Cabin vacation rentals in Muskegon River

We loved the property of this cabin. It was beautiful and well maintained. The river was one of my favorite spots to read or have my morning coffee. There were many perks and amenities to this place that weren't listed online, like hammocks, campfire pokers, blow-dryer, yard games, fire pit, folding chairs, plastic storage containers, etc. And I loved all the buffalo plaid decor all around. The signs and decor were really nice too, So much to look at. My family had plenty of room inside the cabin to sleep and have their own space. There was also lots of outdoor seating and space outside on the property to come together for dinner or games. Nina was very responsive and gave clear instructions for entering and leaving the property. She was polite and made our stay pleasant. We would stay at this property again.

We enjoyed our stay at this cozy cabin in the woods! The hot tub was perfect to relax and enjoy the nature around. We seen several deer on the property. The house was accommodating and had all the basics. We appreciated the firewood as the days and nights were chilly and we love to cook on the fire. Communication with the owners was easy with quick responses.

We had a nice time at this little cabin! It’s a loved and cared for space, and the hosts are very communicative and helpful. They were also very gracious and flexible when we asked if it would be ok to check in a little early, which really helped us out! Two things to note, just as an FYI for others as they plan a trip and decide if this cabin aligns for their vacation plans/style, the cabin and outside space are located within maybe 150-ft of a fairly well traveled backcountry highway. If some traffic noise while you’re outside bothers you, keep this in mind! It’s very private in terms of neighbors. Also, be sure to have a little extra time set aside to take care of the additional rental agreement & security deposit while you are confirming your reservation. If those two items are fine by you, then go for it on staying here! The bathtub & hot tub are particularly luxurious. Kitchen is great. And be sure to check out the short hiking loop at Bowman Lake nearby. It’s lovely!!

Jessica was an amazing host. She is extremely responsive and was also very accommodating. The whole process for our stay was seamless from check in to check out! I would highly recommend Jessica and this stay for large groups looking for a peaceful getaway with a beautiful scenery. Also, the wildlife and nature was so cool to watch and listen to. Host was very responsive and had great recommendations! This was our first time in MI and didn’t know what to expect about the Saugatuck/Oval Beach area but the location of this place was awesome—all the sites/downtown Saugatuck/Oval Beach less than 12 minutes away! Home was cozy—kitchen well-stocked and beds very comfortable. Would recommend bringing your own water or water pitcher with filter—we weren’t used to MI water—not the best tasting. And would bring your own coffee-maker—if they replace current one in the kitchen, great! Keurig part of coffee-maker was broken and we alerted the host—carafe worked fine but pretty slow to brew. Would stay here again!

What a beautiful cabin! My husband and I were looking to get away for a few days and enjoy a cozy, private place! This home checked all of our boxes! Very nicely kept, home was orderly, comfortable and had everything we needed. The hot tub was perfect as it snowed the day after our arrival and was peaceful and serene! We were able to start a fire in the fireplace and enjoyed relaxing on the comfy sofas! Huge soaker tub in upstairs bathroom and plenty of bedrooms and a fun basement area! The perfect setup! We will have to bring some friends back with us next time- tons of room for several guests to enjoy! We dined at several local restaurants (within a 10 minute drive) that were delicious and spent some time on Water St for shopping, food, and brews! A must-stay place!

Nice cabin in the woods. Hot tub works but could use a new control panel. Inside is what we expected and more. Comfy beds. two fire pits outside. if you have small kids like us be aware there is a steep drop around one side and partly behind the cabin thats pretty close to fire pit. If i decide to stay near baldwin or go hunting the state game area i will deffinitly be back here. not the cleanist place but for the price im not even gonna conplain. wasnt terrible but could have been dusted and swept up a little more. i just grabbed the broom in the bathroom and used the shark vaccum on arrival and when we left. its not nasty dirty so dont take me the wrong way. for the price conpared to similar cabins and what we got out of it i feel its worth it by a long shot. The Buffalo cottage was the perfect relaxing getaway. The grill and fire pit were incredibly user friendly and the hot tub was beyond perfect. Ben was incredibly sweet truly thought of everything surrounding the perfect AirBNB stay!

This stay was exceptional. A perfect place to relax and unwind. The lofted bed was very comfortable, the kitchen was incredibly well appointed, and of course access to a top-of-line hot tub doesn’t hurt. We also loved using the blackstone. The whole cabin was thoughtfully built, decorated and maintained. We loved having a coffee/drink on the upper dock overlooking the river every morning and evening. Easy access to the river. Walking the neighborhood felt akin to a nature reserve. 10/10 stay, we hope to return many times

This was our second stay at the Peacock Trail cabin with our 2 dogs and it was better than the first! We previously stayed before the cottage was rebuilt and we loved it then but the rebuilt cottage is phenomenal! It’s spacious, open and plenty of all that you’d need. The best part? The trails!!!! You could go multiple times and take a different path each time. What makes them even better? The dog bowls at every corner of the trail and clearly marked with decals and signage. It’s impossible to get lost! Our dogs had a blast with every new trail we took. Everything is very well maintained. We had a fabulous time!

