Vacation rentals with beach access in Lombardy

Wonderful stay and the view is amazing. The hosts are proactive and went extra mile to ensure not only my stay at their place but also the visit to Varenna is comfortable. They even went out of way to inform me that the trains are not working on the day of my vacating and in case I plan to leave Varenna, they suggested alternate modes and booking details. Very responsive, and kind to respond to me even at 11 pm in the night. The place is clean and cute with all you may need for a great stay. The bed is comfortable. The cute note they shared while vacating, and a beautiful handwritten“thank you “ note sealed the deal for me ❤️

Fabio was a great host. He was very proactive, to the point of telling about a train strike the day we were suppose to arrive. He allowed us to get in early and checked in with us several times to make sure we were doing well. This is a great place to stay. The view was spectacular. We would definitely stay here again.

Despite the trouble of online check in, the owner responded smoothly.

The apartment is perfect and the view from the balcony is stunning! Such a beautiful town and Stefano was a great host - I definitely recommend this apartment as a place to stay when visiting lake como :)

I don't know what to say.... The whole thing was perfect. Entering through the gate with the car and seeing our beautiful little yard, surrounded by a jasmine hedge and full of flowers shaded by olive trees right on the lakefront was amazing. In the apartment, the windows that looked right out onto the lake made it feel like there was a living painting... with sound when we left the window open. I would like to address the low ceilings in bedroom and bathroom. It is true, they are low and we are tall so we did have to duck a bit at the head of the bed and in the toilet area but it was COMPLETELY fine. The kitchen was quite well equipped and we made a bunch of lovely meals there. It was a beautiful walk along a sidewalk but then mostly along the beautiful lakefront promenade into town and we walked a few times a day with no difficulty to the ferry, the grocery store, the lungolago. Best of all was Giampaolo's mom who was AMAZING as was her strudel. A beautiful lady!!!! Perfect!

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful location. At the water, short walk to the ferry, right next to restaurants and gorgeous balcony. Andrea was very informative and so helpful and accommodating. All of the instructions and advice were much appreciated. He was available to answer our, many, questions. Thank you!

An exceptional place with an incredible view! This apartment is simply magical. After a day exploring the wonders around Lake Como, it was a real pleasure to return to this warm cocoon. The views are breathtaking, and the atmosphere of the place is peaceful and rejuvenating. We were welcomed with great kindness and generosity, which made our stay even more special. Honestly, we didn't want to leave! An unforgettable experience in a unique location.

Ettore's place was perfect for my wife and me! It matched the description well and was very clean. It is perfectly located right by the Varenna square and a short walk down to the water. Ettore picked us up off of the train and helped us get settled. Upon check-out we walked to the train station which is about 10-minutes away. The best part of the apartment is its location. Out the front door there is an excellent restaurant (Il Cavitappi) and wine shop (In Vinis Veritas). Albergo del Sole is a couple of (short) blocks away and is perfect for pizza. Gelato and breakfast stops are also very close. We rented a boat for the day and the dock is also very close to the apartment.

We spent 10 wonderful days in the house. The location is great - very quiet, with a short walk from the shore of Lake Garda. The garden is ideal for dog owners - completely fenced and safe to romp around. We will definitely come back and would like to thank Mauro again for the great hospitality. Thank Serenella for hosting us. The apartment was pristine, view was beautiful, basket was full of complimentary items. Anyone that needs some time to collect themselves and be away from civilizition and think things through, this is the spot! Thanks again .

Would recommend this spot - you are right in the middle of the busy waterfront! We loved - location (next to where we rented a boat, literally next to the funicular (this is busy frequently so we were able to watch as the line became more manageable) located just steps away from the Airbnb, VERY close to train station, very close to a supermarket, kids loved the hot tub. The host is so responsive and friendly, loved him. We received a welcome bottle of wine which was nice, thank you!! Only minus - (this was NOT terrible) but there is construction next door and they begin early (8am) which woke me up but no one else in the home. The ants, there are some ants that live in the yard in front and end up in the home - this was not overwhelming just slightly annoying.

The house is located on the road, next to the lake, in the very small village. Road is not too busy and it very quite at night, btw it’s better to have a car to get around. Big and beautiful garden with amazing view over the lake. Very nice to chill there during the breakfast. Also beach is across the street. Luigi and family are very nice hosts, responsive, showed things around and provided good tips. House itself is spacious and have plenty of space to store clothes. Big bath and shower with good water pressure. Good kitchen with all necessary appliances. Everything is very clean. Comfortable bed. Good WiFi speed. Supermarket is 15-20 min drive and there are few cafes nearby. There is ferry stop 10 min walk, which run few times a day to Bellagio. Overall, nice base to explore lake Como or just to relax at the beach and enjoy nature. Highly recommend.

