Larila (pronounced lah-ree-lah) is the aboriginal word for platypus, and our home is just a few hundred metres from one of the best places to see these beautiful little creatures. Our home is a lovingly renovated weatherboard property, retaining 1950's features characteristic of Maydena, but with all the modern conveniences you'd expect to make your stay amazing. Enjoy sun filled bedrooms and living areas with views of our beautiful private garden and the mountains beyond from every window.

Enjoy the opportunity to stay in one of Derwent Valleys Grand Designs. This spacious studio space expanded over the bottom floor of the house, offers a queen size double bed, ensuite, full kitchen, dining table and living area. National Park is located in the upper Derwent Valley. The accomodation is 5min drive to Mt Field National Park. Maydena bike park just a 15min drive up the road. There is an abundance of beautiful walks with a selection of river valleys, waterfalls and giant trees.

Entire Home - Maydena \ Mt Field \ Tyenna

You'll have my self-contained house in Fitzgerald to yourselves. It is modern and family-friendly. It's 5 minutes from the Tyenna river and a magic spot for fishing and watching Platypus. Less than 5 minutes from the Maydena Mountain Bike Park. Also MT Field and National Park are a 10 minute drive. Stay in and prepare meals or have dinner at the Mountain Bike Park (check their socials for opening times). As well, the visitors center at MT Field has a stylish and comprehensive cafe.
