The best view from a house on a hillside! Renovated traditional Japanese house/132 ㎡, even 6 people can relax

IoannaRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
A spacious, light, dream home away from home! Take me back... Fukusukeya is the perfect mixture of Japanese tradition and innovation, created by the most welcoming, thoughtful, generous hosts. From the hallway, to the bathroom, to the kitchen, everything you need is waiting for you. I have never slept better than on the futons in the beautiful tatami room – and the armchair in the living room is so cozy it feels like you are being hugged by Totoro. Located a peaceful neighbourhood and surrounded by nature, the house enjoys huge views out to the mountains from the many windows – as well as a zen garden just for you. Everything you could possibly wish to visit in lovely Hida Takayama is just steps away too. I could not recommend this home more highly – or be more grateful to Ryohei for his kindness and hospitality. If you are fortunate enough to have the opportunity to stay in this delightful home, I cannot imagine you will have anything other than a magical time!

Love host. Fumi was very helpful and an excellent host! The room had a little "Balcony" where I loved the view to the garden. I loved the location close to the forest - it gave the ultimate Takayama experience. I will recommend this place if you ant to experience authentic Japan. Arigato!

Tanekura Inn. 1 group relaxing stay with breakfast

KevinRating, 5 stars1 day ago
I had a wonderful stay with Shinji! The idyllic scenery was truly enhanced by the hospitality and intimate kindness extended by Shinji and his team. The activities throughout the trip, from herb picking to cooking around a traditional irori gave my family and friends an unforgettable and quintessentially Japanese experience. I highly recommend a stay - my review only echoes what is well attested to - that this is truly a gem worth going out of the way to book!
