Cottage vacation rentals in Mitchell County

Our family was gathering for my Nieces graduation from ETSU and it was our first time being all together in 6 years. The Dogtrot was so spacious in all areas allowing us to be able to play games and eat all together. We even had a competitive game of wiffle ball in yard. We utilized all the amazing amenities the hot tub, sauna, outdoor fireplace and played games at the outdoor table. Oh and I can’t forget the serious matches of ping pong that took place in the enclosed breeze way. We only had a couple of issues the instructions for the wood fired hot tub were no where to be found but Jason responded quickly providing instructions and the oven wouldn’t work which did cause issue with family dinner but again Jason/Brent were very apologetic and worked with us since we ended up having to leave a day early. We hope to come stay again for a longer period of time!

This was my third stay at Rosa's home and it is always a pleasure and positive experience. Great location with nearby restaurants and activities!

My husband and I, and our 4 children (ages 4-13), had the best time and made some wonderful memories that will last a lifetime at this gorgeous mountain retreat. The Mountain View’s were breathtaking, the generous porch and comfy patio furniture made it that much more enjoyable. The sauna and hot tub are in a private nook of the lot right next to the house and really make this place feel like your own little resort. At night you can see fire flies from the hot tub! The outdoor fire pit added to the charm and was perfect for a s’mores night! I usually don’t sleep well when we travel but I slept like a baby on the cotton sheets and comfortable mattress in the master. The house had everything listed and more! We’re considering booking for next year already.

Our son has been at Lenoir-Rhyne University for the last 5 years. We stayed at Hilary's a few years ago when visiting and have come back again for his graduation. The first thing we did when booking our trip was to check that Hilary's place was available so we could stay here again. We can't recommend this place enough - it has everything you could need and the area is fantastic.

Nice quiet spot walkable to downtown Weaverville. Easy drive to Asheville. Jay's instructions were super simple and easy to understand. I appreciate his communication and assistance!

Place was great. It is a perfect spot for a quiet romantic getaway, very private and relaxing. I do recommend making sure you bring everything you need, grocery/drug stores are about thirty minutes away, but that is a small price to pay for the privacy/peace/quiet that you will get. There are hiking spots galore within a 15-20 minute drive. Not much else I can add. I give it five stars and would highly recommend.

I loved staying in the river cottage! Loved the porch by the river and lots to do in the area. The host was very responsive and check in and out was a breeze. Would highly recommend this property if you’re looking for a peaceful getaway!

I have to admit that I am not the best at writing reviews after staying at airbnbs, but this one was especially great for our family. We were traveling with our baby and 2 dogs, and we found the space very peaceful and well suited for us. I loved their fence for the dogs and the way the bedroom and living area is situated. Would highly recommend and will be coming back!

We enjoyed our stay here. It was a great location for getting around Asheville. The house was clean and roomy enough for our family of 5.

We enjoyed our stay in this cute little cabin. We were sad the weather was too cool to enjoy the screened in porch, because it was a cute little area. This cabin was near the end of the road, so it was quiet. There are places close by, but the thick vegetation makes it feel secluded. This was a great place for a holiday weekend, with places to go and restaurants to eat at within an easy distance.

Great cozy cottage. Loved the trail to walk my dog. The place was very clean . The host was extremely responsive. All around a great place to stay.

We absolutely love all of DJ’s properties, but especially this one. Centrally located to anywhere you want to be in the High Country. 10 minutes to Blowing Rock & Boone. We love!

My husband, dog and I stayed here and absolutely loved it! The house was very cute and our dog loved running around the fenced in back yard. It was a quick 10 minute drive to downtown and we loved the restaurants and coffee shops in West Asheville.

Thank you to Tami for letting us book her house for the time we did! It really helped my father out in the aftermath of hurricane Helene. The house is very cute, and has really neat vintage appliances (I love the old fridge!). The area is quiet, the Internet works well, and the house has everything needed for a comfy stay.

My husband and I just spent 3 glorious days at this charming cottage and it was a wonderful experience! The cottage was exactly as depicted in the photos and as described in the listing. In fact, the kitchenette proved more than adequate for preparing a meal! While we did opt for dining out, I think the next time we visit, I will plan a meal or two. The kitchenette was fully-equipped with pots, pans, utensils and dishware and the freezer in the mini-fridge can easily accommodate a bag of ice (fabulous for me as I’m an Iced Tea aficionado)! Situated in the heart of Burnsville, the cottage is very close to fine restaurants, an ice cream shop and coffee shops … each within walking distance. Jennifer was so gracious and attentive to our questions and was always quick to respond. The rental was peaceful and I enjoyed staying in one afternoon just to indulge in watercolor painting. Book a stay at this charming cottage!

I had a wonderful stay at Robert's place. Such a beautiful setting. I loved sitting on the deck listening to the creeks. Will definitely stay again when I'm in the area.

We enjoyed our stay, all the beds were comfortable, there were plenty of towels for both showering and using the hot tub. Really enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit and hearing the cows moo every day. Very close to the town of Burnsville and only 30th minutes from Asheville which was very nice.

Host was super communicative and made the check-in process easy. The place was exactly what we were looking for—clean, quiet, and comfortable!

Beautiful home with a beautiful view and such a well kept house. We were shocked with how nice the home was and the view. The people that we talked to were so sweet and friendly aswell. I cannot wait to come back next year!
