This 400-year-old lakeside house is a true step back in time, offering breathtaking views of Lake Maggiore. Spacious, impeccably clean, and full of charm, it fully lived up to expectations. The patio, right on the water, was an absolute highlight - we spent hours soaking in the stunning lake view, watching the distant lights of surrounding communities shimmer at night while sipping wine. Ambra is an exceptional host, providing detailed and timely guidance on the island, ferry schedules, free parking, and dining options. Despite our delayed arrival due to traffic, she graciously waited on the island to personally welcome us. The island itself is small yet enchanting, with plenty of restaurants and an ideal location for visiting the magnificent palaces and gardens of Isola Bella and Isola Madre. After the final ferry departs at 7 p.m., it feels as though you have the island entirely to yourself - a truly enjoyable experience.

Small apartment very nicely decorated for 2 or 3 people (1 sofa bed on the ground floor and 1 bedroom on the first floor) with lake view from a small balcony. A bathroom on each floor, a kitchenette, a living room with a large sofa and a dining table. A peaceful haven to spend two or three nights (or more), the island being very quiet in the evening after the waves of tourists have left. Stresa is 5 minutes by boat, the starting point for all lake destinations, with the purchase of a ticket for each crossing (about €3.50). The visit of the other two Borromean islands is feasible from Isola Bella, with a day package for boat connections (count a day of visit). Very professional welcome from Francesca, who will give you a discount card for tours and restaurants on 3 islands.

Superb location on the upper island (isola superiore, or isola de pescatori). With the second floor of a small house. Exceptional view from three angles, on Lake Maggiore. Tasteful decoration.

Amazing location! The island gets busy during the day, but is incredibly peaceful post 630pm (in May). Loved it
