Lake Atitlán fishing places to stay

This is by far the best Airbnb I have ever stayed at. I’ve traveled to a lot of Airbnb’s in many different countries and none compare to this. Finding this place is surely an adventure but once you are there, you don’t want to leave! I can’t say enough good things about the chefs that will cook you every meal. We had them do all the shopping for our meals along with other items we wanted such as water and beer. The housekeeper services that help coordinate private boat rides to other villages, keeping the place clean, or even small things such as turning on the hot tub while we are away are truly incredible perks of this place. The property and views are just amazing and I can’t wait to come back here for my next stay!

This Airbnb is what Airbnb was supposed to be 10 years ago. It’s not just another property from a manager that you never see. Jean was very warm welcoming and welcomed us herself on our arrival. She was very proactive by giving us some tips from what to do, where to go or eat. She answered really quickly and helped us organized some massage sessions. The property is as described. The heated pool, the private beach and dock. Be aware that there are a lot of steps in the property and that arriving there from San Marcos may be a little difficult because of the road. But in my opinion those aren’t a problem after you see how beautiful it is there. I hope I can return one day

We loved staying at Nicolas’ home! It was so peaceful and beautiful. The views are amazing and loved waking up to a beautiful view in the morning. Although our trip was short, we enlisted every minute of it! The location is a bit far from the lively cities but the boat rides are pretty consistent so getting around was not difficult at all. Not to mention Nicola’s had recommended to us the best way of transportation around cities so that was help for sure.

This place was absolutely beautiful. The ladies that came and cooked for us were amazing. Food was amazing and so worth hiring them to cook for us. There really isnt anywhere to get food from around the area. Josue went and purchased the groceries for us and made sure that we had everything we needed. I cant wait to book this place again.

We had a little family vacation here and it was everything is was advertised to be and more! The staff are all very helpful and responsive. Salvador the property manager was incredible! From keeping the pool clean between our times in to doing grocery runs into the city, he was amazing. All the activities listed were so fun and very family friendly! The rooms were all very clean and there was even bug spray to help with the incests outside. All the local contacts for boat and tour services were also incredibly sweet. Very considerate, accommodating and for a friendly price! Overall, we would definitely consider coming back should we ever want to visit Atitlan and the surrounding towns.

Highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful and private place in Santa Cruz. The view is stunning, the house is breezy and full of natural light, and the garden is an oasis. We worked remotely from the loft above with a view of the lake, and the windows letting in the breeze… the Starlink internet was seamless. Town/dock was 5-10 min walk from the house, and town/ATM was a short tuk tuk ride up the hill. Miguel was extremely helpful, always readily available, communicative and with a great attitude. He met us at the dock in Panajachel with a pre booked private transport and helped bring our bags up to the house. We also booked the private chef experience with Manuela and she was amazing… so sweet, punctual, and made us healthy, tasty lunches to enjoy while we worked. She even made us a refreshing drink with a cucumber from her garden, and set the table for us outside to we could eat while enjoying the nice weather. We learned a lot from chatting with her! Lovely people & stay!

This home was incredible! Not only is the location fantastic - private, right on the lake, easy to drive to, walkable to San Marcos - but it is decorated, furnished and staffed to feel like a luxury getaway. I would recommend taking the staff up on the option to have a chef and massage therapist come during your stay. I cannot say enough good things about this place. It was the perfect getaway for our family and we look forward to returning.

The Airbnb is absolutely gorgeous, it comfortably slept all of us in the 4 large bedrooms. The bathrooms showers had great pressure and heat. Rudy and Maria were fantastic and Attentive to all our needs and made the best meals. The pool was definitely needed and we had a great time enjoying all the lake had to offer. Highly recommend.

What a great stay! Nelson made sure we had everything we needed, every question was answered and resolved. We loved all the great amenities of the house and felt right at home. Was a delight to have the opportunity to spend with my husband, my son and his girlfriend. We all had our own private accommodations, with shared community spaces and places for alone time! Was a peaceful, beautiful setting! We absolutely loved our host. Thanks so much for allowing us to stay at your villa!

I still can't believe how wonderful this place was. If you're looking for peace and quiet in a beautiful setting, this is it. Heavenly. Fast Internet, great host, convenient, clean. Everything about it was perfect.

The host was very attentive to everything and they were very, very, very kind. The arrival is as advertised, you have to walk and climb stairs but it's worth it when you get to the view and the 3 floors are beautiful. Unfortunately, we were there right at the weekend of the Mother's Day celebration and in the village they started the celebration at dawn so we couldn't sleep comfortably, but we understand that it's out of the host's hands. Everything else was excellent! Especially the view.

