Cottage vacation rentals in Lismore

My friend and I chose this cottage for a quiet getaway with our dogs and it was just what we hoped it would be. We were welcomed by Barbara and Graeme upon arrival and they were very kind and helpful if we had any queries at all. The place was spotless and had everything we needed. The views from the bedrooms were stunning and there were plenty walks nearby the property, which were especially lovely in the evening with the sunsets. It was the perfect scenic escape we needed. Thank you Barbara and Graeme (and Rosie the golden retriever of course!).

A great getaway with loads to do close by for whatever mood you're in - great towns and cities like Calendar and Stirling less than half an hour away, equally beautiful countryside and multiple waterfalls, lochs and walks to choose from on the doorstep. Our toddler loved the on site swimming pool and the grown ups enjoyed the peaceful views from the hot tub too! Rosie was so friendly and accommodating.

This garden cottage was straight out of a romantic fairytale! The gorgeous garden surrounding the cottage and the view of the water and misty rolling hills framed perfectly by a stone wall and ivy were just breathtaking (especially while sitting in the wood fire heated hot tub). The cottage itself was incredibly cozy. We had nearly gotten stranded on Islay with car issues and we weren’t even sure we’d get to enjoy this stop on our holiday. By the time we arrived, we were completely exhausted from the chaos of the previous 24 hours so this relaxing and welcoming space was exactly what we needed to decompress. ☺️ The cottage was well equipped and very clean! We had everything we needed and then some. Caroline was an exceptional host. She was remarkably responsive and lovely to interact with both prior to our stay (when we weren’t sure we’d be able to make it) and during our stay! Anyone with the opportunity to stay here, should absolutely do it! Thank you for everything, Caroline!!

We had a lovely stay with our friends. Saw 3 Pine Martins run across the deck, which was exciting. The walk to the Loch is gorgeous. We came in our vintage cars and were pleased to have private parking for both. Thank you for a lovely stay in a beautiful part of Scotland, slept so well , appreciated the quality bedding and how clean the cottage was. we will return at some point.

Lovely location and David was very responsive. We had a wee problem with the hot tub and David came out to rectify it early morning when the weather was at its worst. Great hosts and take pride in their accommodation and facilities. A great break in homely accommodation with the hot tub as a lovely addition. The weather didn’t spoil our stay and enjoyed the peace and quiet of this great location.

Great location with fantastic views. The hot tub was easy to use and very nice after a long day of hiking. Beds were comfortable. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating.

We couldn’t have picked a better place to finish our week exploring Islay and Jura. The cottage is an absolute dream. A mixture of back to basics and quality amenities. Located a 10 minute drive from Craighouse but also with great walks straight from the door. The paps right on your doorstep gave us the most magical sunset sight. Rain or sun whatever the weather Jura wears it well. And Mrs Leonard’s cottage is the perfect place to come back to and either warm up in front of the fire or sip a wine or a touch of the hard stuff in the garden. I hope we will be back

Fab time. Lovely spotless cottage, comfy beds very private. Only issue there was only 3 wine glasses and there was 4 of us. So someone had to have a gin glass. But think they were happy about it. Thank you to our host, plenty of communication all questions answered. Would look to stay again should we return to Oban. Thank you

What a beautiful place! Everything was perfect (even the weather!) A truly top little cottage in a quiet, peaceful village- a place to return to!

We had a fabulous holiday and Anna's cottage was perfect, the scenery is stunning. The cottage overlooks the mountains and we caught a glimpse of the local wildlife. The cottage is central for many activities around the Glen Coe area. Thank you Anna for a wonderful stay.

Lovely cottage with beautiful views surrounded by country side. Communication was fab including hints and tips for things to do. We had a great few days and will definitely stay again. Thank you!

This is an amazing place to stay. The house is perfect for 6 people. The kitchen is very well equipped. Milk, fruit coffee and tea were thoughtful. The beds were very comfortable and the linen and towels high quality. The toiletries were a luxurious treat. The area is beautiful , fantastic views and walks. There is a field in front and then a beach. An amazing fish restaurant, shop and hotel close by. There is also the passenger ferry to Lismore from which there are even more spectacular views.

We had looked at the Bothy many times as we have visited Glencoe/Glen Etive for many years and always said we would try it out. So so glad we have eventually got round to doing it, it was everything we had imagined it to be, very clean bathroom/kitchen, beds very comfortable and a lovely log burner and central heating. Ample hot water. We will definitely be back. Thank you Sheri it was such a wonderful memorable long weekend with family we had a ball.

