Mitsuka, authentic Japanese style guest house

RachelRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We had a great stay at Mitsuka with Yukiko. Her home was warm and welcoming. The bedroom was especially nice with traditional tatami floors and futon beds, plus AC which we were very grateful for. Yukiko cooked us a delicious breakfast, and also gave recommendations for renting surfboards.

This accommodation is a surprising and unusual place on the other side of the world. We loved it! It depends on what kind of traveler you are. This is a beautiful place with beautiful architecture. This is a place where art is present, like a gallery, a library, a little bohemian but everything is impeccable. It's the sea, the seaweed farmers next door. Around it is a quiet village with disused structures that give a movie atmosphere. It's a real favorite! The host welcomed us with a matcha. He was involved and discreet. We even bought them a work of art. For travelers looking for original experiences and atmospheres. For those who want to take a break from mass tourism.

A scenic view of a traditional-style building set against a backdrop of an overcast sky. A stone pathway leads across a grassy area, flanked by sparse vegetation. The surrounding structures display a mix of architectural styles typical of the region's historical context.

This is my first time staying here. I suddenly decided to travel and it was also high season When I was about to give up on a place that didn't have much availability, The host's responsiveness and consideration I had a better time I did it. The future rehabilitation of the host who has just been discharged from the hospital and his son who is taking the university entrance exam I also have a daughter who is taking the high school entrance exam, so timing is difficult, but It has become a place I definitely want to visit again. Thank you again for everything. I will definitely go again.

[Akari: Private room for up to 2 people] Relax in a 100-year-old house

JanelleRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Had a 2 night stay at Orimetei and absolutely love it. Firstly I want to commend Ms Azusa, the host for providing excellent service. She speaks good English, extremely helpful and friendly. She had helped me with taxi arrangement and coordination. Even patiently explaining the house and breakfast arrangements. Secondly, the renovated 100 year old Ryokan is very comfortable. The place is clean and spacious. I had the luxury of having the place to myself as there were no other guest during my stay. At time of stay, I was welcomed by the blooming of the Azalea flower 🌺. It’s very relaxing, calm and peaceful. Nutritious Breakfast is provided and coupled with the amazing garden view, I couldn’t ask for more. Lastly, the house is located about 15 min walk away from Sadamitsu station. While it’s located in a quiet and safe neighbourhood, it isn’t that convenient if carrying baggages. But this is the least of a problem as the above feats the location. Definitely worth it!
