The name "Ootan" we wanted to create an inn where you can encounter landscapes, air, people, words, and stories you have never encountered before. "Kyoto's Inn Kansuke" is a 1-building rental townhouse located 5 minutes on foot from Keihan Kiyomizu-gojo Station.

Our inn was apparently built in the early Showa period. We have renovated the bathroom and kitchen areas to make your stay more comfortable while still retaining the charm of the townhouse, such as the low ceilings and narrow, steep stairs. Why not try experiencing a bit of Kyoto life? Please note that we will charge a local accommodation tax (200 yen per person per night) in addition to the accommodation fee. The tax fee will increase to 400 yen from March 1, 2026.

Loft on top of a machiya

This is a unique loft space on top of a rare 3 floors machiya located on the central island of Kyoto. On the top floor of HASU former ryokan, we have designed an ensuite appartement with 2 rooms that are like 2 small houses. One room is located on the East side, and the other on the West side, they both have their own shower. The house was renovated in 2020 in order to offer an authentic experience in an ancient ryokan, with a contemporary comfort.
