It is a very good cycling and hiking area. The Schoorlse dunes are 10 kilometers to the south and Den Helder 20 kilometers to the north. In the dunes between Sint Maartenszee and Callantsoog is the special Zwanenwater with its spoonbills. The bicycles that are there can be used. In Sint Maartensvlotbrug, there is a Spar and in Callantsoog an AH that is open 7 days a week until 10 p.m. In Sint Maartenszee, there is a laundromat if needed. Every Monday morning, there is a cozy flea market in the parking lot at playground De Goudvis. In the summer months, there is always a flea market somewhere on Saturday and Sunday.
