We had a fantastic time at The Stables celebrating our rescue greyhound’s fifth birthday - she got to run around happily in the enclosed garden whilst we enjoyed our complimentary Prosecco in the hot tub!Secluded location, relaxing and everything you could need thought of by Paul & Fiona. Highly recommend!

Beautiful location for a lovely farm stay, great views from the hot tub! Loved being able to watch the cows and sheep. Claire was lovely and was ready to help at any moment despite us arriving so late at night! Highly recommend and will definitely be coming back!

We all felt incredibly spoilt at tower cottage. The accommodation just had a wonderful, relaxed, comforting playful energy about it. It felt that every ornament or artifact that the cottage held had a story behind it and what a privilege for us. It was joyous. The grounds, well that was something else. Early morning Deer, the call of the chiff chaff, the fast low flight of the sparrow hawk through the woods, the soothing sound of the stream in an evening, a great crested grebe joining us for our Sunday morning dip and the joy of the marble run in the woods reminded us to freely play all weekend as a friendship group. Living next door, Ruth and mark were on hand if we needed help or advice without ever feeling like our time and space was compromised. Relaxed wholesome hosts who love where they live. Their kindness was infectious. We will definitely be back.

Teapot Cottage is a beautiful place to stay. It was very well kitted out, decorated very nicely, and had lots of nice touches to make our stay even better. Lammisa was a great host - very responsive and friendly, and was happy to help whenever needed. There's great local amenities within walking distance, and several local villages and towns within a short drive, including Ennerdale Lake. The place was very comfortable, with plenty of seating indoor and out, with several comfy beds suitable for a group of adults. The only thing to be aware of is that the bedroom with the bunk beds has very little storage space, so if you're staying for a few days and have a large bag/suitcase - you'll need to find somewhere else to put it! Overall - we were all very pleased with this stay and we'd definitely book again in future.

Second time here and again it was fabulous. What an absolutely outstanding place for a quiet weekend. Allan is the perfect host who was readily available if we needed him. The cottage is outstanding and was pristine inside and outside with everything we needed from salt & pepper dishes to dishwasher tablets!! Toilets were immaculate & every room had lovely soft bathrobes as well. Allan even left us a few wee goodies like lovely biscuits and crisps and milk and water in the fridge - a lovely touch! We couldn’t find even the slightest fault with anything in this cottage. Definitely returning for a third time next year!! Well done Allan!! A BIG 10/10!!

What an absolute gem we found in Apple House. The pictures really don't do the whole place justice! A cosy, romantic house set in beautiful, serene surroundings. It really was the perfect location for our mini moon! Was lovely to be greeted by the chickens and Russel the dog each morning <3 We were treated to some tasty welcome gifts and the place was spotless, very comfy bed and just the most charming decor. Thank you so much Emma and Craig! We will definitely be returning with more of our family!

Very welcoming hosts and an impressive place to rent. The interior is in stylish, comfortable and in great condition. The location is quieter than others in the lake district but only 15 mins from Bowness. We loved our weekend.

We enjoyed a very comfortable stay at Cleator. The cottage was exactly as described and we had everything we needed. It was easy to find and there was parking outside most days. We wanted a walking holiday and this cottage was perfect - it is right on the famous Wainwright Coast to Coast National Trail (in fact the route is on the pavement outside!) and you can walk back to St Bees or up towards Ennerdale Bridge. You can also walk down to the Ehen river in one minute. We also drove out to walk Scaffel Pike and Haystacks as well as reaching other parts of the C2C towards Grasmere. A drive to Ravensglass is also recommended - it's a beautiful untouched village on the Esk estuary with a narrow gauge railway that takes you up to Eskdale. Thank you to David and Victoria who were extremely welcoming and helpful with a couple of questions that we had whilst there. For great food shopping, we used the Coop at Egremont and Cleator Moor which were both just over a five minute drive away.

We had a fantastic stay at this lovely cottage on Wastwater. The setting is stunning — right on the lake and surrounded by beautiful walking routes, perfect for exploring with our 18-month-old and dog. The cottage is tucked away on a peaceful farm with a great outdoor seating area to enjoy the views. It’s quite remote, with the nearest proper shop about 30 minutes away, but the nearby campsite shop (just half a mile down the road) had the essentials we needed. Other than that, everything was perfect. A truly relaxing break in a beautiful location — we’d definitely recommend it!

