Family-friendly vacation rentals in Kailua

Overall perfect for what we needed. It’s great for a family of four. The kids had their own space in the living room. The place is clean, well stocked with anything you could need. AC in both living room and bedroom kept things cool enough for the tropic location. We drove, but you could walk to the beach easily. Pools great. Back patio I sat outside in the grass every morning on one of the beach chairs. That area is a little cluttered but I get it cuz it’s used for beach storage. Beds were soft but comfy. Pillows good too. Only wished there were extension cords cuz plugs were farther away than cords. Water is DELICIOUS and plenty of ice made in ice maker. Foodland close by or the Ritz has a place for stuff. Front area you see plumerias and had lots of wonderful gecko sightings. Wasn’t loud above us at all. Neighbors next door lights were very bright at night if you ever went outside at night. All in all great place! It was amazing and host very attentive! If we come back: it’s here!

We loved staying at Owen's place. Location is very central and close to everything. Having a parking space was great and made our stay a lot easier. The apartment was very clean and comfortable. Owen is a great host, he was very helpful and very responsive. I recommend this place to everyone.

Tom’s place was very clean, spacious and had amazing views. You can walk to the beach within minutes and there’s plenty to do around the area, I wish we had more time to explore more!! Tom provides beach chairs, a cooler, toiletries, anything you need! :) the free parking space was incredibly useful for our car, especially in the area. No struggling with parking! Very responsive, very helpful! Definitely recommend this space !

We had a wonderful time at Murial’s villa. The villa is much more spacious, brighter, and more comfortable than it appears in the Airbnb photos — the pictures really don't do it justice! We didn’t feel rushed at all; it was perfectly relaxing to stay at Murial’s villa. Communication with Murial was excellent, and the instructions were very clear. We truly appreciate everything. An ideal place to stay for your first trip to Hawaii! The location is unbeatable! Perfect if you prefer not to rent a car. Surrounded by incredible restaurants and breathtaking views, it offers everything you need for a memorable getaway. Highly recommended!

Angie listing advertises a studio space that you can expect to see when you arrive. Aside from certain decor for listing photos, all of the amenities stated are present. Check-in was flexible - they made sure we would be able to check in earlier than they anticipated to accommodate our early flight in. The shower was very strong when we had first used it (like spraying hail) but the pressure had eventually reduced to a more tolerable pressure on its own on the second use. Elevator availability was a negative we experienced but out of Angie's control and a minor inconvenience. Location was great - a brief walk's distance to Waikiki. Parking at the building has changed to $33/night with their 1-5 overnight passes being made available. Local recommendations were given - definitely ask Angie about it in case you want to squeeze some recommendations into your itinerary. 10/10 for our purpose of a week in Honolulu, I would recommend to anyone looking for a place in Waikiki. My experience at Geoffrey’s was absolutely fantastic. The property was clean, beautifully maintained, and perfectly located. It offered a great mix of comfort and island charm — exactly what I was hoping for during my time in Oahu. The host was friendly, responsive, and provided clear check-in instructions. The amenities were exactly as described, and I especially appreciated the little touches like beach towels, beach chairs, local guidebooks, and a fully stocked kitchen. The location made it easy to explore nearby beaches, restaurants, and local attractions, yet it was quiet enough to relax and unwind at the end of the day. Highly recommend staying here if you're visiting Oahu. I’d definitely come back! Parking was definitely a plus !!!

“Just book it”. Amazing views of both, diamond head and the beach, just as seen in the pictures and descriptions. You can enjoy the views all day and night. The place is located right at the beach with private access and has basic beach needs provided. Lots of places to see, see and hangout step away from the location. Dedicated parking is a blessing. It has all the amenities needed for a vacation stay. The host was very responsive all throughout our stay and provided clear and timely instructions. I would gladly choose this place again and for an extended stay.