We spent a couple days exploring Double JJ Ranch and Robert’s house was about 7-10 minutes from the ranch. Perfect location for us! It was a great house to rent.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Yellow Door Lodge! The place is beautifully designed — cozy, stylish, and thoughtfully put together in every corner. It felt like a perfect home away from home. Rex was incredibly responsive and went out of his way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. His warm hospitality truly made a difference and added to the overall experience. Our dog, Puntu, had a great time too — it’s such a pet-friendly spot! He enjoyed exploring and relaxing just as much as we did. The lakeside area was a highlight. We spent some peaceful time there soaking in the view, and it added to the whole relaxing vibe of the trip. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a peaceful, well-designed getaway with great hosts!

This was our 3rd time and already to book again we love this place . I grew up in small town just like this . We hope to have the place again next year . Thanks Pam .

So happy with our stay! So many trout to see in the river, and even though there's a neighbor nearby, it felt so secluded. Amenities were great, and Jordan was very quick to respond to any questions we had. Highly recommend!

We had a great stay! It was peak fall foliage and 70 degrees. The cottage was perfect, nestled right on 3 private acres which made it the perfect child free weekend getaway. We enjoyed the sauna, the fire pit and the sounds of nature. Robin was very responsive and helpful! If you're looking for rest and relaxation I would recommend The Acorn!

Our stay in Cabin #2 (or as our son called it "Our Green House) was spectacular. The home was just right for a family of four (two adults and two children 3 and under). It was very clean. There were more than enough towels and other essentials + extras (soap, toilet paper, spices to name a few). The access to the beach was perfect - far enough that I didn't feel it unsafe for the kids to wander to, but still SO close. There are also good kid-proof locks on the screen doors. There was a playset as well where our oldest made friends a few evenings who were staying at the other cabins. A few notes (which are not really complaints at all, just to be more informative): -the wifi was a bit spotty , but usually we could reconnect within a few minutes if it dropped off. -the cabins are located down a dirt road with a few dips. -the rooms can get a little warm at night with the doors closed on the hotter days, however a fan was provided to help the air move and cool down the rooms.

Everything I hoped for! It was a perfect get away for my dog and myself. During the day we kayaked, sun tanned on the beach, play fetch, grilled, fire, and most importantly relaxed. The host is kind and quickly responds. The bed is so comfortable especially because I have back issues. Everything is organized, neat, thoughtful and clean. Nice hot shower with plenty of extra supplies if you forgot something. We enjoyed going to Steve’s country market for meat and Up North coffee shop, I recommend both. I enjoyed our time so much we made memories that will last a life time. We hope to be back again soon. 💕

Croton House is a wonderful, comfortable, relaxing place to stay. The deck over looking the lake is perfect. We had a great time in the lake using the provided kayaks. It is the perfect lake to kayak on if you you are a novice like me. We really enjoyed swimming in the lake, as well. I did not notice in the description that it is important to bring water shoes, I may have missed that. We were able to buy some in town but had we known, we would have brought them from home. Be sure to bring them if you plan to go in the lake, which I highly recommend (so refreshing). We loved staying here and would request to book it again if we ever find ourselves in the area again.

Had a wonderfully relaxing and peaceful stay at the Fox Den with my fiancé and our dog ❤️. The weather took a bit of a turn but we still made the most of our stay: fishing, walking around nearby trails, cooking on the campfire, reading on the front porch with the birds chirping in the background. When it did start raining, the electric skillet more than met our cooking needs. Overall, we spent the weekend rejuvenating and soaking in the peaceful and natural beauty around us, and the Fox den was perfect for this!

Bryan’s place was probably the best Airbnb that my family and I have stayed in thus far, hands down! The private lakeshore has the ability to make you forget all of life’s problems. Additionally, there’s plenty of space at the secluded cottage for a small group (a family in my case), the kitchen literally has more than enough essentials items for meal preparation, AND there’s a wholesome abundance of other amenities such as a washer and dryer, WiFi, etc. Plus, it’s 100% kid friendly in my personal opinion. The only, and I mean only issue, was the cellular reception. I used the WiFi calling feature on my iPhone and it allowed me to make and receive calls most of the time. However, that had zero bearing on my 5-state rating because it’s not something that the host could control. Bryan, thanks for an awesome stay 👊🏽 . I’ll be back to visit again!