Absolutely fantastic place. Quiet yet close to pubs etc, several options. We went out one night but decided we just wanted to enjoy the fire etc after a cold day on Scafell Pike, which is close by. Will stay here again next time we are in the area. Just what we wanted.

We absolutely 💯 loved our short stay at Nursery end cottage. It was perfect. Warm, comfortable & cosy. It had everything you could think of. We were welcomed with a lovely welcome pack & thankyou card. The cottage is in a beautiful, peaceful area surrounded by sheep and hills. We chose to stay here as it wasn't far from Scafell pike. I would recommend to anyone to stay in this cottage and would definitely book it again. It's just beautiful. We only wish we could of stayed longer.

Zoe was great in communicating and the property is indeed a rare find. The garden was unique and our Labrador loved it.

We absolutely loved our Christmas at Seaglass Cottage. The hosts were great, answered any questions, gave us detailed instructions for check-in and even put up a Christmas tree and decorations for us. We were very lucky with the weather, enjoying walks along the beach right outside, we even found some seaglass (we felt like children!). The property was very clean, the bedding smelled so fresh, the kitchen had everything you might need, very clean bathroom and handy downstairs loo. Every evening we would sit in the cosy conservatory enjoying a glass of wine, watching the sun go down, people walking along the beachpath with their dogs and then into the lounge for a real log fire. It was perfect and we can't wait to return!

We had a lovely quiet weekend away from the hustle and bustle of London. It was the first time taking our gorgeous puppy away and she loved every minute. Kerry was helpful and responsive. The place was spotless when we arrived. The cottage was nice and cosy and we felt right at home. We hope to stay again in the future!

We loved staying in this remote idyllic home. Just right for two, with beautiful views to the south and west. A perfect base for exploring the Lake District. Loved it

Great value for money, close to city centre, spotless throughout, amazing hot shower, fully equipped kitchen, a home away from home. Loved the personal touches and chocolate brownies. Our absolute favourite accommodation on our trip.

The River Barn exceeded all of our expectations and was even more beautiful than the pictures portrayed. The River Barn was very comfortable (the bed was awesome) and all amenities to prepare meals, enjoy a BBQ or go on a picnic were readily available. The location was perfect for our purposes; we greatly appreciated the beautiful and peaceful surroundings of the property but it also provided easy access to Windemere, Ambleside, Grasmere and Keswick where we enjoyed going on several walks. We can't say enough positive comments about our host, Otto communicated with us on several occasions and provided us with lots of information --- where to eat, where to visit and nearby walks. If interested in enjoying a delicious Sunday roast, be sure to reserve a table early at one of the two pubs within easy walking distance. We highly recommend staying at the River Barn and can't wait to visit again!!

What an amazing place! Susan’s home was lovely and located on a beautiful dairy farm. We were immediately welcome by her cats Lucky and Clover (who we adopted for our stay). Susan was always available to answer our questions and took us on a tour of the farm to meet the cows. The house was about 7 minutes from a great village called cockermouth which had pubs, restaurants and many bakeries. A little further and you are in keswick which is one of the bigger towns. We took a boat from there across derwentwater to the famous Catbells and also took a rowboat out on the lake. We also went for a beautiful walk around buttermere lake and a hike into the borrowdale valley. And we even popped over the border into Scotland. It was an amazing trip and a wonderful place to stay. We've had a wonderful week long stay at La'al Cottage. Michael was a great host and communicated everything really well and gave recommendations of places to go locally that were dog friendly. The cottage itself is really cosy and equipped with everything we needed. Even the dogs were catered for with a little jar of dog treats and dog bowls which we thought was a lovely touch. It's in a great location too, central to everything in the town but tucked away off the road. We had no problem parking on the cobbled area throughout the week. I would definitely recommend the cottage and we will absolutely be back here for another visit! Thanks Michael!

The Hayloft barn is an amazing place to stay for a visit to the lakes. An amazing location right next to Keswick means you aren't travelling far. But also the barn is cosy and great for a night in. Would 100% recommend and hopefully we will be back at some point