The Schoolhouse Cottage in Onich was a wonderful place to stay during our visit to the Highlands. Chris & Sarah were excellent hosts and the cottage itself was lovely and nicely equipped. They have taken great care with their welcome guides- extremely thorough! The cottage is in a beautiful area and the views are just stunning- we wish we could wake up to that view every day. We'd recommend this place to anyone wanting to explore Glencoe or the Highlands in general- it's in a great location to be a basecamp for exploring surrounding areas.

The house and garden were absolutely perfect for our visit. Donny and Alison were so friendly and along with Flossie and Tess they made our stay an absolute pleasure. We will definitely return.

The property was the best bnb we have stayed in. The kitchen has everything and it was the same throughout the house . The welcome pack was very generous and everything about our stay made us feel welcomed. The bathroom has a bath , shower and a small attachment for washing your hair all requirements met. The garden was private , peaceful and the views were just beautiful.When the weather wasn't too good we loved sitting on the sofa looking out on the Loch. Julie our host was very accepting with our cat and bent over backwards to accommodate our arrival and leaving times. Just up the road is a hotel called Loch Melfort which had amazing views. But to be fair you will just want to stay home get a bottle of wine and look at the fab view. What a fabulous place !

Had a very quiet and relaxing stay! The cottage was super lovely and would highly recommend it to anyone! Would definitely stay there again! Kelly was a great host!

We loved the Studio, had a great 3 day stay and hope to visit again. The Studio is large, airy, well laid out, and well equipped, and we particularly appreciated the very comfortable beds and furniture. It's set in a large garden with great views. Very quiet and peaceful. The kitchen has a wide range of everything you need when you're self catering, all very clean. For a retired couple like us, it was ideal - thank you Gordon and Maureen.

A lovely and peaceful accommodation, which was an annex to the main house. A warm welcome from the hosts on arrival, and the house was clean and well presented. In walking distance to a local shop, pub, and loch. We climbed Ben Nevis during our stay (1h15m drive) and visited Oban (20 min drive). Would definitely stay again.

Claire’s place was the perfect spot for relaxation after a day of mountain climbing! Easy access to get into town to run to the store as well as a gorgeous view of Ben Nevis!

a great place to stay, good location to explore fort William and western shores. Clickety Clack Cottage had everything you needed for a very comfortable stay. Fantastic views of loch eil, brooding Ben Nevis and Jacobite express as it passes by. Would highly recommend, Catriona very thoughtful and responsive host

We had a great weekend at Fiona’s cottage despite the rainy weather. The cottage is as described and would be absolutely delightful to sit in the beautiful garden enjoying the peaceful surroundings. The cottage is very private and well looked after. We loved lighting up the log fire in the evenings sipping a glass (or 2) of wine and watching the rain fall, absolutely magical. Fiona is a very responsive and helpful host, when we arrived at the cottage we realised there was no hot water, we contacted Fiona and whithin an hour (or less!) we had a technician come to us who solved the problem in a matter of minutes, we were very impressed by Fiona’s prompt action. We managed to bike down to Old Castle Lachlan and Kilmorie Chapel when the rain let up a bit, lovely scenery and an easy ride on our e-bikes. We dined at The Creggan’s Inn and spotted a red squirrel, 2 does and a fawn on the road down to/from The Oystercatcher, absolutely amazing! Thank you for having us Fiona, we will be back!

Fantastic place with a panoramic view of the Sound of Mull and the Island of Mull. Parking right outside, very quiet and peaceful. Beautiful accomodation, which was spotlessly clean. The kitchen had everything needed, the bathroom was lovely with the choice of a great shower or bath.

We couldn't have asked for a better stay. The cottage is exactly as described, well looked after, homely and very welcoming. We loved the décor and the little details around the cottage. We had to change our dates early on into the booking and the owners were great, we fully expected to have to cancel but they were so accommodating, we really did appreciate it. Our dog is a hound and when she gets a smell of something she can be off like a shot, the garden was perfect for us. It's fully enclosed but there is a section at the front that she could have jumped if she really wanted to (she didn't). This was clearly noted in the description before we booked but we had no worries when we were there. We just stood in front of that section if we thought we needed to. We would highly recommend and hopefully we'll get back there ourselves for another relaxing time.
