Cottage vacation rentals in Marquette

My best friend and I stayed with our families for the Gwinn Gus Macker weekend and we loved it! The boys fished, rode their bikes and relaxed in the hot tub after a long chill day of playing ball! We were able to sit by the fire and relax with the sound of crickets in the background - we will definitely be back! Maybe with the entire team next time!

We had a wonderful stay here this last weekend. There are five cabins hidden on a beautiful lake, we got lucky and got the cabin closest to the water. The property is well-maintained and offers lots of stuff to do, like firepits, boats and a clean hot tub. The property itself is very private with a good amount of trails nearby, super quiet and quaint. I highly recommend sitting at the end of the dock in the morning and listening to the birds—there are so many! The cabin was clean when we arrived, and actually bigger than I excepted it to be from the pictures. The beds are so comfortable (normally I have a hard time sleeping in strange places but here I was out like a light!) and the hot water stays hot (yay!). The kitchen has a retro charm, there’s also a large TV and board games inside. We had a problem with the lock on our door, and both owners arrived immediately to help us. They were very kind and took care of the problem for us. Thank you again for a fantastic, recharging time!

Although our stay at the cabin was a little cramped for 6 adults, it was perfect for what we needed. There is a grocery store nearby for all food needs, and bigger cities like Marquette are only an hour away. There are many waterfalls within 30 minutes that are easy access. Most amenities are provided (pots, pans, dishes) and there are some boats for the lake for the cabins. The cabin did have towels for showering, but I would bring your own for the lake and hot tub. One thing to note is the GPS does not take you to the right location, rather it takes you to a personal property down the road. Be cautious of the street addresses. There is also a non-grounded electrical cord in the coffee bar drawer for all grounded cords.

We had a great stay, our second in two years. We love the feeling of being out in nature and the sense of privacy. This year our “neighbors” were two bald eagles we saw on the beach every morning while watching the sun rise over Lake Michigan. Some practical things to consider: the nearest grocery store is Jack’s in Manistique. Best to stop there before you arrive, it’s more than a short drive. And, take them seriously when they tell you to arrive during daylight! I wouldn’t want my first drive down the single-track access lane to be in the dark! If I were planning to stay there in the winter, I would check with the management company first to make sure my vehicle was up to it. When we arrived we found the EV charger not working, but we contacted the management company and they worked hard to make it right in less than 24 hours, even though it was a weekend.

In general, I really liked everything 🥹 The hot tub is just great 😍 Everything is clean and tidy, Jacqueline was very quick and clear in responding to messages. We had a problem with a tree falling on the road and no access to the house, but George fixed it literally 5 minutes after I messaged him. The only thing that was a bit of a disadvantage was the condition of the kitchen, in my opinion, it needs a little repair. But in general, this did not interfere with our vacation, so we were satisfied and I can confidently recommend this cottage to anyone who wants to be alone with nature. This place is really worth a visit!😊

Peaceful winter wonderland right on the lake. We brought our snowshoes and adventured to our hearts desire right from the cabin doorstep.

The cabin is set in the perfect spot, tucked in a private area with a stunning river view. Bringing our dogs with us was important in where we stayed and they equally enjoyed the views from the cabin, spectating the wildlife that was passing through. We had the opportunity to fish, play yard games, enjoy dinner over the fire, and wake up to coffee on the beautiful porch. Highly recommend this spot if you are looking to get away but still be close to town if needed.

I was looking for the place that would feel like home away from home where my entire family (fur babies included) and I could unwind, relax, and enjoy time together the weekend of my first marathon. This place was perfect. Kayaking was so much fun, the spacious kitchen made dinner times and breakfasts so special, and my doggo loooooved swimming, running around and going on walks. Even my cat felt right at home! It really felt like home. The amenities were also a great plus. It was my mom’s first time in an Airbnb, and she was so impressed with absolutely everything. Thank you Charlie and Shelly!! Everything was perfect. ☺️❤️

We had an unforgettable stay at this beautiful log-style cabin on the edge of Lake Superior. The craftsmanship of the cabin is impressive, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. Each morning, We woke up to breathtaking views of the shimmering water, which was a truly magical way to start the day. The peacefulness of the lake and the surrounding nature made it the perfect place to unwind. We spent countless hours simply relaxing in the back room, soaking in the serene landscape. The hosts were incredibly thoughtful and made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. I highly recommend this cabin for anyone seeking a tranquil getaway surrounded by the beauty of Lake Superior. I can’t wait to come back!

