Number 44 gateway to connemara.

AnnetteRating, 5 stars6 days ago
we loved our stay in no 44 in Oughterard. The house is immaculate and beautifully decorated. The pictures don't do it justice. We were left a lovely little welcome basket with goodies for the kids which they were delighted with. The house has everything you could need and we cooked aswell as ate out for the week we stayed. The beds are very comfortable and the shower is lovely. Towels were super soft. The location is perfect. If u walk 5 mins around the corner from the house u have a beautiful river walk in to the village. Highlights in the village for us were powers thatched bar/restaurant. Food was superb. 10/10. The bookshop cafe also lovely, staff were friendly and the food was great value and tasty. We had the most beautiful homemade soup and bread. Oughterard itself has plenty to see but it's also a great stepping stone to see connemara, spiddal, galway city. Kenneth our host was extremely responsive and helpful when we had a tiny problem. He went out of his way to accommodate.

Spacious double room with en- suite

I can highly recommend staying at Brid’s home to anyone travelling through Connemara. The bedroom was very spacious and bedroom and bathroom were spotlessly clean. Brid is very kind and a wonderful host. Before my stay, she was always quick to answer online. The continental breakfast was very good. You can reach the house by car and also by bus, as it is only a 5-minute-walk up from the main road. The location is quiet and the surroundings are beautiful.

The exterior of the dormer bungalow showcases a stone accent entrance with a modern door. Planters containing various flowers line the front steps, and large windows allow natural light into the interior. The roof is adorned with gabled dormers, enhancing the architectural appeal.

Our stay at Susan and Tony's was very nice! We were warmly welcomed by the hosts, they were easy to talk to and gave us recommendations for food nearby. The room was very clean and comfortable with all the amenities necessary for our stay. We strongly recommend this accomodation and we would definitely stay there again !

Cozy room and a totally renovated bathroom. I slept like a dream, and the champagne hour, & dinner/breakfast offerings are truly incredible! Thank you for such a lovely stay! 🥰

Frank's cottage (double room & light breakfast!)

We would love to give 6 out of 5 stars. Linda is an emphatic host and helps with everything you need, incl. Tips for the area. You feel welcome and feel at home. The accommodation and interior are functionally thought out (including a great shower!) and we felt as comfortable as we could wish. Thank you Linda, it was wonderful and it was a pity that it was only two nights that we could spend with you. We highly recommend both the host and the accommodation.

Claregalway Castle - River Room (1st Floor)

Staying here was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The moment we drove through the gates, our jaws literally dropped—the castle is absolutely breathtaking in person! From start to finish, everything about our stay was magical. Our hosts were so warm and welcoming, and even gave us a personal tour of the castle grounds after a delicious breakfast. Our room was immaculate, cozy, and full of charm—we loved every second of it. As an added bonus, we were greeted by their adorable local cat, Elizabeth, who instantly made us feel at home. The location is also fantastic—just a short walk to several great restaurants, making it easy to explore and enjoy the local cuisine without needing to drive. I can’t recommend this place enough, 10/10!

We had a good time at Páidís place. The room was spacious and really nice. Everything was as it has been discribed. Even though we did not meet our hosts in person the communication was good. There is only one thing to take in consideration when staying in this accomodation: it is not exactly close to anything and you better have a car to get around!

Friendly home on Wild Atlantic Way, Galway (2).

DylanRating, 5 stars3 days ago
Staying at Dolores’s place truly felt like a home away from home. She was incredibly welcoming, especially to our baby, which made all the difference. Waking up to homemade jams and a lovely little breakfast felt like sitting in Nan’s kitchen, having a chat over a cup of tea. Dolores has such a kind and comforting presence, and she made us feel so at ease. Our only regret is not staying longer—she even offered, but sadly we’re headed back home. If you’re in Galway, this is the kind of place that stays with you.
