Kizingo Eco Lodge

TamaraRating, 5 stars6 months ago
I had a wonderful stay at the Kizingo Eco Lodge, I was completely thrilled and can really recommend it! The staff was very warm and helpful. The lodge is located at the end of the 12km long beach and is surrounded by dunes. The beach is very beautiful, quiet and you can swim there even at low tide. The restaurant and cabanas are all unique and beautiful, full of attention to detail and everything is locally made. Night Sky was very airy, large and had lots of pretty niches to linger in. The bathroom was also very large and beautiful. The food was excellent and the cook surprised me with delicious, creative vegan meals. Nicola built the lodge so consciously and sustainably, there were wonderful, locally produced natural care products in the bathroom. The lodge can be either reached by boat or by motorbike from Shela along the beach in 15min (KSH 1000 only one way), so that it's easy to go there just for the day, have a wonderful meal and cool drinks at the beach underneath the shade.

Green room in Ndege Beach House with pool

LouiseRating, 5 stars4 months ago
Ndege Beach House was the perfect place to relax for a few days after a long stay in Shela - a very peaceful spot right on a gorgeous stretch of beach overlooking Shela. Beautifully designed and very comfortable- we slept so well here! We enjoyed being able to wake up and tumble into the sea- but also enjoyed the lovely swimming pool. The staff were so kind and helpful - we had some lovely meals. The internet was great- we were working remotely and there are plenty of areas to hide away. Suzanne was very friendly and helpful. Thank you!

JamboHouse Lamu - self-contained, ground floor

SarafinaRating, 5 stars4 months ago
I had a fantastic stay at this accommodation! It was spotless and perfectly located for exploring Lamu. Arnold, the host, is incredibly friendly and always willing to help. He even created his own map of Lamu, highlighting the best restaurants, supermarkets, ATMs, attractions, and other useful tips. He can also organize any type of excursions, which is really convenient. Arnold is very communicative and truly dedicated to making your stay enjoyable. The rooftop area is perfect for relaxing, and the breakfast included in the price is amazing. I highly recommend this place and will definitely return when I'm in Lamu again.

Starfish: En-suite room in a boutique villa, Shela

lindaRating, 5 stars3 months ago
I don’t usually write reviews, but my 2 week stay at Amani House was exceptional. Livia went above and beyond to help, and the staff Elina & Phill were warm, attentive, and professional. The place is tastefully designed, peaceful, and has everything you need for a perfect stay. The chef’s (Martin) food was outstanding, especially the delicious fish curry, which I highly recommend. Surrounded by nature, the only sound is birdsong, creating a serene and relaxing atmosphere. I felt safe, well cared for, and completely at ease, making it ideal for solo travelers. With a stunning beach nearby and the village just a short walk away, it’s the perfect retreat. Highly recommended!
