This cosy Finnish cottage was lovingly imported and built by its owner. On the first level is a fully equipped kitchen and dining area and a cozy lounge room with a stone fireplace at its heart. Off to the side is a generous sized bathroom. Up the stairs is a mezzanine level which has 2 areas separate by a curtain. There is a master bedroom area with a double bed, hanging space and chest of drawers. On the other side of the curtain is a bedroom nook with 2 single beds. Outside are 2 verandas.

Located 13km from Dunkeld, the southern gateway to the Grampians, and 20km from Hamilton. Megan and Tim’s place was peaceful, well appointed, and wonderfully clean. It looked exactly like the photos and you could tell that each interior decision was intentional and considered. From the beautiful induction stove top to the soft bedroom linens, this space was made to be admired and lived in. Megan was responsive and even allowed an earlier check in time, which we appreciated. Thoughtful touches throughout the house added to the aesthetic but also had purpose, and we particularly enjoyed the indoor fireplace, selection of teas, cosy towels, heated bathroom flooring, and provided breakfast basket. Thank you for allowing us to spend time in your beautiful Airbnb- we definitely will not forgot this experience!

Besutiful, spacious but cozy cottage in the a lovely town. The house offered everything you need for cooling and comfortable evenings in front of the fireplace. Great hikes just a couple of minutes from the house. The town has a delicious bakery and good restaurants. We loved the cottage and will be back for sure.

Diane was an absolute delight as a host! It was such a bummer that our trip to Dunkled was cancelled at the last minute. Diane was genuinely worried about us and tried her best to reach out and check on us. She even went above and beyond to help us make the trip happen, but unfortunately, it wasn’t possible. It was a real shame, but we really appreciated Diane’s kindness and thoughtfulness. We’ll definitely make sure to visit her place next time we’re in town!

Dunkeld Secret Garden & Grampians Peaks Trail End

We have stayed here before in April of 2024. March 2025 proved equally as pleasurable. You cannot beat Kangaroos/wallabies visiting you at the house daily and putting in an appearance in the back garden. It particularly impressed my sister who was visiting Melbourne from UK. There's more! A bottle of wine with lunch or dinner on the back deck, watching all sorts of birds in the trees. Local walks, mountains to climb, restaurants to visit. Art and Craft shops are also in the main street. The old bakery beckoned too, the bread was straight out of the oven. They do a full breakfast as well! Even a drive to Port Fairy is a good trip out for the day. There is so much more but that would be for you to explore and find out. As a thought, you could also do NOTHING and totally enjoy just being in that wonderful peaceful cottage surrounded by the sounds and smells of the countryside.
