Vacation rentals with a sauna in Maine

A few times while wandering around midcoast Maine in late March, we were asked if this is when we usually came to vacation here. Yes, we are educators from the Southwest, and this was our spring break, so this is when we came to visit, but honestly, it is so peaceful this time of year. Especially Boothbay Harbor, and what we imagined while walking around the very quiet town would be a very different place in July! Our experience at Abby’s space was absolutely wonderful and serene in the spring. The thoughtful touches (thank you for the bottle of Maine wine and jar of blueberry jelly!) made it even more special. Thank you, we hope to be back one day.

What a gem! A peaceful, unique retreat in the middle of South Portland. Loved the bathroom, and bright sunny kitchen! We enjoyed how walkable this was to numerous local spots and the character of the surrounding neighborhood. Our preschooler was a big fan of the chickens in the backyard, her tucked away bedroom, and children’s books! There were so many thoughtful touches that made our stay comfortable, and Wynne is friendly and approachable. We only wish we could have stayed longer!

Arian’s house is so lovely. It’s cozy, modern and very clean. The house is in an excellent location close to restaurants and walking paths. Arian was responsive and helpful. We highly recommend his place if you’re looking for somewhere to stay in Portland

We really appreciated the comfort and luxury of the accommodations after 2 weeks of camping! We were in town for a wedding, the lodging was centrally located and close to the beaches but not right on the roadside. The grounds were spacious and the screened in porch was a bonus! Well appointed with everything we needed and a comfortable bed!

Our stay was great; the home was well equipped with everything we needed. We plan on going back!

I stayed here with my dog and the place was perfect! Great backyard area, it felt very private and quiet. The space was comfortable and clean and the hosts were very helpful and friendly! Would love to stay here again.

We wanted a relaxing and peaceful place to stay and Ferncrest was all of that! We enjoyed staying on the “quiet side” of Mount Desert Island. Yet it was close enough to Bar Harbor and the activities it offered. Coming back to Ferncrest in the evening was like coming home!

Beautiful place. Everything we needed ! I'll look for this particular condo the next time I stay at Sugarloaf mountain.

Will was a great host before and during our stay. He communicated well with me ahead of time with simple and easy to follow directions to (and instructions for) his place. Will’s condo was perfect for our family of four (children aged 9 and 3). We came up for Spring skiing and enjoyed the annual end of season Pond Skim and festivities in South Ridge which was easy walking/skiing distance from his place. It was great to be able to ski home for lunch and to have a break in the middle of the day. The grounds at Fall Line were awesome as well: our kids loved the common room, games, the pool, and the snow out the back door where they played on a sled. Very comfortable, clean and perfect spot for our first, but not last, visit to Sunday River. Thanks Will.

We had a fantastic stay even with a power outage that impacted the entire Sunday River area. Hosts kept us updated and in the loop. This is a terrific ski in/ski out condo. With 2 children it’s great having the extra beds. You can pay a lot more for a lot less. We also love coming “home” for lunch during the day. It beats trying to find a table in the lodge! Amenities were great. I would say bring extra towels for the pool. Some condo communities provide them but this one does not. Overall a clean and cozy condo, highly recommend this place for a ski vacation.

The place was awesome for a weekend stay. Will definitely book again next time I’m in the area! Condo was clean and easy to find and host was communicative!

Sarah’s place was excellent for our group of 3 adults. She had lovely pots and pans for our use. She was very responsive to any questions we had

We had a delightful stay in this unique, beautifully designed, well-equipped house. The views were incredible and we stayed "home" for the majority of our meals rather than go out to eat and the kitchen was very well-stocked with high quality everything. We really enjoyed sitting outside in the late afternoons, listening to the birds and watching the tide go in and out. Very peaceful and just what we needed after a stressful July. We didn't love Brunswick itself, however -- a bit too commercial and built up for our tastes and there was traffic getting everywhere. That was the only downside of our stay but the house was wonderful.

This is an amazing property with a very cool house. Check-in was easy, Tyler is a very responsive host, and we were able to find everything we needed and wanted. We especially enjoyed the wood-fired sauna during sunrise, and the fire pit in the evenings.

This was an amazing place for a weekend away for two young families. The layout and size of the house was perfect and the location is beautiful. It’s close enough to Bethel and the Whites so there’s plenty to do (by car) all while being a very quiet and peaceful setting. George and Casey were incredible friendly and responsive hosts. We hope to stay here again and highly recommend.

We had a truly unforgettable Father’s Day weekend at this beautiful lake house just outside of Acadia. The setting was absolutely perfect — peaceful, scenic, and right on the water. We were lucky to have gorgeous weather the entire stay, which made our time by the lake even more special. The home itself was warm, inviting, and well-appointed for a family getaway. We spent our days kayaking, relaxing by the water, and enjoying meals together with the serene lake view as our backdrop. It was the perfect blend of comfort and nature. Thank you for sharing your wonderful home with us. We can’t wait to come back!

The house was beautifully designed in a way that compliments the nature all around it. The natural wood work is so beautiful. The backyard view of the mountains is so magnificent. I wanted an off the grid location and with this listing, I definitely got it. Everything you pretty much need is in the house. The kitchen is very wide and spacious for family meals. The house was bigger than expected which was a plus. The sauna was perfect. Still had the newly built sauna smell. There are several trails you can hike. Just make sure to bring repellant. I got the chance to meet the owner and his wife. Very nice and hospitable people. It was a pleasure getting to know a little amount them and the ins and outs of the land. I would 100% recommend this place. I’ll definitely be back.

Perfect place to host a large group gathering of friends and family. Our group gets together once a year to play golf at Sunday River and hang out for a weekend. This place was absolutely perfect. It was extremely hot out so we appreciated the mini splits / heat pumps keeping everyone cool. The deck, the view, the traeger grill, and the fire pit (including dry firewood on site, which we really appreciated). Short drive to Sunday River and Bethel Inn golf courses. The hot tub and sauna are a nice touch. Great kitchen /island cook and host in. Game room was a lot of fun. We would definitely stay here again.

Crissy and this beautiful cozy cabin in the woods, are both wonderful! Arrangements couldn’t be easier, lots of recommendations for things to do, but just hanging out in the home is nice too. Great place to unwind.
