I have lived in Iga Ueno for a few years. Growing up in a residential area, living in a castle town was a new experience for me. This land with its old-fashioned townscape and famous water is hot in summer and cold in winter. But that's why the rice, vegetables, and meat are also delicious. There are many areas where nature remains, but few areas where the old townscape remains intact. I want to preserve this townscape. To that end, I want many people to experience a nostalgic way of life and culture. As such a place, we fully renovated an old house left by our ancestors and opened it as a guest house with the name of the defunct soy sauce shop, "Daiji". Please come and stay in our guest house with tatami mat flooring. Stay in a beautifully renovated traditional Japanese wooden house with tatami flooring and futons, plus modern facilities for self-catering, within easy reach of Kyoto and Osaka airports.

NISHIMURA-TEI Hanare - Kitchen & Dining

Nishimura Residence is an old-fashioned Nara-machiya that has been standing on a piece of Nara-machi for more than 100 years. I was a “grandmother” for a long time when I was a child. In Nara Town, there is a pleasant despicable feeling that never changes. "I want to be filled with this pleasant contempt even for future generations." With that in mind, I took care of the empty Nishimura Residence. - Nishimura-Tei is originally a traditional Japanese house which has been here in Nara-machi town over 100 years, where my grandmother used to live in. My mother and I decided to renovate this house to preserve and pass down the virtue of good old days in Japan to the next generation as well as to show it to you.

Wheelers Den is a cosy and quiet self contained house in a lovely rural village. Ideal as a base for experiencing authentic village life and exploring Nara, Wazuka and southern Kyoto. Amazing cycling, hiking, temples, 700 year old stone carvings, tea plantations, rice fields and mountains all close. Free rental bikes available. By train Nara is 15 minutes. Iga ninja museum and castle 35 mins. Kyoto 57 mins. Osaka 50 mins. Free parking for one car. A great place for a unique experience of Japan.

I am an Artist / Photographer born in Kyoto I started hosting because I love meeting people from all over the world and making new friends. This place used to be one big guesthouse, but during Covid19, I have stopped running the guesthouse and I moved in with my wife and 2 kids. Still I didn't want to give up so I left the good parts. Private cypress bath and renovated rooms and made another entrance for the Guests. So now it is 2 separate house Please check the house rules before you book.

Our house provide Two bed rooms, And those have three double beds. Two toilets. 1 bathroom with big bathtub. Strong shower, dryer , amenities are prepared. Guidance movies from the nearest convenience store to the house is provided. I will give you the link of it after the reservation is confirmed. Don t worry about the access.

HAT National Park, experience traditional house

The surroundings are full of nature, and if you are lucky, you can see animals such as wild deer, boars and squirrels. In addition to burning charcoal in the fireplace and enjoying the burning fire, you can enjoy the following as fireplace dishes. (We prepare 1 box of charcoal. Please prepare your food.) ・Hot pot dishes using an iron pot ・Grilled fish using long bamboo skewers ・Roasted sweet potato ・Grilled meat dishes using iron pan ・Grilled rice balls using a net.