Great place!! Views are amazing and the patio/backyard place is really nice to hang out at. Definitely would come back to this place! Just watch for the wind and doors closing but there are little feet door stoppers to prevent. haha not a bad problem to have! Would recommend if you’re looking for a place to stay in Varenna! We had the best time at Lorena, Carlo and Nicola’s place! The view is absolutely stunning, even better than the photos. The porch and garden are spacious and luxurious. The kitchen and bathroom have everything you need and the bed is super comfortable. Everything within the apartment is good quality - Lorena, Carlo and Nicola have thought of everything! They are very friendly and helpful, and even treated us to a delicious homemade lasagna and tiramisu on our first night, which was so appreciated after a big day of travel. Carlo also drove us to the ferry station on our last morning so we didn’t have to walk with our luggage. Thank you so much Lorena, Carlo and Nicola!

We had such a great time visiting here. It was a bit of a walk to the house but very doable. Couldn’t recommend this place enough. Riccardo was extremely responsive during our visit too. Menaggio was the perfect area to stay at Lake Como. All of the charm and half of the crowds. We Hope to come back again someday.

From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the breathtaking views. It is conveniently close to the train station and the ferry, which offered regular services to various stunning destinations. We took quick trips to Bellagio and Menaggio, both a 10-minute ride. The views were a highlight, and we found ourselves enchanted by the private garden. Each evening, we would relax with a glass of fizz, taking in the lake. A perfect way to end our day. Inside the apartment, everything was thoughtfully designed. The shower was fantastic, and beds were comfortable. With wardrobes providing plenty of storage. Our host, Marco was wonderful. He greeted us upon arrival and showed us around, providing instructions and tips about the area. Their hospitality made our stay enjoyable. The trip was romantic, as my partner planned it all - he proposed on our stay! A perfect place to celebrate. We would return in a heartbeat and highly recommended the apartment for a romantic getaway. Ryan & Katie

Awesome spot! Stayed here for one night for our honeymoon trip. Great view, easy access to great restaurants, beautiful area to walk around, and super friendly hosts. Would definitely stay here again.

Just brilliant! One of the best places we stayed in across our 3 mths in Europe!! For Lake Como it was absolutely perfect! Very highly recommended indeed!!

Had super nice days in Palanzo! Quiet area with lots of privacy, beautiful views and good coffee less than a minute's walk from the accommodation. As far as I'm concerned, the sun loungers on the terrace are worn out. Furthermore, there could be a little more coffee and tea and the pillows are on the thin side (personal). Host Donatella is super friendly and helpful and personally welcomed us and explained everything neatly. As far as we are concerned, it is recommended to stay here for a few days.

The views from the apartment are truly insane. Every window stayed open our entire trip so we could soak it all in. Rosa was very responsive especially when a landslide blocked one of the roads and she communicated an alternative route to reach the AirBnb. She also helped us out by sending us 3 taxi driver numbers when we needed a ride out of Bellagio. We enjoyed being a little off the beaten path in Careno. It was an easy walk into Nesso. FYI there is a dock at the base of Careno so if you charter a boat they can pick you up there. Highly recommend!

Lovely lakeside views, calm and peaceful; these are hard to beat. We were treated to chilled prosecco and enough coffee pods to get us through a couple days! Our host provided perfect video instruction to get in so we had the flexibility to arrive when we wanted. The space was bright in the common areas and muted in the bedroom area for sleeping. Plus two bathrooms with new showers, very well apportioned. (Remember to bring soap or body wash as it was not supplied) Drive to Bellagio less than 15 minutes—the roads in the area are windy and a bit narrow but we got used to it. We ate out but the kitchen was well set up with utensils.

We had a wonderful holiday in Ida's apartment. Her son Andrea welcomed us and explained the most important things and gave us great tips. The apartment matched the description perfectly and there were useful maps and brochures available. The location was excellent, and the terrace offered beautiful views over Desenzano, the lake, and the mountains. Nothing was missing: the kitchen was already stocked with essentials such as salt, tea, coffee, and oil. All the necessary toiletries were also provided. Ida responded to messages quickly and communication was smooth throughout. If we return to Desenzano, we would definitely stay here again.
