Hillock's Farm Cottage, luxury

JessicaRating, 5 stars1 week ago
A charming and restful stay in a gorgeous setting! The cottage had everything we needed, and we appreciated the thoughtful touches throughout. A wonderful base for discovering the area. Many thanks for the hospitality!
Aerial view captures the expansive landscape along the North Yorkshire coastline. Rolling green fields stretch towards the edge of steep cliffs overlooking the sea. A charming coastal property is seen with neatly maintained gardens and outbuildings, surrounded by vibrant greenery beneath a partly cloudy sky.

Beautiful apartment by the sea

We had the most wonderful stay in this beautiful loft-conversion. Dave and Katy made us very welcome and were on hand to give extra information about the fascinating local history, particularly of this terrace of cottages. Their kindness and thoughtfulness shone out. Our dog, Hazel, was also very pleased that it was such a dog friendly place! The setting is stunning with exceptional views of the coastline and ever-changing sea and sky. The Cleveland Way goes right past the cottage with options to walk the cliff path to Staithes and Runswick Bay, and beyond! There are also many rewarding places to explore, including Whitby with its historic harbour and, in the season, the steam railway to Pickering; in the other direction, the award-winning Land of Iron museum at Skinningrove, is well worth a visit. We look forward to coming back again!

A slate house sign displays the name 'Benjamin's Cottage' in elegant white lettering. The sign is bordered by a delicate floral design, and it is securely mounted onto a textured light-colored wall.

Benjamin's Cottage, Staithes

Mel was a great host, sent us clear instructions for checking in and provided all the information we needed for our stay. She kindly let us know that the cottage was ready if we wished to arrive early. The cottage is located a short drive away from Whitby making it the perfect base to explore the North Yorkshire coast as well as the moors. You can also walk down to Staithes Harbour from the cottage where you will find a small beach and lovely pubs and cafes. The cottage itself was well presented, clean, and comfortable with everything we needed for our stay. The host also left a bottle of Prosecco which was a lovely touch. The only thing I would note is that there were only 4 chairs at the table so was tricky for a group of 5 - a fold up spair chair would have been ideal! Having a parking space outside of the cottage was a big bonus as parking can be tricky around Staithes. We had a lovely stay and would happily stay again in the future. Thank you Mel :)

We had a wonderful Easter weekend in this beautiful cottage. Cosy and comfortable, well equipped and spotlessly clean. The location is peaceful and picturesque and we especially enjoyed chatting to Ian and Kathryn and meeting their newborn lambs. Hope to return.

Woodland cabin with private lake, sauna + firepit

JoshRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
The kingfisher cabin was absolutely brilliant, we only stayed a week but it’s perfectly doable to do 2 weeks and we would have done! Big windows in the living area and bedroom meant waking up and looking out to the little lake a dream, sliding the doors open to hear all the birds and wildlife around us. There is little areas like where the firepit is, the fields on either side where you can go to take pictures or pick up more wildlife! We had a power cut that affected all of North Yorkshire and Gemma was great in helping us get sorted and helpful suggestions for cooking food (use the bbq because it’s calor and a hob/oven style) Sauna - amazing Outdoor bath - amazing, red hot haha. 4 different sitting spots to relax outside. Full kitchen and utensils. We only actually ate out 3 times out of the 7 we were there. special mention to the big projector. With some of the apps already logged in (Netflix and Disney+) Would a million % come back, possibly at 1 year anniversary…

2 bed cottage a short drive from Staithes

KatherineRating, 5 stars5 days ago
We absolutely loved staying at Staithes View! Quiet, beautiful, definitely off the beaten track, the location was just what we wanted and exactly as Dawn described. The house itself was very comfortable, with lots of attention to detail and comfort. Even though pubs and shops are not within walking distance, there are plenty of options by car (though, to be fair, not many at 7 pm on a Sunday). Dawn had some excellent suggestions, and was a friendly and responsive host. It is the perfect place from which to explore the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, and the wonderful coastal towns and villages. Equally, it would be a delightful place just to spend a few days in a peaceful and beautiful location and not go anywhere at all!
