The Thunderbird Tiny House

The Thunderbird tiny house is located on the Thunderbird Ranch about 13 miles west of Mountainair, New Mexico. We are surrounded by the Cibola National Forest on all four sides. The property is owned by the Wester's and has been in their family for almost a hundred years. We also have other vacation homes for rent so if you want to bring another family we can accommodate that. We live in an 1890 adobe home that shares the property with the casita and we have quiet and friendly neighbors. We have a handful of fruit trees, a hoop house where we are growing vegetables, and a wild 1 acre field. The property is fully fenced with private parking right outside the casita.

Come stay at our small homestead in this 1974 Airstream. This cute, clean camper is set next to our paddock with horses, chickens and a few roosters (they will crow a lot), and our large alert dogs (they will bark). We are in the county, so we have a slightly rural feel and are a short haul from downtown (13 mi.) and the airport (17 mi.). Beautiful walk to the river (1 mi.). Come and go as you please. This is NOT a luxurious, quiet retreat, but it is a safe, unique and happy one!

Slightly cooler for the altitude, our place is a respite from the heat but only 10 to 30 minutes from everything in the city. Conveniently located near trails, the tram, and the balloon fiesta.
