Thank you to this traditional old house for making our trip a pleasant experience and for the patience of the host.We are very satisfied with this trip, the construction of the homestay is very good, and the location is convenient!

What an amazing place to stay! You step back in time. The house looks full of history and has a small garden and outdoor tub! Koji and Eri are great hosts, friendly, responsive and welcoming. They have a lot of recommendations about the area. Just keep in mind that there are steep steps to the second floor and also if you’re very tall there is a possibility of head bumping :) The area itself is very convenient and we walked to many places of interest. Can recommend this property to any adventurous traveler!

Great location! Nishiki market was a 2 minute walk. Family mart was just around the corner. Everything was close and convenient. We love the free refreshments and some nice gifts when we arrived. We love it so much we’re already planning my next trip. LOL

Great communication. Check in was easy. They even helped us ship our luggage at the end of our stay.

Our family enjoyed our stay here. Small friendly neighborhood. Lots of great food a few minutes away. Highly recommend this place and service given by Yusuke! If you come to Kyoto this is the place to stay!

We had a great stay at this Airbnb! The property is beautifully maintained, and one of the highlights was the serene koi ponds that added a peaceful, relaxing vibe to the entire experience. The space is thoughtfully designed with great amenities — coffee, sugar, salt, pepper, oil, butter, cookware, multiple sinks and separate bathroom areas made it super convenient for our group of 6. It was easy for several people to get ready at the same time without feeling crowded. The owner also went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable, even bringing us air fresheners — such a thoughtful and responsive host. Overall, it’s a perfect spot for a group or anyone looking for a calm, well-equipped place to stay. Highly recommend!

Our family of four had a wonderful stay at Hana’s machiya, it was a highlight of our trip. It was much more comfortable than staying in a hotel and we got the experience of living in an authentic Japanese style home. The house is beautiful, tastefully furnished, well-equipped, extremely clean and well-maintained. We enjoyed our morning coffee and tea with a view of the lovely Japanese garden. The hosts were extremely responsive and thoughtful. We would love to come back and stay there again.

If you want a quiet place in a great location, book this place. It’s close to a subway station and there are so many little bars, restaurants and shops in walking distance. The bed is ENORMOUS and the host is so helpful and responsive. And the luggage hold is a LIFESAVER. Fabulous stay!

We had a good stay. Mineral noise since it was in a residential area. Walkable to public transit and Nishiki Market. AC was very good. Washer and dryer worked well for small loads.

We loved our stay at Yamano’s place. The neighborhood was beautiful and quiet, but it was just a short walk to the river, bus stop, and train station. The hosts were extremely responsive and kind. They met us at check in to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. They also sent suggestions for restaurants and things to do in the area.

Nice house in a quiet neighborhood. Location gives fantastic access to the city through the Green Line (Karasuma). Easy to access from Kyoto Station shinkansen. Less than ten minute walk to the Aeon Mall. All facilities in working order. The washing machine is very useful in extending the usefulness of your carried clothing.

We had a wonderful stay at the Cozy Cottage. The house was very clean and spacious. For us, the best part was the location. It truly felt like we were locals living in the community where Cozy Cottage is located. All of the staff were also very friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful time, and the stay definitely made our time in Kyoto extra special. I would recommend this stay to anyone looking for a bit of a slower pace in Kyoto.

I can’t say enough great things about Uzu’s place. It was so clean and comfortable. When we checked in she was very thorough about the house and also about the surrounding areas and places to go. She had a great hand drawn map of the area that we actually used a lot! The traditional beds we chose to sleep in were very comfortable. Everything in the house is labeled which makes it very easy to find things. Uzu went out of her way to show us local restaurants and spots to try. She is a very friendly host that cares about making her guests stays very enjoyable! One thing we found was that it was a bit out of the way of central Kyoto. However, if you want to experience a quiet traditional neighborhood this is the spot! It’s about a 10 min walk to the closest train station or bus stop. This house is lovely awesome and perfectly clean. Our stay was wonderful and more worth the price. The private onsen inside the tiny Japanese garden is beautiful. The location is very quiet, near the river and less 5 minutes by walk from the station and konbini. Everything you need is provided inside the house, so you don’t have to worry about

The ryokan is beautiful, typically Japanese and suitable for our trip with the large family. We admired the beautiful sliding doors, the typical floor, the large French doors and especially the incredibly wonderful Japanese garden every day.

Natalie has been a superb host. She is very thoughtful and extremely helpful. She assisted us with receiving our luggage at her property and offered to assist with our luggage when we left. She met us before leaving to the next city. Her place is very beautiful. It speaks a lot about Japanese culture and gives you an insight into the local Japanese home in Kyoto.

Yukiko was amazing, we lost our key and she came to give us the spare key late at night. Great host and great place, highly recommend here to everyone!!

Sean is an excellent host who responded to my many queries, due to my sister getting ill, instantly and comprehensively. The room is really lovely and very quiet, in a great location, close to underground, shops and easy to find. I highly recommend this gorgeous place.

We had a lovely stay! Kaz is a wonderful host and gave us a lot of tips of the surronding area and of Kyoto in general. The studio was very quiet, clean and comfortable. Short walks to different bus stations. The shrine directly in front is very nice and in the top you have a beautiful view of the city. The onsen nearby was a great plus. The wifi connection was amazing and the fact that he provided us with a portable one made our trip so much better! Perfect stay!!!

This was the perfect place for our family to stay in Kyoto. Noriko and her son were incredibly gracious hosts. They made check-in and check-out really easy, and we had great communication before and after our stay. The beds were comfortable and everything was clean. The location is ideal — in the middle of just about everything you want to do in Kyoto, and walking distance to a lot of shops and restaurants. I think my favorite thing was the cypress ofuro (bathtub) with digital temperature control — pure bliss!

It was a fabulous time staying at Koichi’s house! Koichi and his wife were very hospitable, introduced all the details of the house. We definitely will visit them again

Great place to stay. Very convinient location. Beatuiful decoration, super clean. Bedding are very comfortable. Would love to get extra pillows though. Host is friendly and very fast response. Flexibility of check in/out.
