“We stayed here for 2 nights while we explored the Appalachian Trail and other local sites. Pam and Walter were so kind and thoughtful. They had snacks and drinks waiting for us on arrival. Due to Covid concerns, they left the property open so no need for face to face check-in, although I was very happy to meet them both over the bushes. This is a small property, but they had everything we needed, plus more. The kitchen and bathroom are well stocked with amenities. We spent most of our time on the front porch, sipping wine and listening to the babbling brook that borders their property. To sum it up... if we are ever back in this beautiful area of CT, we will stay here!”
Enjoy the sunset from the Adirondack chairs on the serene front porch of this sunny and comfortable 4 bedroom home set in a peaceful rural setting. Bring family or friends and cook together in the fully stocked kitchen or explore the nearby hiking trails, ski mountain and local wineries. Or spend the day at the house playing games in large yard, take a nap on the couch or read a book on the back patio. All just 2 hours from New York City.
“Dave and Susan’s place is gorgeous!! Very clean and modem design, love all the details. Lots of fun toys in the playroom, saved us lots of time from taking care of the kids! :) The backyard is also so lovely! We lived here for one month, my older boy was sad and even crying before we leave! We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back(My older son keep asking me if we will be able to come back!) It’s one of the best value in Connecticut!! :)”
The cozy "Guest Suite" at the Perkins Homestead has it's own private entrance; Enjoy the feeling of the history at the antique 1847 farmhouse with wide plank floors; working fireplace; cozy living room with large screen TV, coffee maker and under counter refrigerator; King size bed (With enough notice I could provide an air mattress for a 3rd person); Views of a dirt road that meanders through the original "Homestead" farmland; take a walk or just hang out in front of a fire.
“The Perkins Homestead is perfectly located to explore several small towns and do as much hiking as you would like. Peter is a phenomenal host and went above and beyond with anything we asked. He responded immediately and was extremely kind even though all my inquiries were about the town or wants never dealing with the homestead. He provides a history of the home and many wonderful touches. The bed is also extremely comfortable. We only stayed 3 nights but wish we had stayed longer. Even though this Airbnb has no kitchen and only a small fridge, there are endless restaurants to visit and enjoy. I highly recommend.”