The Aloha Suite is a pleasant, comfortable, well-maintained, and secluded apartment within a quiet suburb-like area close to the Kailua town center. We enjoyed coffee on the lanai and appreciated the thoughtful provision of beach-going materials. The kitchen is nicely equipped for simple meals for two. Grocery stores and restaurants are within walking distance or a 2–3-minute drive. Noise from the construction equipment and dogs was minimal and did not detract from our enjoyment of the setting. We were comfortable without air conditioning but were out during the day when the apartment gets quite warm. Considering the apartment’s amenities, it was a very good value for the rental rate. Gabriele's list of environmental concerns was familiar. For perspective on government responses, check the Hawaii DBEBT, DES and Water Supply Board websites. Books in the apartment show you that battles over resources pre-date Europeans. Nowadays the solutions are not so brutal.

Our host Melissa was wonderful to work with and very responsive to communications from beginning to end. The location and home are beautiful and all pictures are accurate. The sunset views from the lanai are beautiful while you listen to the ocean waves. You are steps away from the beach. There were beach chairs for use, along with sand toys for children, and a wagon to carry your items to the beach. We had an amazing time. We look forward to another visit in the future.

We had a wonderful stay at this beachfront condo in Hauula! While the building itself is older, it’s clear that work is being done to improve it, and the unit itself is beautifully updated and a great size. As hosts ourselves, we were especially impressed by how well-equipped the condo is — it truly has everything you could possibly need. The location is unbeatable — right on a gorgeous beach that’s perfect for swimming and snorkeling (just don’t forget water shoes, as it gets rocky further out). The pool is a great bonus, and we really appreciated the well-maintained grassy area with plenty of loungers and tables for relaxing or playing games. We highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a peaceful and comfortable getaway right on the ocean.

The Villas at Ko'olina is our favorite place to stay on the island when we visit family. It's steps away from beautiful lagoons, and great pools, with live music in the evenings, walking distance to nearby shops. Very close to Costco, Safeway, Target, etc in Kapolei. The view from Tiffany's was amazing with beautiful sunsets. The kitchen was well stocked, and there were beach toys and chairs, boogie boards available. Would highly recommend staying there, and would love to stay again

The host provided some simple things that made my stay comfortable and convenient for a great stay while visiting. The place is central and within walking distance to convention center, Ala Mona shopping center and entrance to Waikiki.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Gina & Kim’s ocean-side villa, and it was truly one of the best Airbnb experiences I’ve ever had. After the hectic days in Silicon Valley, I was in dire need of a reset, and this retreat provided just that. The suite was incredibly clean, and while I never met the hosts in person, the communication was seamless, with clear instructions provided throughout my stay. The location was perfect for relaxation and rejuvenation. I was able to exercise outdoors, eat healthy meals, and enjoy the serene atmosphere without a care in the world. The villa itself was exactly as advertised, with beautiful views and easy access to the beach and pool. It was the ideal spot to unwind and enjoy nature. I truly appreciated the thoughtful amenities provided, which made my stay even more enjoyable. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway. I can't wait to return!

Phenomenal location off the Waikiki strip but still plenty to do with more accessible beaches and shops. Easy to park, great spot to grab some groceries and grill kabobs by the pool! Use the concierge to set up your beach cabana and just get to relaxing. Truly one of the best locations you can stay with exquisite accommodations. Of note: beds are f i r m, water pressure is plentiful, bedrooms are completely private from one another, seriously just bring your swimsuit and enjoy :)

I had the most wonderful first experience here in Oahu! Brenda’s place was literally in walking distance to everything. It is a small unit, but has everything you need and anything can be accessed in just a short walking distance! I would love to come again.

My family just returned from a truly wonderful vacation at the Hawaiian Princess. Mary’s place was perfect - very clean, cozy, and quiet. My husband is a go-go-go type of guy who has a hard time sitting still, and he said that this is the most relaxed he’s ever been. It’s not located in a walkable neighborhood, but after spending all day playing in the soft sand of the beach, relaxing in the jacuzzi, and napping between beach time, we were all ready to sleep once the sun went down. We happened to have big waves the entire time we were there due to NW winds, which meant no swimming out into the water for us, but my young kids had fun watching body surfers as well as playing in the swash. Mary was always quick to respond, which made our stay that much more pleasant and easy. We would love to come back for another stay!

The location was amazing! Short walk to the beach and close to lots of restaurants. Parking was super good too because we got to travel the whole island and we didn’t have to worry about finding transportation. Overall a great relaxing stay!
