Thistledown Farm's Sheep Shed Cottage

JoelRating, 5 stars9 months ago
Beautifully rustic, quiet and charming! We booked Penny’s place because we were looking for a rustic stay. The weather in September was ideal for this indoor/outdoor space. Fully stocked kitchen, and loads of space for dining and relaxing. We lucked out and didn’t have anyone else staying on property while we were, and I will say it’s a bit of a fishbowl, so if you’re looking for privacy, it’s not here. We had a superb time!
A serene landscape features a charming white house with a sloped roof, framed by colorful fall foliage and a picket fence. A wooden bench sits invitingly in a garden area, surrounded by blooming plants and shrubs, while the sky is partly cloudy.

Charming 5BR Waterfront Cape-15 ac

MelindaRating, 5 stars22 months ago
We rented The Cape for my husband and I, plus our adult children and their families. This is a very home-like rental, surrounded by beautiful grounds and right on the river. It was exactly what we expected for an 1880’s east-coast home; it reminded me of my grandmother’s property. Melissa is a very enthusiastic and caring host. This is the perfect rental if you are looking for a charming old home with lots of character, privacy, nature, and active outdoor options.
A charming exterior view of the barn-studio is showcased, featuring shingled grey walls and a peaked roof. Lush green trees and flowering bushes surround the structure, enhancing the natural setting. An inviting lawn area is visible in front, providing a sense of tranquility.

Rockport Barn-Loft Conversion with private deck

JamesRating, 5 stars8 months ago
Lynne’s place was very well appointed, it had everything needed to cook a variety of things, ranging from pasta to lobsters, and had things available for needs that arise (for example, I forgot a razor, they had an ice pack for icing an injury and we needed a couple of AA batteries). It was clean, had a very comfortable bed and was very quiet. Location was excellent for us and just a 8-10 min drive to coffee shops/restaurants in Rockport (which were worth the drive!). So close to beautiful Camden, and also Bar Harbor.
A spacious kitchen featuring a central red island with a wooden countertop and an array of cooking pots hanging overhead. Rustic wooden beams and walls complement the stainless-steel appliances, while decorative items and artwork add charm to the warm atmosphere.

Thistledown Farm's Pennysworth - An 1800's barn.

EstherRating, 5 stars4 months ago
We really enjoyed our stay at Penny’s house! The barn is absolutely beautiful. Please be aware that this is not a private home, even though it’s listed as such. Penny is clear in the description that she lives on the ground floor, and the kitchen and living room are shared spaces. That being said, if that’s what you’re expecting, this is a charming stay and a great base point for exploring the area. Our dog had an absolute blast playing in the yard and we deeply appreciated Penny’s hospitality.
The spacious interior features a king-sized bed with a patterned quilt, complemented by wooden accents. A dining area with a set of six chairs is visible, while large windows provide natural light and offer views of the surroundings.

Alan is very welcoming and helpful. The lights and electronics are all very efficient and eco-friendly. And what an amazing bonus, to have top-class music fifty steps from our door! Gorgeous views of Cadillac Mountain, all lovely. Acadia is an hour away, Blue Hill Peninsula has lots going on, and Bucksport and Deer Isle are a short drive away. We will visit again. Thank you, Alan!

The North End of Our Restored Barn

LauraRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We loved our stay in the North Barn. Paul and Jane were the best hosts! The barn was very comfortable, had everything one could need, clean and really nice! Paul had a list of hikes and color coated them on a map which was very helpful and a time-saver! They had a basket of some food items upon arrival for us which we enjoyed. They both were very kind, helpful and available if we had any questions. We highly recommend this place to anyone coming to Maine and would without a doubt stay there again if we are able to return to Maine. Mark & Laura Al & Joan

Apple Tree Cottage: Deer Isle

AllisonRating, 5 stars10 months ago
Nicole’s house had everything we needed for our month-long stay. The kitchen was well equipped, the house is comfortable, and we loved the screened in porch and large backyard. It’s close very close to barred island and Sylvester cove, a favorite spot for our family. Nicole is very friendly, communicative, and totally on top of anything that needed her attention.

