Cottage vacation rentals in Menaggio

We stayed at the farm for a family Christmas. Homes and spaces have largely exceeded all guests' expectations. All rooms have a bathroom, and the kitchen is exceptional, equipped with everything. The table had been prepared with care and style, and there was ample space for the kids to play. The common spaces are even equipped with a fireplace and outside there is a garden with some games. The patio, sunny in the morning, has white chairs. Giovanna was welcoming and kind in meeting all our questions or requests and the place is really special. Highly recommended.

Luca and Marina and their beautiful property could not be any better than it was. We experienced some rain while we were there and we even loved that! They welcomed us so graciously, like family, yet respected our privacy at all times. We were on our honeymoon at age 67 and 68 yrs old and it was both our first time to Italy. We both thought the home was just gorgeous and immaculately and thoughtfully apportioned, both inside and out and actually much more beautiful than even their pictures show. They prepared a wonderful welcome meal that was better than some of the restaurants we tried. The climate was so comfortable that we slept every nite with the windows and doors open, listening to the relaxing waterfall and rain and it was some of the best sleep we've had on any trip we've been on. We will miss this place and plan on returning here as often as we can! Book it!! If you love beautiful countrysides, beautiful landscaping, wonderful Italian people- this is it!

We loved this little spot. It's near a campsite and you are right on the lake and have direct assess to the water. This little cottage in front of a lakeside path and you can walk to many excellent restaurants, as well as two grocery stores. You're on the lake, not on the street, so it was very quite. We were there at the end of September, so the weather was still nice, but most the tourists were gone. Rita was very welcoming. We had everything we needed. We needed two twin beds, and that's what they had. Everything was spotlessly clean, and it has its own pool which we didn't use, but would have loved too. We can't wait to go back!

Very nice place, clean, well furnished. Host was great. Free parking is 15 minutes walk from the place.

We had a fantastic time staying in Dervio at Francesco’s place and exploring the towns surrounding lake Como. The place is perfect for so many reasons, the location is great, right on a small beach with amazing views and a walking path that takes you into town. It’s a short 7 minute walk from the train station and 10 minutes to downtown area with restaurants. There are tons of old walkways that allow you to explore the area. We spent a couple days taking the train and ferry to Bellano, Veranna, and Bellagio (very happy to be in Dervio). We also have two small kids and found the place was great for families with crib, beds with guard rails, and a high chair, along with a playground that just out the front door. The gates were excellent for preventing kids from going to the road or to the lake. The best part was Francesco and his family, they are very warm and welcoming! We spent time with him, his father, aunt, and cousin and very much enjoyed getting to know them!

Sonia's Airbnb is breathtaking. The view of Lake Como is even more beautiful than the photos in the listing. Sonia is a wonderful host - she provides recommendations, answered all of my questions and always made sure that we had everything we needed. I wished we had explored the lake with her on her sailboat so if you get the opportunity I would book it! The only thing I would advise future renters is that the road to Sonia's Airbnb in Brunate is VERY, VERY narrow and winds around and around. It is very easy to get lost and go down the wrong street. If you're renting car, try to get the smallest car possible - it will help you to maneuver the narrows roads. There is a funicular stop close to the house so you could walk there and take it to Como or to the top of Brunate. It is much easier to get off at the top of Brunate and walk downhill to the house. Highly recommend if you are looking for a peaceful and beautiful getaway.

A very nice week spent with the family in the heights and freshness (welcome!) of Lake Como and the beautiful city of Varenna. The place is located in a natural setting. We were surprised to discover a hot tub! The exteriors are very nice and well equipped ( garden furniture, sun loungers) . The interior is very as described. A good location to explore Lake Como by day. we also spent a day in Milan taking the train to Varenna. Patrizia was very responsive to any inquiries.

My husband and I enjoyed a wonderfully relaxed stay at Davide’s place. The villa was very spacious and private with a wonderful outdoor sitting room and kitchen (with same indoors). Everything we needed was available on arrival - water, tea, coffee, bathroom accessories, etc., Porlezza is a gorgeous walkable town beside stunning Lake Lugano. Highly recommended!

A great stay in a very charming apartment with a great host. The location is wonderful, a steep but short walk down to the centre of Bellano, with decent bars and restaurants in walking distance. Percival was very accommodating, responded rapidly and was able to share tips for the local area. A truly beautiful spot and a rare treat to have a private garden with such a stunning view

Everything was to your complete satisfaction. The view from the garden and from the balcony is magnificent. The kitchen is very well equipped. The house is nice and spacious for 4 adults and a huge dog. The bed was very comfortable. We did not find the house ( according to the address) right away...I was already surprised on Google Maps when I entered via albonico 2. This address is a few hundred meters away...but ultimately everything found 👍 we found the peace after a sightseeing day just wonderful. We can 100% recommend the house!

