At first glance, the Kobe-based Nishimura Group, an abandoned house renovation group, felt the potential of the place that had finished its role and set its sights on it. In August 2023, they opened an "art hotel where you can stay" based on the concept of "urban secret base". The total area is 93 m². The entire 3-story building has been renovated. * The hotel part is on the 2nd and 3rd floor & rooftop The second floor is a living space and the third floor is a separate bedroom, so it can be used by couples, families, and groups. The interior takes advantage of the texture of the concrete and is an open space with the ceiling removed. The stylish design, unimaginable from the old appearance, will stimulate your senses. Also equipped with an island kitchen using a huge single board. It is also ideal as a small event venue. The open rooftop space is particularly noteworthy. This place used to be one big guesthouse, but during Covid19, I have stopped running the guesthouse and I moved in with my wife and 2 kids. Still I didn't want to give up so I left the good parts. Kumo machiya Kazahaya was all made by woods, we keep the original style. The structure of this villa is つしにかいtsushinikai. Since Edo period, this kind of design was to ensure all the civilians are not stand on 2nd floor to look while the Samurai passing by, so the 2nd floor is short than 1st floor. Another feature of this villa is むしこまどmushikomado. Normally this kind of window on 2nd floor, looks like a cage of bug.
