Great spot, perfect for exploring Buxton and the surrounding area. Lovely house and although the bedrooms are a tad small we only needed them to sleep in and that was more than made up for in the excellent kitchen, garden and living areas. Perfect for a girlie getaway! Grace was a great host, very responsive to messages. Some basic kitchen bits and bobs (including mini milk bottle!) were a nice touch. Would stay again

This is our 2nd stay at Lucys' beautiful cottage, and we had a fabulous time. We love the cottage and location so quiet,peaceful and close to all the Peak district attractions. Lucy is a fantastic host,so helpful,kind and responsive. I would highly recommend to anyone visiting this area.

Paula and Danny’s house is nestled on a quiet lane close to the town’s centre and surrounded by the scenery of the High Peaks. The house is well equipped, very comfortable and well sized with beds and living space ample for 6 people. We used the house as a base for exploring the Peaks with the well known peaks of Kinder Scout and Mam Tor just a few miles away. If hiking isn’t your thing then trains to Buxton take just 14mins. The hosts were responsive, helpful and friendly and we’d definitely stay here again.

Clean and tidy. We were 2 families with kids and was plenty enough space for all. Extra toiled at ground floor is definitely handy. There even was Xbox and PlayStation for evening FIFA sessions:). Modern design and equipment including some smart house features. Location wise was perfect for everything we had planned in Peak District. Overall great place and highly recommended. Thank You!

We had a wonderful stay at Dove Cottage! Located within the gates of the main house the cottage felt very secure and private! Susan was super helpful with local recommendations and what pubs etc were dog friendly! Upon arrival there was a loaf of bread, butter, some oat cakes, crisps, cookies, some cheese and milk waiting for us which was such a nice touch!! We brought our dog and Susan had even left some lovely treats for her!! For anyone wanting easy access to the Peak District, a cosy place to stay with the most lovely hosts, we would definitely recommend Dove Cottage!!

Lovely property, well furnished, well equipped and clean. Lots of nice welcoming touches, especially for our dogs. The house is close to Buxton and an easy drive from Bakewell and is walking distance from the High Peak bookstore and cafe.

Booked this trip last minute and was not disappointed with our choice, the instructions for parking and how to find the cottage was spot on. Less then a couple minutes walk and you’re at all the coffee shops and pubs with a short drive to other villages and all the famous walks.

The Old Timber Store was everything and more, a gorgeous little gem nestled in the Derbyshire Hills. The property itself was tastefully decorated with beautiful furnishings (I’ve definitely taken some inspiration for my own home!), and the location was lovely! The amenities in the village were wonderful and the property was so close to Haddon Hall and Chatsworth - was really easy to nip back and forth with our 6 month old daughter. A wonderful stay with lots of gorgeous walks, if you’re thinking about booking this place - do it!

Beautiful cottage set in wonderful grounds with a playhouse for the little ones. The pool was great too. Such a great place to stay, and under 10 minutes from Ashbourne. Around 30 mins to kid friendly hiking/walking in the Dales. Highly recommend.

We had a great time! Gillon and his partner were communicative in advance, really helpful and welcoming when we were there, and the house was fantastic. Would definitely return and it’s a great place to stay and explore the area!

We had a wonderful weekend here. Beautiful cottage in a gorgeous, tranquil setting with superb hosts, very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. They had thought of everything from a welcome bottle of wine and sweet treats to robes, sliders and even treats for the dog! Comfortable beds, well-equipped kitchen, lovely pool and hot tub. We will definitely return. If you’re looking for rest and relaxation in quiet and peaceful surroundings this is the place for you.

Our third stay at the Shippon and our two autistic boys treat it like a home from home. So relaxing I didn’t want to leave. Our youngest loves water and animals so swimming, hot tub, fussing the lovely dogs, feeding Monty the horse carrots, all while being followed around by the chickens. He was in heaven! A great base for visiting family and lots to do nearby if we want to. This time we went to hoo farm, but we were generally all happy to stay at the Shippon. The Shippon is spotless and to cosy and comfortable. Our dogs love sitting on the patio watching the world go by and Newport dog park is literally a 5-10 minute walk and they love it. Thanks so much Sara and Phil, you are always so helpful and friendly. Can’t wait to come back!