I very much enjoyed how cozy the location was with my two friends. However, I did not realize how much of a hike it would be to the cottage as well as the fact that the upstairs could only be reached through the outside.

We had a great time at Federica's place. The accommodation is perfectly well-equipped, very pleasant and very well located for visiting the Lake Como region. We highly recommend it!

We had a wonderful stay here! The bedrooms were very clean, each room had AC which is a luxury a lot of times and the bathrooms were spotless. Almost felt like a lux hotel but nice to have 3/4 rooms connect as it made us feel at home. Sergio was an amazing host, providing us with breakfast and cappuccinos daily. Everything was delicious we wish we could’ve have stayed longer! So we will definitely look at coming back!

Giulia and her grandfather who welcomed us are incredibly warm and friendly people who are also far beyond the usual courtesies for their guests. We felt very well taken care of and all (very few) open questions were answered immediately. (Yes, the parking place in front of the house is safe. And the way to the delicious restaurants was quickly and easily explained.) The area is stunningly beautiful and if you like to be in nature, you will find everything your heart desires here. Whether cozy evening by the fireplace (already prepared by the Nonno) or hikes directly from the house ("attention" - a wonderful mountain bike trail starts right behind the house); in the secluded quiet location you will quickly find the peace and relaxation that the place promises. Giulia is absolutely uncomplicated and accommodating. I would say this has been the most beautiful Airbnb stay so far.

We felt very comfortable in Maura's stone house from the beginning! The house is unique. It has so much charm and every detail is lovingly chosen! The house is perfectly equipped, we lacked nothing! Nice private house in a lovely village! Recommend! Friendly and helpful hosts. Plan your trip well, supermarkets are not easily accessible, and most restaurant closed very early in the evening.

We had an incredible stay at Jeannies place. The view is breathtaking and the cottage is rustic and very comfortable with everything we needed. We chose to walk from the ferry (this took almost an hour up with luggage and 25 minutes down… be forewarned you’ll be better off with a car). It was very clear from the instructions that we’d be in for a trek but opted for it anyway! Antonella is lovely and was very friendly. Would highly recommend buying some of her cheese!

The house is lovely, spotless, and offers a breathtaking lake view. It’s well equipped with high quality towels, toiletries, and a super comfortable bed. Communication with the host was smooth and pleasant throughout. We appreciated the thoughtful extras like pastries, jam, granola, cornflakes, and olive oil, which made us feel very welcome. The check-in/out process, especially the mandatory property inspection at checkout, was a bit inconvenient and added some pressure. While the manager was kind and helpful with great local tips, the timing adjustment was tricky. Overall, a very positive stay. We highly recommend this charming, comfortable place in a stunning location.

This was a fabulous spot to stay on Lake Como. We couldn’t have picked better. It was such a luxury having the garden and being able to swim privately in the lake every morning and afternoon. Once we parked the car we didn’t need to use it again as the place is bang in the walkable centre of all we wanted to see. The first day we walked 15 mins north to Tremezzo where we got the ferry over to Bellagio (which we found heavily touristic but our teens enjoyed all the shops) and we enjoyed the gardens of Villa Melzi . The second day we walked 15 mins south to lovely Lenno - so pretty the waterside promenade and Villa Balbianello. The third day to Tremezzo and Villla Carlotta - lots of Villas! If we didn’t have our teens with us we would have had cocktails in the grand hotel in Tremezzo and we also would have eaten at the lovely restaurant in Azzano (looked like a real foodies haven). The house had such character and was tucked quietly away from the main road. And the views - incredible!

The accommodation is located on the slope of a mountain on Lake Como, so the driveway is full of serpentines. But after the third time at the latest, you'll get the hang of it. After finding a space in the public parking lot - which surprisingly always worked out well - you go through the winding streets of Caino to the accommodation. Andreas has an illustrated guide here, but we didn't see it right away. A nice resident could still help us out directly. Check-in works by entering the PIN on the door lock - in the kitchen/living room there is a "welcome folder" that leaves no questions unanswered. About the actual apartment: Exactly as shown in the pictures; everything - but really everything - sparkling clean. A special highlight here is the roof terrace overlooking the lake and Colico. The only suggestion for improvement: fly screens for all windows, but some are available. All in all: If you are at Lake Como, then in this apartment :)
