Super friendly and helpful host who walked us from the train station to his gorgeous house for easy orientation. You will fall asleep to frog sounds in a cozy clean bed and wake up to a sunny balcony. Very easy to feel welcome here, thank you!

Even though we arrived late at 21:00, they greeted us with a smile and a warm welcome. It was very helpful for us to boil the bath again right away and wash our dirty clothes by cycling. The next morning breakfast was also grilled and served locally caught fish.

Fulfilling an adult's solo trip NOMAyado/room W (ocean view)

SylvainRating, 5 stars1 week ago
This accommodation is a surprising and unusual place on the other side of the world. We loved it! It depends on what kind of traveler you are. This is a beautiful place with beautiful architecture. This is a place where art is present, like a gallery, a library, a little bohemian but everything is impeccable. It's the sea, the seaweed farmers next door. Around it is a quiet village with disused structures that give a movie atmosphere. It's a real favorite! The host welcomed us with a matcha. He was involved and discreet. We even bought them a work of art. For travelers looking for original experiences and atmospheres. For those who want to take a break from mass tourism.

Coconuts Traditional Japanese Wooden Townhouse

Natsu is a great host, si friendly and helpful. His house is beautiful, old style Japanese, tatami mats, shower and Japanese toilet. Effective air conditioning. We enjoyed his company and all ate together on our final evening. He helped with our travel arrangements and also lent us his bicycle which was really great as my daughter was touring with her bike but I didn't have one. Wakayama is an interesting and pretty coastal town, and we visited the original soy sauce brewery (thoroughly recommended), Wakayama Castle, lacquerware shops and ate local monja (a type of okonomiaki) and also the best pork ramen in Japan! Well worth a visit if you like to see places that are a little off the beaten tourist track.

[Akari: Private room for up to 2 people] Relax in a 100-year-old house

JanelleRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Had a 2 night stay at Orimetei and absolutely love it. Firstly I want to commend Ms Azusa, the host for providing excellent service. She speaks good English, extremely helpful and friendly. She had helped me with taxi arrangement and coordination. Even patiently explaining the house and breakfast arrangements. Secondly, the renovated 100 year old Ryokan is very comfortable. The place is clean and spacious. I had the luxury of having the place to myself as there were no other guest during my stay. At time of stay, I was welcomed by the blooming of the Azalea flower 🌺. It’s very relaxing, calm and peaceful. Nutritious Breakfast is provided and coupled with the amazing garden view, I couldn’t ask for more. Lastly, the house is located about 15 min walk away from Sadamitsu station. While it’s located in a quiet and safe neighbourhood, it isn’t that convenient if carrying baggages. But this is the least of a problem as the above feats the location. Definitely worth it!
