The house is located in 2nd line to the seafront , overlooking the channel between Lamu and Manda Island and is within the UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE. Easy to reach restaurants, shops, the market, boats and beaches. The interiors are roomy and beautifully-finished, and furnished with attractive, newly-built traditional furniture including chairs, tables, sofas, four-poster beds, planters chairs. I wish I stayed here longer than 1 night. Poor planning on my part. Linet was truly incredible. Very helpful and gave me a free upgrade. Ideal location and easy to find. The design of the place is stunning. The breakfast is well worth it! Everything was delicious and fresh. Absolutely coming back to stay here with family. You will not regret it!

the place is very well maintained with friendly care takers, its located in a serene environment away from the busy lamu town, very ideal for family gate aways, you can enjoy total privacy if their are no other bookings on the property, only challenge was no food joints nearby but food can always be delivered to the house by owner owned restaurant, the house is just on the beach hence making it easy for access to boat rides, boda boda are also available. i would definitely suggest Ivor's place to anyone visiting lamu.

Very lovely stay at Ivor’s, we loved the appartement nicely furnished and well equipped. Special big up to Jonathan and Johnson that were extra caring and helping for anything you might need. Localisation is great as you’re half way between Lamu and Sheela, a way to enjoy both atmosphere easily by walking 15min.

We had a wonderful time staying in Lamu as a whole. The apartments are central, easy to access restaurants, cafés, the beach was at 10min walking distance. The staff was very welcoming and everything was clean. The rooftop view is breathtaking! There was an issue with our initial booked room and we were upgraded upon arrival!

The swimming pool is surrounded by tropical gardens, featuring a thatched-roof structure nearby. Sun loungers and a shaded seating area offer relaxation options. A tranquil atmosphere is complemented by vibrant greenery and colorful flowers in the landscape.

Loved this place stayed June 2024. The host even arranged a boat transfer to the airport for us... unfortunately we didn't know about this service until we had got to the apartment and made our own way across the water, but do contact the host before you fly and I'm sure they'll take care of you. The space is huge, there were just 2 of us and it felt like a home. There was always someone available at the property to assist with any queries we had. We will definitely stay here again if we are back in Lamu! We recommend Sailor's Joint restaurant for nice fish and amaizing mango juice at great price :D

Great place and great host. Ivor is very helpful and always responsive. We were traveling as a group of friends and he was communicating mainly with my friend, everything went very well. The place is amazing, peaceful pool in a beautiful garden, plenty of places to chill and hangout in the house. The house is walking distance from Lamu town and Shela, and it is in front of the sea. You can even see the sunrise from the terrace. Staff was helpful and nice. Only note, mattress in the bedrooms can use a renovation, they were not very comfortable. We will surely come back. Thank you Ivor.

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay at The Pwani House! Lamu is such a unique place and we got to experience it all with the help of the host and the house manager, Michael. We were always able to get boat rides set up, answered all of our questions, and made us feel comfortable and right at home. It is a great location to experience both Lamu Town and Shela Beach. Definitely worth the value! Highly recommend Pwani House!

Beautiful house well located in Lamu Town with kitchen and roof top terrace. Katana, who looks after the house and its guests, is a very nice guy and super helpful. He also prepared the breakfast, which I really enjoyed. Lovely place!

Samaki house was great place to immerse yourself in Lamu’s culture. The house itself boasts beautiful Swahili finishes along with a stunning view from the terrace. The location is within walking distance to several local restaurants, land marks and is located near the Main Street where all the local stores are. Moses, the house manager, was extremely helpful. Breakfast was an added bonus, and the provision of different breakfast options was very appreciated.
