Vacation rentals with a fire pit in Lake Cowichan

The Swell House is the best home we have ever stayed at, anywhere, in the past 10+ years we've been on Airbnb. Waking up to beautiful views of the water, the sound of the waves, sipping a warm mug of coffee while bird watching, are just the start of each incredible day of our weekend. We also decompressed in the private sauna facing the water at sunset. Inside the home, every room was stocked with everything you could possibly need, including some personal touches and extreme attention to detail. The expansive yard was perfect for our dogs, and also had a bountiful garden growing fresh veggies. We enjoyed using the grill each night accompanied by the produce. In the evenings, we relaxed by the wood burning stove and listened to the record collection. Throughout the weekend I barely used my phone as I felt so relaxed and connected with the coast. We will definitely be visiting again and we look forward to our next stay at the Swell House!

We had a wonderful stay. Devanie was amazing, she went extra mile to get us an anti-slip mat and make sure we have enough propane gas for the BBQ grill. The surrounding was delightful, we were lucky to see a few deers in the backyard as well as a double rainbow. Will definitely try again during summer!

Josie was a fantastic host. Flexible, responsive, and helpful in providing local recommendations for an area we were new to. The house and property are beautiful, peaceful, and unique. Can't recommend highly enough!

We loved the location, it was better than the description, the host gave us a detailed information of whatever we needed to know, I would definitely recommend this place. It is a piece of heaven. Two local pubs and cafes, what worked so good for us were the chargers for our electric cars. The view was extraordinary.

This was the second time we stayed at the Haidaway each stay was for a full month. Clearly we love it there, lovely accommodation in a super location. We did lots of hiking and sightseeing. Five stars all the way!

The Ravens nest is perfect. Clean, quiet, friendly hosts. We stayed a week and didn't want to leave. The space is well laid out with a small sitting room at the front with a view of the entrance to Active pass and Miners Bay. There are loads of extras like condiments in the fridge, coffee pods (2 per day) sugar, food wraps, etc. Tim and Patti were very friendly but never intrusive. Although the suite is on the bottom level we never really heard any sounds from them. I recommend 100 percent. Thank you Tim and Patti!

This is a true gem and an amazing space to stay in while visiting the West Coast and would stay here again over and over. The outdoor space was well designed for privacy and feels like you’re on your own in the great outdoors to enjoy a campfire and the beautiful outdoor tub was spectacular and such a treat. We loved all the extra amenities and the space was very well designed indoors and felt like home.

We had a wonderful stay- the location is gorgeous and the condo was even better than the photos. Everything was clean and beautifully decorated. A beautiful place to recharge.

It was a very pleasant stay. Woke up to dear roaming around, super cool. Michelle is very responsive and the home is super cozy!

We absolutely loved this place! I booked it for the location directly on the bay as well as its proximity to the Northwesternmost point of the US where we were going. Everything was clean and neat. I will definitely be staying here again.

Deanna is a great host very accommodating and responsive. This is our second time staying at her place. Location is perfect to watch our son racing who was participating in Shawnigan regatta. Looking forward to stay here again next year!

Amazing experience from start to finish. Easy, simple and a property that exceeded our expectations. The view is second to none. The place is very comfortable and well laid out inside and out. Everything was awesome and I’d highly recommend a stay. It wil not disappoint.

The place was very well maintained and stocked up on necessities. Jordan was quite active and responsive in answering a questions we had. The neighborhood is very peaceful and well connected with the city. We had a great time and definitely recommend it for a weekend getaway.

The place was really cozy and private. The view was amazing! We loved our stay there and Karli always was responsive:) She also has really friendly cat which kept us company in Karli’s lovely garden:)

We really loved our stay at Michele's. The property is beautiful with tons of wildlife and really well located so it was easy to walk to various places. We hope to stay here again

Overall really loved it.. its quite rustic as described but very peaceful and well put together. The bed in particular was amazingly comfortable and has a nice huge window. Kitchen is quaint with plenty of amenities.. but we noticed the cups were a bit grimy looking so didnt use those. The ladder to the loft could be adjusted.. where it meets the wall pinches fingers so you cant actually hold the rail the whole way up.. minor thing. The exterior is really nice.. some chairs around the fire and a picnic table. One thing we didnt expect was you do have to chop our own wood. There is a block and axe setup so it was actually kind of fun, and it was likely in the description and we just missed it. We did not use the interior stove so cannot comment, but the place was plenty warm. The outdoor shower was ok.. took a LONG time to get hot water.. and could use a shelf. There is a creek path.. could really do with updating the sign to say its washed out! Do not attempt it!

Gorgeous space and location! Having 2 outdoor spaces with lots of seating was amazing. The beds are comfy; the windows make it seem like you are in the trees. Great little book with tips for the area. I would stay again!

Port Renfrew is a wonderfully beautiful remote location that's definitely worth exploring. After being out on the beaches and hiking trails all day, Tim's cabin was the perfect place to come back to and relax. It's the cutest cabin with everything you need to make yourself comfortable. I appreciated how clean the cabin was on arrival. And Tim is indeed a Superhost! He's extremely responsive and I felt very welcome. I'll definitely be back!

It's a very quiet, beautiful area in a quaint cabin. We were unfortunately a week or two too early for the season so nearly nothing was even open in the neighborhood despite getting tips on where to go from the hosts, but it was still nice to have some nature time.

We loved our stay. It is the perfect little spot to relax. We loved listening to all the birds and making use of the lovely fire pit. It was a great ‘home-base’ to check out Botanical Beach and the Sooke potholes. It’s exactly as pictured and described.

Amazing experience! We had a wonderful stay here. The place was clean, and we enjoyed using the kayaks and paddle boards. The hot tub was spacious, and the hosts were responsive and supportive throughout our stay. We’ll definitely go back again in the summer.
