Family-friendly vacation rentals in Huacas

This is such an amazing house in the Potrero area. Just a quick drive up the hill from downtown, easy access to restaurants in the beach. The caretakers went above and beyond to make our stay special, and the hosts were really responsive when needed. As other reviewers have said the pictures don’t nearly capture how wonderful the view is from the property. We were surprised by the overall size in space in the house, it was much larger than we anticipated but very nice to have all of the room. I would recommend this property for an upscale getaway to anyone.

Great location, our only wish is that the property would have an elevator. Everything about this condo was exactly as listed, great private beach to anyone that finds this place.

Beautiful Condo. Amazing 5th floor view from the patio and master bedroom. Large living/dining room and the kitchen is fully equipped. Both bedrooms are large with lots of closet space. Great to have access to a washer/dryer. Huge pool and the condo is right across the street from a resort with beach access. Very close to plenty of restaurants. Convenience near by. We did have difficulty utilizing the safe as the key/lock seemed worn out.

Our family absolutely loved our stay! The bedrooms were comfortable and we had plenty of room to spread out. The view from the pool was breathtaking! Lisa was super responsive and made us feel like welcomed guests as she gave us a personal tour of the house. We highly recommend renting with the Garrett group!

The villa is really well equipped, it has all the amenities to spend a few quiet and relaxing days!

My wife and I stayed 2 nights at Ilyas place. We had asked Ilya for recommendations of places to eat and see while we were there and he sent over detailed messages of places around the area. He provided us a thorough walkthrough of the condo and the property. Made us feel right at home. We will definitely stay here again if we find ourselves back in Coco

Special Places was WONDERFUL. They contacted us at check-in with clear, concise instructions. In a place that doesn't really have street names and directions are similar to "turn left at the mermaid statue", Special Places found a way to give us directions to where we needed to be in order to check-in easily. The condo is located in Pacifico, which is a fabulous resort with every amenity you could hope for. The pools (and there are many!) were relaxing, clean and easily accessible. Walking to a myriad of restaurants and even a (VERY Americanized) grocery store is a snap. The beach is beautiful for both those that love to play in it and those that love to look at it. :D The hosts were very attentive and checked in on a regular basis to ensure all our needs were met. Absolutely five star location, condo and resort. So many amenities and attention to details at the condo. We were a family of four with grandparents joining and the condo was the perfect fit! We were all drawn to the wrap around porch and hammocks instantly. As other reviewers stated Andreina is super sweet and helpful. We were able to explore the resort and take advantage of the pool as well as several private beaches within the property. I would highly recommend going to a grocery store on the way in or having them delivered upon arrival. The kitchen was so well stocked we ate almost every meal at the condo for the week we were there. On our last day the howler monkeys came right to the the trees across from the condo to wish us fare well! What an unforgettable trip! Hope to one day be lucky enough to return!

Cabinas El Ceibo was a great place for our family group of seven (all adults) to stay--close to the beach, a kitchen to be able to make food, and our own space to be together. The kitchen had a blender, which we loved, as we bought fruit and made our own smoothies several times. It also had other necessary items (frying pans, spatulas, salt & pepper) to be able to cook breakfast. A sharper knife to cut fruit would have been nice, but we made do with the dull ones. The house is one of several in a small area with a gate that leads directly to the beach. Attached to the washer is a spinner to remove excess water before hanging clothes on the lines next to the house. Very convenient. The Spanish-speaking family (& friendly dog) that lives next door takes care of the place and gives you the keys when you check in. The monkeys throw mangos on the roof early in the morning. Startling the first time. Also, we left shoes on the beach without someone watching them and two pair went missing.

