Close to nature & stylish living in the old farmhouse

The apartment is in the small district of Karsau, which belongs to Rheinfelden (Baden). In an almost 200-year-old farmhouse overlooking our farm animals (horses/sheep/cat/dog/chickens) you can relax wonderfully. Basel can be reached in 20 minutes by car/train. Beuggen train station is within walking distance (1.5 km). Right next door is a children's playground and the forest with beautiful walking and cycling trails is a few minutes' walk away. The old dye works, a factory from the 19th century. century, was expanded for mixed use. In addition to apartments, workshops and a doctor's office, guest rooms were created under the shed roofs of the factory halls. It was important to us to give the old building fabric a new use and to make it tangible. We were able to completely preserve the building shell and reuse renewed components in a different context. New components were left natural.

The bright, quiet studio (about 25 sqm), oriented for 1-2 people, has sophisticated amenities. It is located in a south-facing slope overlooking a garden, forest and meadows. The private access to the studio is through 13 outside stairs through the garden. The studio also has a small garden terrace facing west, with awning and seating. Parking is right by the house. The hosts, with their two cats, Maya and Negrita live in the house .
