Luxury 4 Star Cosy Lakeland Cottage

NicolaRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We stayed at Simon and Belinda's place for a week and it was exactly what we needed. Fantastic location for walks and food. The Wainwright's Inn is only 0.2 miles away. Great food and local ales on your doorstep. The cottage is cosy, the kitchen is well equipped and the information provided was very thorough and useful. There are some books in the house they have prepared to show various walks and local recommendations. We did some of these walks and our 5 year old enjoyed every second! We took advantage of the leisure facilities at The Langdale. This was a great addition to the cottage! Really recommend if you want a place near to town locations, walks and local pubs/cafés/restaurants.

Lakeside Barn w/ fantastic views & Hot-Tub

KarenRating, 5 stars3 months ago
We arrived on the Friday for a 3 night stay. The Barn is in a beautiful place inside and out. The Hot Tub was lovely on an evening and the patio fire was great to sit around for drinks early evening watching the Sun go down. Casterton village is only a couple of miles from Kirkby Lonsdale. The village its self had a gorgeous pub 7 mins walk from the Barn which had a great range of food and served Sourdough pizza on Sunday evening after 1700hrs with a lovely warm atmosphere and open fires. There is a great taxi service and some fabulous restaurants near to the Barn. The Black Bull and the Highwayman were fabulous. (We did go to Number 9 also and it was not somewhere I could recommend, service and food really poor.) Patrick and Anika were great responsive hosts and this is a do not miss property, that offers every you need for a fabulous stay. Our little group loved it. Thank you Karen, Denise and Naomi

Chestnut Cottage - Bay views, hot tub & log burner

SarahleeRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Wonderful 5-night stay at Chestnut Cottage after Rob completed the Great Glen Way & West Highland Way in 6 days! @freemanwalking on YouTube 😀 The hot tub was a real treat for soothing sore muscles. Stunning bay views made the cottage the perfect place to relax. The bed was super comfy, and we loved the little extra touches like the soft robes and complimentary tea, coffee, and milk. Just a short, scenic walk along the promenade to the village for supplies. The weather wasn’t the best, but the cosy cottage more than made up for it. Highly recommend! Thank you Gemma

Fell Cottage, Staveley

ErinRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We had a wonderful stay at Morven's. The cottage itself was beautiful and contained everything that we needed. The sauna was a unique addition! Everything had been considered and the small touches, such as the fresh herbs and the treats for the dogs really made us feel at home. Our hosts were quick to respond to a phone call and incredibly attentive to our needs. The village of Staveley is a hidden gem and we made good use of the Eagle & Child pub and the outrageously good bakery, More. I would highly recommend this stay and hope that we can return ourselves!

Lovely cottage, very clean and decorative. Great location just a short drive to lovely walks and other villages. Co op and SPAR across the road, or ASDA express 10 mins away. Very dog friendly my 2 border collies loved it. Road can be busy and noisy but quiet at night. Managed to park safely on the road a few metres up with no restrictions or outside the cottage 6pm - 8am. Lee is an excellent host very helpful throughout our stay. Highly recommend.

Fernbank Cottage for 3, South Lakes

JoRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
My husband, daughter, puppy & I have just stayed here for a long weekend. Nick the host was very helpful & Informative. The cottage was perfect for us, spacious, warm & comfortable. All the additional supplies like toilet rolls etc were an added bonus. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the local amenities. There are plenty of walks and scenery to visit in the area, shame the weather let us down a bit but we made the most of it anyway. We visited the local pub The Malt Shovel and well worth going, the food was delicious and home cooked, lovely family community.

Stunning views and own garden in private cottage

LaurenRating, 5 stars6 days ago
Barn Cottage exceeded our expectations. Set in the most beautiful landscape. The cottage was clean, cosy, had everything we needed and more (games room with lots of games, books and a football table!) and the private garden was just stunning. My friend and I went to do the 3 peaks so was the great location not far away from the start point to rest and recover! The icing on the cake was meeting and feeding the cute Pygmy goats and chickens. Loved our stay, would 100% stay again

One Zero Nine, Warton, Lancaster

109 is a stunning cottage with a beautiful garden, which the hosts are rightly proud of. Claire was super helpful and communicative, even picking us up from and dropping us back to the train station on arrival and check out. She had also baked us some delicious vegan brownies and the bottle of Gavi was most welcome. The cottage is everything you could need/want for a few days away. The weather was mixed during our stay, so the cozy woodburner in the lounge was perfect for those chilly nights. We've stayed in a fair few Airbnb's and this is definitely one of the best! Claire & John really are the ideal hosts and nothing was too much trouble for them. We're sorry to hear that they have plans to sell the property and move on, as we'd have loved to stay there again in the future, or recommend to family/friends. We wish Claire & John every happiness in their future ventures. Thank you for a wonderful stay xxx

Slightly overpriced due to location . However the accommodation was first class. Slight disappointment that th Restaurant / Pub next door was not open untill the Wednesday ( the day before we leave) . For anyone booking it is 20 minutes to Bowness/ Windermere on a good day (traffic permitting). Sun and Mark have gone to a great deal of trouble to provide information on local places to visit and how to get there and local eating places which were great

Sunny Cottage with Stunning Views

DebbieRating, 5 stars2 months ago
Beautiful property, really felt home from home as soon as we stepped inside. Lovely touch with the welcome tray and the dog bedding and blankets. Comfortable and peaceful despite being close to road. Garden is very secure although not directly accessible from the house. Upside down property, so views from living room are lovely - bathroom and bedrooms downstairs. The recommended walk up the hill behind is well worth doing - stunning views! Also Arnside is well worth a visit (fish and chip shop is amazing) and the food at both Levens Hall and Strickland Arms (both very dog friendly) is fantastic. Property has everything you could possibly need and is nicely away from the busiest parts of the Lake District while still being close enough to be very accessible. Definitely hope to be back.

Tree Cross Cottage

Tree Cross cottage is very comfortable, thoughtfully furnished, clean and well maintained. Clare, the host, is very responsive. She provided detailed guidelines and good local recommendations too. The location is good to travel around Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District. Most places we visited whilst staying here were 20 to 50 mins away by car - lakes, waterfalls, caves, scenic walks, farms, museums. Kirby Lonsdale, the nearest town at 5 mins driving distance, is very charming and scenic too.

Peppermint Cottage, Heart of Kendal

CharlotteRating, 5 stars5 days ago
Such a beautiful home from home, we had a lovely stay here. It was a great base for the Lake District challenge. The home had all the added extras which you don’t usually have in an airb&b. A full cutlery drawer etc. The beds were super comfy. If we ever visit the lakes again we would be sure to stay here. The only slight negative to mention is car parking. The space is on a tight bend and we have a large car. But this shouldn’t put anyone off from staying just a little bit of extra info.