This was my first experience with Airbnb. I chose this listing because of the location, space for family members, and cost compared to other options in the area. Everything went well. Robert responded quickly to questions. I would stay at this house again next time I travel with my family.

Fantastic place! So comfortable and the layout of bedrooms in different parts of the cabin was perfect, as we shared the place with our two adult kids and spouses. Everything is as shown in the pictures, very clean, very well maintained and nicely stocked with everything you need. The Kayaks, Canoe and Paddle boat all were enjoyed as was a wonderful fire overlooking the beautiful lake. Angie was quick to respond with the few questions I had although everything is well listed with directions. We had a great time and will return in the future. Thank you Angie and Jeff for offering your beautiful cabin for families to enjoy. We had a lovely stay! The place was easy to find in a quiet, peaceful neighborhood right on the river. very clean and well-appointed. would definitely come back if in the area again.

We had such a great time during our stay at Twin Oaks. With three children 4 and under, there were plenty of spaces to sleep and play. The park is literally right across the street, as well as the beach, so the location was incredibly convenient. Made for lots of easy playtimes. Barbara was very accommodating and helpful in insuring we had everything we needed for our stay. We would definitely stay here again - our 4 year old has been asking if we could book this place again for the fall ha! Overall, this was an ideal place for our family and helped make our trip as wonderful as it was. Thank you, Barbara!

If you are looking for a peaceful, quiet retreat in a beautiful, natural setting, the Eh Frame is the spot for you! My family had a wonderful vacation in Big Bay. We were outside for most of it, but when rain kept us in we could snuggle in the cottage with a book or enjoy a movie or, simply, the stunning view of Lake Independence. The cottage has most creature comforts but note there is no laundry, so you’ll have to visit the laundromat which is a quick drive down the road, adjacent to the general store. Fresh produce and fish, meat, etc. at this store is limited, so it’s best to do most of your grocery shopping on your way in to Big Bay, in Marquette or Houghton, for example. Ryan is a very responsive and accommodating host. We loved our stay so much we’re thinking of a repeat next summer!

Our stay here was beautiful and peaceful. We explored the waters with the canoe and kayaks, fished on the row boat, saw amazing wildlife(sandhill cranes, bald eagles, wild turkey, and deer), relaxed in the sauna, and enjoyed many meals and games together. We also ventured out for a day in Munising for the Pictured Rocks boat tour and another day to Marquette to visit Presque Isle. The hosts were very responsive, friendly and helpful as well!

The house worked perfectly for our snowmobile group of 4 couples! Very spacious- plenty of room to hang out all together, and the lower level living room was a nice bonus. The huge mudroom was perfect for all our gear and easily accessible from the driveway where we parked our snowmobiles overnight. Plenty of parking too- all 4 trucks and trailers fit nicely. The house itself is very nice and clean, and the winter view of the lake is beautiful! Convenient location 1/2 mile from general store with gas, and very close to the trails. Highly recommend and hope to be back someday!

We stayed here for a family snowmobile weekend in February and it was exactly what we wanted. Very nice place right on the lake and close to the snowmobile trail. Close to Midway General Store and a short drive to Kitchitikipi and Munising. Loved the Knotty Pine and Up North feel of the cabin. Jacqueline was very responsive and left detailed directions and recommendations. Would highly recommend.

Great remote location for a secluded getaway! I would note that the cabin is winterized in May. The dock was out of the water, which made getting into the lake via canoe/kayak much more difficult. You might also notice some other "winter" things in May, like some downed trees, the railing to the porch was being worked on, etc. Overall, fantastic stay, within perfect driving distance to all the things we wanted to do! This also was one of the cleanest stays we've had to-date!