What a spot for a vacation! The location was prime and the room itself was well suited for everything you need. This is a hidden gem in the area. Things I appreciated the most: The ocean was steps away for a swim at anytime. The shop keepers and restaurant owners downstairs are great people and pleasant to talk to during your stay. Waffle monkey (breakfast) and Portofino are the best spots for breakfast, fresh seafood, low cost happy hours, and fire show at night during sunset. You can literally walk anywhere in minutes. There is 3 separate door with locks to get to your top floor rental so this spot is very safe! If you are lucky, you'll notice a 5 foot iguana that rests in the trees to your right off the porch, spending days in the trees. Alvaro is the mgmt person who helps you. He speaks great English and responds rapidly to questions. Can't wait to return and bring family. The two units next to each other would be an ideal joint rental for a group of 5-7 people. Highly recommend!!!

Awesome place to stay! Beautiful view! A short walk to the beach and some local shops - it is a steep hill, but there are stairs. Staff and other guests were extremely helpful and friendly. There was more than enough room for our family of four. When we needed assistance with an air conditioner, Floribeth was quick to respond, and had a repair person there in no time - problem fixed immediately. We were not planning on returning to Costa Rica, but after our stay, we fell in love with the area and people, and can't wait to return. Floribeth gave us precise directions, found it right away. You will not want to leave here. Thank you Floribeth!!

Had a great stay! The home was very welcoming to my family. We have 2 kids aged 6 and 8 that enjoyed running around the property and interacting with nature. My wife and I loved the views from the property and close to Tamarindo Beach. Lots to do and see. Will definitely be back and highly recommend for families that want a more intimate and authentic stay.

We loved this place! The views are stunning! I could sit on the decks for hours just staring at the view and listening to the waves. We made a big breakfast and ate it on the deck one morning…breath taking.. You even have a view while showering in the master bath! The best beaches are within minutes- Playa Flamingo & Playa Conchal. I ran to Playa Flamingo beach in 10 minutes. The sunsets from Playa Flamingo beach were amazing! The infinity pool was fantastic to come home to at the end of a long day out. I wouldn’t hesitate booking this place again.

Lovely home near one of the best beaches in the country! We were very comfortable during our 6 day stay, with 5 adults moving around, and felt very safe. Hosts were extremely kind and communicative, answering any questions we had about activities or eating recommendations. We loved sitting outside by the pool every morning and listening to the howler monkeys and watching the iguanas. Best trip we've taken and the memories we made we will cherish forever!

Brandon’s place was exceptionally beautiful. Our family really enjoyed our stay. The pool table got a lot of use! The views from the balcony were stunning. I would argue that these were the best sunset views in the entire town! The front balcony offered sunrise views as well! We spent most of our time on the rear balcony, enjoying those views. It was clean, easy self check in and the property manager Allen was very responsive and helpful in setting up excursions! We wished we could have stayed another week! 100% recommended to visit this place, the pool is very nice. The only criticism is that it would be good to put an air conditioner in the living room and kitchen. But an excellent location, everything is very clean and nice. Julie is an excellent host, very attentive.

Overall great stay got to see a ton of wildlife live like monkeys, lizards,bats and birds. I understand location on Airbnb is an estimate so it should the beach closer walking distance than it was. Very buggy if u do like insect be cautious. But great area for food and surfing.

We had an amazing stay at Reserva Conchal! The condo well very well stocked and the A/C felt great with temps in the 90’s all week. We enjoyed breakfast on the deck with amazing views each morning. To our surprise, the Beach Club and beach were not busy. Kids enjoyed swimming at the pool by our condo in the evening as well. The ocean was calm in this area - great for our younger children. There are 2 bedrooms on the main floor (each with their own bathroom) and another bed/bath on the upper floor. The layout was great to give everybody some space. We saw lots of iguanas, birds, and monkeys while walking around the property. The condo near the entrance to the complex and ~8-10min drive to Beach Club. There are plenty of restaurants that we enjoyed in nearby Brasilito and Playa Flamingo (10-15min drive). The management company was highly responsive via What’s App and we didn’t have any issues with check-in or communications. I would highly recommend this condo to anybody!

The place was comfortable, had a great view of the ocean and short walk to the beach. Short walk to restaurant. Quiet peaceful beach for early morning and evening walks.