I would definitely revisit Jess’s place again. The location is conveniently situated just outside the bustling center, with several bus stops nearby that make it easy to reach the Trafford Center for shopping, as well as visit the iconic Manchester Football Stadium. I had a fantastic time relaxing in the evening by the cozy fire, which created the perfect atmosphere for our mini date night in the flat. The space was incredibly peaceful, allowing us to unwind and enjoy each other's company without distraction. Additionally, there are plenty of local shops and charming urban cafes within walking distance, making it a great spot for grabbing a coffee or exploring unique finds. Overall, the combination of comfort, accessibility, and a vibrant neighborhood makes it a wonderful place to stay.

We had a wonderful stay at Annabel’s and will definitely be going back asap! It was perfectly peaceful with gorgeous surroundings and was even better than the pictures! The pool was much bigger than we thought and was such a joy to have, the decking area was huge with stunning views and the garden truly magical! This was great value for money! Annabel was a fantastic host and very helpful and friendly and the animals were all very friendly too! The cats didn’t come to close though as we had our dog, who had a dream just roaming free! Thanks Annabel, be back soon !

We had a wonderful overnight stay at Uppergate farm

Had a wonderful weekend at the house - it was even better than we expected from the photos and reviews. It's a really unique property with plenty of space. The pool, sauna and garden were brilliant for a girls weekend away. Would definitely stay again!

owls loft is a gorgeous place in beautiful surroundings. lovely friendly neighbours consisting of pigs and a goat who were a pleasure to see every time we went out in the paddock. the cottage was spotless and well equipped, had everything you need . our dogs loved the large secure paddock, and the views were amazing. sue is a fantasy host who has thought of everything, lovely and friendly in communications and responds quickly. we have had a love ly relaxing few days a d would return and bring our daughter with us she would love the animals. the location is great for exploring as not far to drive to other places and the walks around the village are endless. thanks sue for a fantastic getaway

Beautiful cottage with amazing views. Fabulously appointed and modern; extremely clean. Lovely welcome pack with tea, coffee, sugar, bread, butter milk and biscuits. Much appreciated! Also appreciated were the dog bits, including a towel and treats and poo bags. Having the what3words reference was definitely a good thing, as it made finding the place really easy. Also very handy for lots of walks, both easy and difficult which can be made from the doorstep. All in all we had a wonderful time there and would highly recommend it to couples who need a relaxing break away from it all.

Sam’s place is beautiful! The decor, the location, the views, we cannot recommend enough. Sam has thought of everything you could possibly want from an air b&b, and more! Loved the music playing on arrival, the coffee machine with pods, milk, yoghurts and a beverage each in the fridge. It’s so cosy, welcoming, private, the list goes on. We do not have one negative thing to say. We can’t wait to stay again and hopefully stay longer next time! Thank you Sam!

The time just went too fast, Rose Cottage was everything we hoped it would be and more. I sell cattle feed for a living and the amount of cows made me feel right at home just great to see. Coming from Cambridge where there are hardly any cattle and big rolling fields of corn I wanted to move to the Peak District immediately. Small patchwork of fields with wonderful dry stone walls. Everyone so friendly and helpful, we walked our socks off! We found a number of very good eating places thanks to John and Vicky, nothing was too much trouble and they were so helpful without being too attentive. We knew they were always there if we needed them. We really didn't want to come home!

We had a lovely relaxing couple of nights in the Dove hut, it had everything we needed for our stay. We enjoyed sitting on the covered deck watching the birds in the trees, it's a really nice spot. Emi was a lovely host and responded quickly to my messages which was great. I would definitely recommend staying here.
