Chalet vacation rentals in Northern Finland

We spent a family vacation in Unelma-Veska, and the place was perfect for it. The cottage was spacious, tidy and well-equipped – the kitchen had everything you needed and the sauna heated up quickly. Quiet location, but still close to services. Dealing with Ulla was quick and smooth. We highly recommend it!

Our group's week-long stay at the listing was very successful. A big thank you to Matt, who was very hospitable and thorough in all of our communication. A personal farmhouse near Suomutunturi found everything we needed. Strong recommendation :)

The apartment is exactly as beautiful as in the photos. The sauna was great to warm up in the evening after the cold icy day. The fireplace made some effort on the first evening. Unfortunately, we did not receive a response the next day, with reading through the instructions on AirBnb we did it. The bed linen costs extra. Per person 18 Euro. We are used to fitted sheets but here there were only 2 single towels for the large bed. To turn the heater up a little, you should write to the host. When we did, we didn't get a response. It was warm enough with the fireplace. However, the bedroom has always stayed a little fresh at night. Nevertheless, it is a wonderfully beautiful place to stay and we would definitely come back here.

We had a great stay in Ruka. The atmosphere was very cozy and quite. We enjoyed the free fire place and sauna. The kitchen was well equiped and big enough to cook our meals. For sure you need a car but then everything is nearby - supermarket, restaurants (the pizza at Pizzaria Ruka is very good), national park, etc. We can recommend the Airbnb!

I had such a great stay. The cabin was very cozy and it is located in the middle of a winter wonderland. Great hiking trails and skiing lopes are easy to reach. The cabin has all you need and the built-in sauna is fantastic. I can definitely recommend a stay!! Thank you!

Amazing home! Beautiful log cabin decorated with elegant atmospheric design. Very well-equipped kitchen in the cottage. The location is excellent. Great for a family with children.

Lovely little simple cottage by the lake. I was bathed in a sauna that heated up quickly and gave strong but soft steam. There is no shower in the cabin. It was clever to take a dip in the cool water from the dock. The lower floor of the bunk bed was spread out as a double bed and very sleepy. Thank you very much, I recommend it to those who want peace and enjoy the sauna.

Great location, peaceful surroundings, and just a short walk to restaurants, skiing, and slopes. The cabin was really clean and had everything you needed. We'll definitely be staying here again.

This is an ideal place to stay in Lapland. It is 20 mins drive from the airport and Santa Clause visit, so easy to reach, but also in a very quiet and idyllic location. The host is very friendly and always easy to contact. I took my daughters (8 and 11) and they loved it, especially the sledging around the cabin. Also a great spot to see the northern lights.

This was an incredible experience!! This stay and it’s host went far beyond anything we could have wished for. This place is perfect for a romantic couples holidays. The location, the cozyness, the cleanliness, the host support welcoming us and facilities for this stay were a 11/10. Basicly we would have given a 6 stars out of 5, if there was the option. A cool and well-equipped cottage near the slopes. The windows and terrace had a great view of the slopes of Vuossel. The cottage is a well-decorated and beautiful log cabin where it was nice to spend the evening after a hillside day. The beds were really comfortable to sleep on, good quality mattresses, which is one important factor in the trip. Highly recommended for this listing! The Villa was in a pristine condition by lake Vuosselinjärvi. We had a dreamy stay - amazing for a peaceful vacation in Ruka. The higlights were the Sauna, boat, fishing and swimming in the lake. I couldn’t recommend it more. Piritta was very responsive and sweet. The stores and restaurants are easily accessible from the villa. We loved it - definitely coming back next July!❤️

Our stay with two children (4 and 12 years) was wonderful. The house is in a quiet wooded area by a large lake. Within a few minutes walking distance is a Ruka Safaris pick up point. Over the lake we were walking, with skis or the sled in a short walk across the street, at the foot of Ruka. From here, you can take the skis directly up to the village center with a drag lift. The ski resort surprised us very positively. For each level it was so much fun. And along the slopes you can have a picnic and warm up at firepits in various places. The children loved baking sausages on a skewer. The house has everything to relax. And in the kitchen you can find everything to prepare meals. The hosts are very friendly and respond almost instantly. I would definitely recommend a stay here!

Top notch cottage for its price. You'll find everything you need and great views.

You can only feel completely comfortable in this very comfortable and tastefully furnished large house! Everything has a good style, everything is there - really everything: in the kitchen you can cook, bake, bake, toast - prepare everything your heart desires. The bathroom has a great drying cabinet for wet clothes, a new washing machine, and sauna and shower are optimal. Bedrooms and closet are spacious beds good. The living space is open and plenty of space. It would be ideal if wifi were available. But the most beautiful is the large soapstone stove, which - in addition to the underfloor heating - provides warmth and coziness. Wood for oven and sauna is available. The location directly on the wonderful and beautifully articulated lake (about 15 m) is ideal and offers a wonderful view. We were there in the Tiefwinter and had a snowy, quiet and nice time. Unfortunately, this time without aurora! Bring your own snowshoes, etc. Jenny described the way to us super well - there was an ice road - and went above and beyond to make sure we had a warm and beautiful welcome. She even provided a little Christmas decoration and Christmas chocolate. Jenny was directly and easily responsive to questions; she is a super host!

We felt very comfortable. The house is comfortably and cozily furnished. The fantastically located and equipped sauna house is shared with the owners, which is absolutely no problem. The whole property is well maintained and is beautifully located on a large lake. The view over the lake with northern lights is unforgettable. Exceptionally friendly landlords who go the extra mile. Jukka gave us very good tips for the area. We will be happy to come back.

Lovely cottage at a convenient location (by car). The kitchen was very well equipped, the beds were great. Loved taking dips in the nearby lake. Would recommend!

Lovely cottage! Absolutely amazing view of the lake, at each time of day 😍 So serene, and the place is wonderful too! Absolutely peaceful, loved it! (and little hint, although it's absolutely beautiful to not have reception for a few days, it really is, but if you walk up the little hill right opposite the house there's perfect network 😉) and the springwater was amazing!!

Beautiful and cozy house in the middle of nature! After a warm welcome by Harri and Tuula we had a great time in snowy Finland. We had everything we needed for a week to calm down and relax. Big recommendation!

A cottage surrounded by nature for an authentic experience. Beautiful outdoor area, the interior is very intimate and pleasant. For us, who are not used to cottage life as Finns are, it was a new and fun experience; clearly you need a spirit of adaptation, but that's also the beauty!
