The Coach House will still offer one full family bathroom for guests to share (with sink, loo, shower-over-bath). The new en-suite ‘dressing room’ will contain a sink, toilet and vanity area but it no longer has a separate shower.

17th Century Peak District Cottage

Mount Pleasant Cottage was built in the 1600s and is the oldest residential property in the picturesque village of Monyash. This peaceful Peak District getaway is full of character including original oak beams, a wood-burning stove and stunning views of the surrounding countryside as well as a library of fascinating books from around the world. We are surrounded by walking and cycling routes including the Monsal Trail. Climbing and fly fishing activities nearby. The property occupies a peaceful, picturesque, backwater of Ashford-in-the-Water within easy reach of local shops and bars. We often see wildlife around the property including rabbits, pheasants, sheep, horses and sometimes woodpeckers!

Our lovely 18th century cottage was completely renovated to the highest standard in 2016 with solid oak fittings throughout offering guests luxury and homely accommodation. The cottage easily accommodates 3 people with one double bedroom with king size bed and one spacious single bedroom. The cottage has full central heating with radiators in all rooms, and under floor heating in the kitchen. For extra cosy nights there is also a log burning stove in a Derbyshire gritstone fireplace.

This lovely cottage dates back to 1570 and is thought to be the oldest in the village. It is Grade 2 listed and has a wealth of beams and character. There is a great log fire in the cosy sitting room for those long winter nights. You can begin many walks into Derbyshire countryside from the door and plenty of pubs are within walking distance.
