Walden is located in the middle of the unique coulissen landscape of the Frisian woods. Trees, hedges and wooded borders surround the meadows. With grasslands, water, and patches of forest in between. It looks cozy, those grasslands among the trees. Smûk, we say in Frisian. As many as 250 species of birds and many other animals live here. The area also received pingos as a gift from the Ice Age. Located in the middle of 2 national parks: Lauwersmeer and the Alde Feannen. Ideal cycling and hiking area.

We would like to welcome you to our sustainable and smoke-free bed & breakfast on the water! Apartment Grutto is located on the 2nd floor and can accommodate up to 4 people, with living room/kitchen with sofa bed, separate bedroom and bathroom. A fantastic place to relax and enjoy the sky view from the bed in any weather. Rural and yet also close to the village. Horseback riding is not possible, but petting and visiting is of course possible!
