Beach house vacation rentals in Matagorda

Lovely place to stay! Stocked kitchen with spices and utensils. Lots of towels and essentials provided. Lisa, the local host, was absolutely wonderful! The view from the sunroom is breathtaking and loved watching the dolphins. The house does sit at the curve in the road and you see all the headlights at night if you're sitting outside. Not much noise reduction between second floor and first floor.

If you want a relax weekend this is the place! Beautiful view, so close the beach! The house looks just like the pictures! 10/10! If you’re going to Galveston, be ready with cash if you are going to Take the San Louis bridge ☺️

Our large family fit comfortably. The front porch and being able to walk right onto the beach was priceless. Great location. Very clean home. Kid friendly. We would come again!

This is our second time staying at the house and it was just as amazing at two years ago. I loved watching the sunrise on the front deck with coffee (they have normal coffee pot and Kurig). The beds were comfortable. The house was very clean. Carla was helpful and responsive with questions. We also loved the sunsets from the back deck. There were tons of mosquitos, so be prepared with OFF!!

Adorable beach house in THE BEST location!! Literally a walk through the backyard and over a bridge through the dunes to the beach!! Loved that we shared this area with a few families that rented on the same row. Almost like having a private beach at times. The host was always super friendly in her communication! Will definitely consider rebooking this property if ever back in Surfside 🏖️

The home was just as described. The beach was so close we could easily run back to the house if something was needed. We appreciated the use of the beach chairs and the wagon. We had a great stay.

We loved our Turtle Bay Retreat getaway! The home was very comfortable, and the host provided all the amenities for a bay front home. Unfortunately we didn't catch anything worth preparing, but we could have if we did! The outdoor grill and griddle were great for cooking our meals. We would have liked to have used the provided crab pot, but we didn't have the chance. Oh well, next time. We are already talking about going another time soon. Host was very kind and responded to my many inquiries very quickly.

The place was absolutely fantastic! From the moment we arrived, we felt right at home. It was incredibly cozy and equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The highlight for us was definitely the pier and the fishing lights, which were nothing short of A++. We spent hours fishing all along the pier and were thrilled to catch some big fish at the end! The location is wonderfully secluded, making it the perfect retreat for anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. It felt much more private than staying in Corpus or Galveston, which was a refreshing change. If you’re seeking a serene getaway with amazing fishing potential, this is definitely the place for you! Plus, Port Lavaca is only a quick 30-minute drive away if you’re in the mood for more dining options. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and can’t wait to return! Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful stay. Everything was nice and clean. We enjoyed our stay and would book again. When we had one minor hiccup, I contacted Marina, who quickly responded. We even got to meet the neighbors. We helped them carry their stove up the stairs. They were friendly people.

Wendi was a great host. We liked how everything was labeled inside the house! Our families loved the extra amenities she included, such as beach chairs, ping pong table, and cornhole boards! The neighborhood was peaceful and an easy walk to the beach! A couple of things we noticed that were out of Wendi’s control were the mosquitos (so make sure you pack bug spray), and there was an excess of seaweed on the beach for the time of year we visited. We would definitely book this house again if visiting the Galveston area!

We were in town for a quick stay for my husband’s job and felt right at home!

This place is great! Really clean, loads of outside activities available. The access to the beach was perfect for my family. I would no doubt stay again!

Matthew’s place was perfect! My friend’s and I stayed there for our annual girl’s weekend. The place was a perfect location, the pool was clean, the house was clean, and the fencing around the place gave us privacy. We also loved the extra bedroom and kitchen downstairs; that was a perfect touch. I highly recommend staying at this house and would certainly book it again.

Lovely home. Very quiet. Safe. Clean. Peaceful. Family oriented. Pool was great. Randy was great and very accommodating. Thanks for providing the beach towels. Great beach. Neighbors who were visit were also very nice. It met our needs for the 5 days we visited. Wonderful view from 2nd floor. Suggestions- Need more restaurants in the area. Front door got frustrating at times. Stove- difficult to operate Umbrellas at the pool would be nice.

The Tiderunner Retreat is a beautiful, clean and well-stocked location that was perfect for our family reunion Mother's Day weekend. The pool & hot tub and cornhole game were a huge hit with the kids & parents alike. The many bedrooms, baths, and kid equipment made it just right for a family gathering. Highly recommend!

We were looking for peace and quiet to rest and recharge. Couldn't have found a better retreat. We went from the beach to the pool to sleep. Worked in a little pool on their pool table. All and all it was the perfect vacation for what we needed. The only intrusion was a duck that showed up the last night and I suppose swam around in the rain puddles and quacked for hours. I tried to run it off, but ended up just stuffing a pillow over my head. Kind of funny now.

This was our second time visiting. Great location, clean home, amenities were as described and more. Also, great local beaches for kids to swim and fish.

This was a lovely like-new waterside house with water views back and front. We loved sitting on the porches and were entertained by egrets and herons. The backwaters were especially beautiful and calming.

My daughter and I enjoyed The Gem. We loved the home. The beach was very peaceful. We are hoping to make it an annual trip. My daughter and her friends enjoyed using the beach toys and board games. I was so happy I could bring my pups. This was the first vacation without my late husband and just my girl so having all the “extras” really helped me. Thank you so much for allowing us to stay.

We booked this Airbnb for our construction crew while they were working on a nearby project, and it worked out perfectly. The space was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described in the listing. There was plenty of room for the guys to rest after long days on the job, and the Wi-Fi and amenities were reliable — a big plus when you're managing logistics remotely. The host was responsive and accommodating, which made coordinating everything a breeze. Parking was accessible, and the neighborhood felt safe and quiet — just what we needed for a hassle-free stay. Would definitely book again for future projects in the area. Highly recommend for other work crews or business travelers looking for a solid, dependable place to stay.

This is a great beach house, just a 2-minute walk from the beach. The view of the Gulf is amazing. Sitting on the porch with a good book and listening to the waves was one of the best parts of the stay. We were there for about 10 days, and by day 5, we were walking barefoot straight from the house to the beach. The house has a fenced yard, which a lot of homes in the area don’t. If you’ve got small kids or pets, that makes a big difference.
