Vacation rentals with a fireplace in Kessingland

Dunwich is a beautiful seaside village with an interesting history. Beach was good (by North Sea standards but be sure to either have feet like old boots or preferably a pair of swimming shoes. The house is perfect for a family get as ours was with grandparents, maiden aunts, youngish couple and a toddler. Everything you could need and more.

What can I say that hasn’t already been said in previous reviews. Marian was a fabulous host and also Michelle, who oversees the running of Old Chapel House. We arrived to find the table in the kitchen all set out for dinner. Great fun was had in the evening playing croquet in the fabulous garden and then games around the kitchen table. Fresh flowers in each of the rooms was a lovely touch. Knowing one of my sons was home for our family wedding at Waxham Barn, Marian had arranged an Australian pineapple cake for us to enjoy, together with locally sourced marmalade and apple juice. It was also helpful to find plenty of items such as tea, coffee, condiments etc. My one request to my family was for a slice of sourdough bread, delivered on the Saturday morning, be left for me after having my hair and makeup done. Sadly, it had all been demolished! The house clearly was a previously well loved family home. We had a fantastic stay and will most definitely be returning.

This is one of the best decorated places I've stayed in in 12 or so years using AirBnb. A really nice place to be, comfortable, homely with everything I needed for the stay. Kitchen had all the essentials and more, the addition of milk in the fridge and two delicious pain au chocolat were an added bonus. The shower is fantastic, the armchairs are very comfortable to sit in (something other accommodation frequently get wrong) and the bed was really comfortable. A great place to stay.

We had the most amazing stay. The house was perfect in every way. Penny was fantastic and couldn't help us enough. We will definitely be visiting again soon.

Easy walking distance into the centre of town & beach. Property really clean and comfortable.

We had a great stay at Emma’s place, it was suitable for 5 adults and we had more than enough space. The area is peaceful, parking is easy and the cottage is easy to find. We were surprised by how big & well equipped the kitchen was, and everything was spotlessly clean too. There’s a lovely garden out the back which is great for the nicer weather.

Lovely stylish house in a convenient location, a short walking distance to high street shops, brewery, pier and beaches. It is also handy to the bus stop for local villages and Norwich. The kitchen is very well equipped. Lobster shack in the garden was great for relaxing in the sun. Bed was comfortable and the shower pressure and temperature good in the spotless bathroom. Helen was quick to reply to my queries. I would stay again if I return to Southwold.

The house is stunning. We were a party of 6 adults and a baby for joint birthday celebrations. The kitchen and lounge layout was superb for cooking, lounging and celebrating and so light with the huge windows making it feel as if the garden and house were one. The bedrooms were all big, the beds and bedding beautiful quality. Showers were great. The layout of the house suited us very well with a good distance between lounge/ kitchen area and bedrooms so as not disturb a sleeping baby in the day or evening. Lots of games left for entertainment in and outside the house. The hot tub and BBQ were a huge hit, easy to light and maintain. We wouldn't hesitate to stay again, really very happy to have found Rumi's Field. Thank you to Alice and Andrew who were so helpful when we had some extra questions before staying.

we had the most fantastic stay and will definitely be back. we've been to lowestoft before but the location here made it even better. sea views from the apartment. the place is immaculate. I was worried about noise from neighbours as we usually stay in houses, but it's over 2 floors with the bedrooms being on the top floor - perfect. the kitchen is brand new as are the bathrooms, no expense has been spared. the beds are very comfy and the linen was amazing. even a bottle of bubbly waiting for us - thank you! our only very minor quibble was the blinds in the bedrooms don't fully cover the windows, we wore eye Masks which was no drama but our 6 year old was up very early every morning. next time we will pack a travel black out blind. that's our only very minor issue in a perfect and stunning apartment. thank you 😊

We had a lovely time staying at Emma's place. It was in a wonderful location with great access to the sea front, shops, galleries and restaurants. Everything was easily accessible and although the flat was on the High Street it was very quiet inside. The cooking facilities in the flat were perfect to make a simple meal which we did several times during our stay. The flat itself was very spacious and light inside. Finally, the response time of our host was excellent and they always answered our messages promptly. Thank you for an enjoyable stay!

We had a fabulous stay at Lime Tree lodge! So nice to enjoy the hot tub in the evening and relax. Very peaceful and comfortable. Thank you!

My wife and I had wanted to explore Norwich and the surrounding areas, so we booked a week in 15 Clarendon Road. Not only was it extremely well appointed and felt like 'home from home' from the outset, but all communication, both with the agent, Swift, and directly with the owner, Andrew, was pleasant, friendly and efficient. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would certainly look to book Clarendon Road again when staying in Norwich.

Lovely place in a great location with beautiful surroundings. We were welcomed with freshly baked bread and homemade made jam. We've stayed at other Airbnbs but the amenities provided made this place stand above the rest.

Really beautiful flat, great location for exploring nearby restaurants and bars. There can be a little noise from diners outside Pizza Express, but I found if you put on the fan in the bedroom it drowns it out. Great communication from host, arranged for someone to meet us with the key and show us in. Parking space is a bonus in this central location and is in a secure garage. Recommended property and host.

I took my two kids to stay at Moat Island for a couple of nights during Half Term whilst we visited relatives nearby. It was the perfect mid-point location, but also felt like a special and memorable site. The bell tents are cosy and warm, and the composting toilet next to ours was the nicest I’ve ever used. I found myself going to it repeatedly when I only needed to walk about 20m more to get to the plumbed indoor ones! We enjoyed having a communal kitchen area, as it allowed us to chat to a few our ‘neighbours’. The outdoor pond/pool was utterly freezing, but worth a dip. And thankfully the nearby showers were gloriously warm.

Had an absolutely gorgeous stay for my friends hen do celebrations. Being greeted on arrival with a stunning view of the chapel-esque part of the building with the flowers all in bloom. Then you walk down the side path that makes you feel like you're walking into the secret garden or the herbology classes at Hogwarts, simply unbelievable. Sophie was a great host, very friendly, understanding and helpful. Check in instructions were clear and easy to follow. Towels and extremely comfortable beds/bedding provided. Lots of essentials in the pantry. It was absolutely perfect, everyone was in awe and it made for a very memorable weekend. The weather wasn't on our side so we didn't get to use the outside space, but with such a gorgeous interior it didn't matter at all. The cleaner Heidi was also wonderful on check out. It's not cheap (May half term weekend didn't help) but it's not a cheap environment and we'd pay it again in a heartbeat. Highly recommend! Thank you Sophie and Heidi!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We were in Suffolk for a 3 day wedding as an extended family group and the house was the perfect base. The house is very comfortable- especially the beds - and everything has been thought of. It is also very very clean. The courtyard is beautiful. We would thoroughly recommend!

Stayed here with my partners family for the weekend, we had such a lovely time. We made good use of the pool table and the football table. It was very spacious with 7 of us and 2 little dogs. Would definitely recommend!

Fabulous house in a beautiful area. House was incredibly well equipped and everything was a really high quality. Loads of essentials in the fridges and high end toiletries in all bathrooms. Cant recommend Jacqui enough as a wonderful host. And really dog friendly.
