Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Lake Victoria

The solar house very quickly became our second home over the 7 months we stayed there. We were beyond thankful for Damian, Anna, and their precious children who were extremely kind, helpful, available and attentive. The solar house is an ideal location for families. Our two young children loved the home and the compound and it was within walking distance of their school. The solar house is a bright and welcoming home - and it has smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detector which are nearly non-existent in Mwanza! We highly recommend this house for short or long term stays. We hope very much to be back! Asante sana Damian, Sam & Ina!

We had a lovely family stay at Brittany's beautiful home. It is located a very walkable distance to local backpackers/restaurants and the neighborhood is very peaceful and comfortable. The house itself is lovely -- well-equipped with plenty of space and comfortable amenities. We would absolutely stay there again.

Ashraf's place is as displayed. Very clean and comfortable. The host was kind to let me checkin early and there was care taker on stand by to help with anything. Definately a rebook when in Kampala next.

December 2924 I had a warm and beautiful stay at the Exquisite. It is exquisite indeed! Very spacious, and you have a beautiful view of Lake Victoria. Phelyx has outstanding security measures. Not far from the Airport thus made trips to and from the airport easier since I had to go back Mombasa as well. I felt very safe at the Exquisite. Phelyx and his Caretaker Christiano were very attentive and responded swiftly whenever I needed anything. He has a boda boda guy that can do grocery shopping for you as well. That was very convenient 👍🏾 I miss the fresh mangoes already 😃 Thank you Phelyx and look forward to booking with you again. Happy New Year to you and your family 🎉

Our experience was absolutely fantastic, and I cannot thank the Musiimentas enough for being such incredible hosts. They stayed in touch throughout our visit, frequently checking in to ensure we were comfortable and accommodating any needs we had with great flexibility. Their hospitality truly enhanced our stay. The property was beyond perfect for our group. It effortlessly accommodated all seven of us, providing ample rooms and parking space. Additionally, the location was ideal. We found ourselves conveniently close to city attractions while enjoying the safety and tranquility of the area. Overall, we had an amazing time and would highly recommend The Mbuya Residence to anyone looking for a wonderful getaway. Thank you once again for everything!

LOVED it so much we came back! I booked it last minute on the day as we had to check out of a different AirBnB a day early due to a power cut and no alternatives however Mbabazi was very quick to respond and truly saved the day by letting us stay at his lovely home with such short notice. Tutto perfetto, casa pulita e ordinata, ben arredata, acqua calda ottima, c'è sicurezza al cancello e una signora che gestisce le pulizie. Avuto anche servizio lavanderia rapidissimo. La signora mi ha indicato un driver di fiducia e i ristoranti. Unica nota negativa mancava il sapone in casa ma mi era stato detto in anticipo. C'è una moschea nelle vicinanze che fa il richiamo alla preghiera molto rumoroso durante la notte e tanti cani che abbaiano, ma ovviamente l'host non può farci nulla e in Uganda sono cose comuni.

Alvin communicated well from the moment I was considering his apartment until when I left.He got on the phone to give guidance on how to arrive at the apartment when the driver was lost. He put a lot in the apartment and it's exactly as it is and even better (if I can say so). He also ensure that I had everything, even went out to make a last minute purchase to achieve this. He had Dennis (the caretaker) available to support as needed as well and it was easy to gain access to the apartment. I would absolutely stay here whenever I am in town and I would highly recommend.

I had the pleasure of staying at this lovely Airbnb from May 18th to May 31st, 2025, and I can honestly say it was one of the most memorable and comforting stays I’ve ever had. From the moment I walked in, the space felt warm, welcoming, and incredibly homey like a place you’ve known forever. Angel was extremely kind and welcoming, Before my stay she was always available to respond to my queries. I have appreciated a lot her flexibility on many topics to easy my arrival and stay. The place is well situated, nice, calm area with an interesting supermarket nearby. I recommend strongly!

The Apartment was really nice and it looked exactly like the pictures. Stuart was always available and very helpful, and the caretaker also took good care of us. All in all, we felt very comfortable; it was a great stay in Kampala. Thank you!

Our stay with Janat was amazing! It was a bit tricky to find as the building itself is not labelled however we were able to communicate with Janat and she was very helpful and quick to respond. The apartment was beautiful and clean. Amenities worked such as hot water, wifi, washer, fridge etc. the building is gated with a gateman watching over. 5/5 stars! Thank you Janat for all your fast responses and willingness to help out where needed. I would definitely recommend this place to family and friends.

I've stayed by Iris's place for over a month, and had a wonderful stay. The unit was very clean, equipped with everything you may possibly need, very conveniently located; well established communication with the host. Highly recommended!

This is my 4th stay at Carlos' place, definitely a home away from home for me. Everything about our stay from communication with Angie to the apartment itself was excellent. I cannot recommend this place enough. It was such a wonderful stay according to feedback from family, the place very spacious in a luxurious style, the location was top notch. The cleanliness was outstanding along with good communication from Jackline. I would recommend anyone to have taste of Jackline’s place because it brings satisfaction and very secure.

Maria’s place was amazing felt like home. Syson was amazing as well, so helpful and always available. If it’s your first trip to Africa or even Uganda I would highly recommend this place. Kampala is an awesome but crazy city and this is a nice quiet private little pocket of paradise. I will be coming back and renting again!

Ashley is the host you hardly forget about even after leaving her place -a beautiful human-. She ensured we had a pleasant stay at her place, welcoming us in person, ushering us into the apartment and providing recommendations on activities and restaurants to visit. She was proactive and always available to respond to our queries. The apartment looks same as in the pictures. The kitchen is well equipped and this really helped as we prefer to eat home cooked food. Everything was clean and neat. It will definitely be our choice next time we return to Kampala.

I like this place. it's spacious, luminous, and close to shops and restaurants. it's a quite place and the swimming pool is an added plus to entertain children during the weekend. The apartment very clean and the host very responsive
