenings. The beds were comfortable and everything was clean inside although we spent most of our time outside on the porch.

Incredible space! Devin’s place on the water has everything you need. It would be tight with more than two adults but it worked great for us and our small dog.

We had a wonderful, relaxing time, as always. We especially like the very tranquil, beautiful environment. Lisa's place offers a very therapeutic respite from DC. If you have one of those bird apps on your phone it will pick up the sounds of a dozen or more birds you may not often hear!

Julie's place was beautiful! Our family enjoyed the fire pit and hot tub and both the adults and young adults made great use of the game room! Julie was a great host and very proactive in asking if we had everything we needed or if there was anything she could do to make our stay enjoyable.

This property was gorgeous! The house was clean, spacious, and comfortable, and we loved relaxing on the porch and the dock. Blake was very responsive and communicated check-in/check out instructions well. The location feels serene and remote, but it is just a short drive away from a grocery store, multiple places to eat, Kings Dominion, and a local theater. The kitchen is a bit bare-bones, so be sure to bring everything you need if you plan to cook. We would love to come back in the future!
