The Bakehouse, cosy cottage for Cotswold retreat.

We had a wonderful two days at Helen's place. Very cosy and nice. We were there in early June, it's probably even cosier in the winter with the armchairs in front of the fire place. Very nice surroundings in the quiet little village of Lechlade. I recommend hiring a car to get around the countryside.

Bank House, by Handpicked Escapes

Lovely stay at Bank House in Fairford with a welcome bottle of wine & supplies. The Bull Hotel & Colosseo served great food and were just metres away. Great base for exploring the Cotswolds.

A charming stone townhouse is displayed along a snowy street, with a sign bearing the name 'vin est...'. Two figures walk along the sidewalk, and vehicles are parked beside the curb. The scene reflects a serene winter atmosphere in the village.

The Old Wine Shop - lovely townhouse in Lechlade

PaulRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
First time holiday in Cotswolds, I can honestly say that Lachlade as a village/town is a perfect place to stay, not too touristy like the other villages, still having lots of charm and having the Thames through it is amazing, we had lots of local walks and used the shops & 3 pubs which was fantastic. The cottage is so lovely, worked perfectly with a double room & en suite for our elderly parents having and we had the master with the family bathroom. The master’s bed is the most comfortable with the bedding & pillows if ever had :-) Kitchen had everything and a great size, I made the most of the living room and fireplace where it was lovely to start the fire. Off street parking for both cars we squeezed on ok which was a big plus too. I could go on, everything was fantastic, location in a vibrant town really is a high draw card having everything walking distance (river, pubs, cafes, restaurants) this opens up the experience of having the wonderful days trips around the Cotswolds