Drift Away Beach Barn

WilliamRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
This Airbnb was impeccably clean…as it was also the year prior when we found it. Lindsay is a very good communicator…and her property is great. Under 10 minute walk on a slight down hill grade to the beach and amusement park. Very nice and fairly private backyard…great for bbq’ing and beverages around the fire pit! Kitchen is well appointed…and everything on property worked as expected. Pretty sure after two spring stays here… This is going to be an annual family event staying at this location.

Beautiful location, great space, excellent host. The restaurant at the golf course is delicious! Apartment is perfect for larger groups or family gatherings. My only suggestion would be a king bed but otherwise it was amazingly welcoming.

Spacious Barn Studio (EV Charging Available)

KateRating, 5 stars9 months ago
This place was medicine for me ! So much more than described and the pictures don’t begin to tell the story of the peace, beauty, salt of the earth feeling of this gem. The apple orchard outside your door is magic in itself (with a lot of hard work reflected )…. The rental space is lovely; spacious , peaceful , comfortable in every way and , well, pure charm! There’s a serene view out every window . Emily and Brien were wonderful hosts , responsive and accommodating in every way . These are people you just want to know ! Hope is the name of the town and that says it all for me . This whole area is a sanctuary with the bustle of gorgeous Camden (and much more) in easy reach, but staying here is an opportunity for personal growth and reflection in an amazing space. It exudes light and love and prompts an inward journey. Whatever you may be healing from , take HOPE right here . I will look forward to returning to ALL , this wonderful place has to offer .

Modern farmhouse - 20 min to beach and lakes

AlisonRating, 5 stars11 months ago
Our family had a wonderful stay at Flanagan Farm. Our kids loved exploring every nook and cranny of the barn connected to the house, and even created a special "kids club" in the upstairs area. The kitchen had everything we needed and we ended up making a beautiful dinner one night with fresh produce from the Portland Farmers Market (on Saturdays). Mike was very helpful and responded quickly to all of our questions. I would highly recommend anyone to stay here!

The Red House Barn Apartment

TaraRating, 5 stars46 months ago
The barn is a really special place on a really amazing island. There are so many hidden gem areas on this island. It’s a true place to get away, explore and have some time in a secluded place, but still close to some amazing things. I was at the barn for 4 nights. Went to Acadia and bar harbor one day and hunkered down the other 2 as it was raining. The places to explore on the island are beautiful, even in the rain and allowed me to have some time away from reality. Highly recommend staying in the cranberry isles…especially at Judi/Chong’s place.

We had a wonderful stay at Eric’s place. This house is filled with beautiful eclectic artwork and antiques. It really made the trip to stay at such a lovely property. I’ve been coming to Maine for years and this was our second time staying mid-coast. I thought it was a great location close to several other towns. Great recommendations by Eric too. Thank you !

Antique Farm House - Medomak River, (oceanfront).

Our stay at Kate’s home exceeded expectations. The house was impeccably clean, comfortable, and inviting. The kitchen was well-stocked for cooking, just bring your own condiments and spices. The property featured a large, serene yard and picturesque waterfront, ideal for outdoor enjoyment with amenities like a fire pit, kayaks, chairs, and grill. Inside, there was ample space for larger groups or families with kids. The bathrooms were spotless, linens fresh, and everything in great working order. Kate’s informative house guide made settling in and exploring the area effortless. Located a short drive from a charming village with a coffee shop, market, and supermarket, the home also offers proximity to Maine’s top lobster pounds and coastal towns. Whether for a couple, group of friends, or family, I highly recommend Kate’s home for its cleanliness, amenities, and welcoming atmosphere.

Diana and her home were wonderful. She was friendly and responsive, she provided a great recommendation for dinner and when it started raining after I’d walked into dinner she went out of her way by sending me an offer to pick me up. The guest sweet was even nicer than expected with plenty of space, snacks, and comfortable furniture. I would happily book another stay.