The house was beautiful. Right on the lake with Cristal clear water to just jump in when waking up. We loved it!

Augustus’s place is a dream location in Lake Atitlan. San Marcos La Laguna is a great place to get away of the hustle and bustle of other towns, while still remaining close to the lake and maintaining the ability to bop around easily. With a dock just 30 seconds away, you have easy transport to any other area on the lake. We also enjoyed the peace and privacy of the location. The space and property were beautiful and we could tell very well taken care of and well-loved. The views were immaculate. The decor and craftsmanship blew us away. What took our stay to the next level was Augustus’s kindness and hospitality leading up to and throughout our stay and finally, the wonderful meal his partner cooked for us on our last morning. My lifelong girlfriends and I will remember this trip forever. If you’re looking to make magical memories and take in nature’s beauty, this is the place!

Little paradise in Santa Cruz, the garden is just something else - it is so magic to wake up every morning with plenty of hummingbirds flying around. The house has everything you need and a lot of privacy, even when Andres (the gardener) is around. Joanne instructions were super helpful and we felt at home, would definitely come back!!

This Airbnb was absolutely amazing! The location is perfect, with easy access to everything including the town center and dock. Our property managers Chris and Kris were incredibly helpful and responsive, which made the stay even better. We arrived at 12:30 and Chris welcomed us and gave us a tour even before our check in time. There are also tons of on-site activities available (for an extra cost), which added so much value to our trip. If you're visiting San Marcos, this is the place to stay. Everything was great, although the bathroom was a little smaller than desired and the shower space was not well designed.

I cannot describe how beautiful and peaceful Casa Julia is. A slice of paradise. Hollie provided clear instructions and provided numbers for local drivers and Markus to assist us during our stay. We will definitely be returning if possible!

Sofistication felt in love with Simplicity in this piece of heaven on Earth. Can’t wait to go back.

This was truly a magical stay. The views from the treehouse were absolutely breathtaking—whether lounging on the bed or relaxing on the balcony, we had 24-hour panoramic views of the volcano, the lake, and the village of Tzununa. Our hosts, Melinda and Clint, were incredibly responsive and helpful with anything we needed. The space itself is beautifully designed, and the addition of a coffee bar made each morning something to look forward to. The hike up to the treehouse was more intense than I expected, but to be fair, the listing does prepare you for it. One thing to be aware of: spiders are part of the experience. At first, the large spiders were a bit unsettling, but after Melinda and Clint reassured us they were harmless, I quickly got used to them. Eventually, I hardly noticed them at all. The ants were a bit more persistent—especially around food and the coffee bar—but nothing a quick spray of bug repellent couldn’t handle. Overall, I was very satisfied with this stay!

This is the absolute most beautiful and the best air bnb I’ve ever stayed in! The house was beautiful inside & out. The views of Lake Atitlan were breathtaking. The people were so helpful and friendly as well, it would have not been such a great experience without them! Highly recommend staying in this beautiful home when visiting Lake Atitlan. We will definitely come back again!

Amazing getaway. Incredible house and surrounding property. Stunning views and easy boat transport from the dock down by the private lakefront beach. Boat shuttles during the day to and from nearby Panajachel are included. Host and groundskeeper were very helpful in coordinating boat rides. Kitchen fully equipped - we cooked dinner for 3 nights.

Christian is an excellent host, quick to respond and thoughtful, even recommending a great restaurant and dish to try on the way. The house is beautiful, with a stunning front-lake view from the lounge/terrace. It's peaceful, away from the town noise, and tuktuks make getting around easy. Staying here was a fantastic experience.

I stayed at Balam Ya Rentals and it was truly one for the books. The property felt luxurious, spacious, and incredibly private—perfect for a restful retreat by Lake Atitlán. From the private driveway and designated parking space to the lush surroundings, everything about the space invited relaxation. What made the experience especially memorable was the attentive and kind team. They were always available to help us coordinate taxis, meals, and even a private boat to explore the lake and its surrounding villages. While some services came at a higher-than-average price, the level of comfort, ease, and care made it more than worth it. If you’re looking for a peaceful, elevated experience in Lake Atitlán with top-tier hospitality and privacy, this is the place.

Host was very helpful, hot tub was a nice touch. His wife was very kind and sent us to her brothers kayak rental shop and gave us one hour for free.
