Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Hardangerfjord

The perfect place to stay! Maria and Jarle are delightful, friendly hosts. Their place was cozy, clean, and accommodated our large party of 10 with ease. There is a lot to do from the Airbnb - they have kayaks, paddle boards, a motor boat, a trampoline, a hot tub, games, and the most beautiful, peaceful surroundings! Their information binder was so helpful with clear info about the area and nearby hikes/activities as well as instructions for the Airbnb. We wished we had stayed another day or two!

We agreed that on our 3-week trip to Norway, Marta's accommodation was clearly the most beautiful. As other guests have already written, the view from the apartment of the fjord and the glacier was breathtaking and even more beautiful than in the photos. Marta was a very nice and very accommodating host. The furnishings in the apartment and kitchen left nothing to be desired. And also for my wife, who unfortunately became ill shortly before, there could not have been a better place, as there were enough retreat options and she could recover quickly. Our son also loved the space and toys in the apartment. The area in Hardanger is incredibly beautiful anyway and from there you can reach an incredible amount of beautiful nature within 45 minutes. We would come back any time and thank Marta and her husband Mekjell very much for their hospitality.

Rosendal, the nature, the mountains, the culture, the weather. Everything was wonderful. Tinghuset, the hosts Anita and Dag and the swimming area as well. We had a wonderful long weekend and missed nothing. We gladly came back...

The location is perfect - you definitely want to stay here instead of downtown/by Bryggen. Way less touristy - nice to stroll the streets and admire the beautiful houses, but still easy to walk to key destinations. The downstairs bedroom and 2nd floor with kitchen and living room are awesome. Only downside is the 2nd bedroom on the top floor is pretty hot (if the weather happens to be warm) and you have to walk down 2 flights of narrow steps if you need to use the bathroom. But would highly recommend if you only need the 1 bedroom. Super easy self check-in too. Thank you!

Definitely one of my most beautiful homes rented on Airbnb. The house is decorated with care, feet in the water, calm, the kindness of Torstein and Ida. We are the opposite of anonymous lockboxes that are multiplying everywhere. I would recommend it 100%

The house is very modernly renovated and beautifully and stylishly furnished. We felt comfortable there. The bed was super comfortable, we slept wonderfully. The lakeside location was super quiet and perfect for switching off. We liked it there, but the house could use a little love in one place or another. Communication with Benjamin was great and he responded quickly to any questions.

I am convinced this is the best cabin in all of the fjords! The location simply cannot be beat and the cabin was so thoughtfully built and furnished. I traveled here with my husband and two children (6 & 8) and it was the perfect size. Everything you need for cooking in the kitchen. We opted to use the boat one day and are so glad we did. It allowed us to see the fjords in a unique and personal way. Amazing memories getting up close with nature. There isn’t a single thing I would change about this place. We met the owner and his son who were very courteous. The owner gave us the recommendation to drive the snow road which we did - it had only recently opened. We were so grateful for the recommendation. Book it, you won’t regret it.

Great stay, very kind and responsive hosts. They even moved our hanging laundry under the porch when it started rain and we had gone into Bergen.

We were 8 adults who have had a great stay in a rich basement apartment with an incredibly nice view. Short distance to Røldalterasse and the ski resort. Easter 2025 will be remembered as memorable and fun. Espen as a host has to be experienced. He just wanted the best for us. Very good communication. Would love to come back.

We had a wonderful stay here. We were in town to hike Trolltunga and this place was conveniently located right at the turn off the main street towards the trailhead, about 13 minutes. The host was very communicative and responsive and had local recommendations for us. Everything was great and we would stay here again. Thank you!

Gunlaug‘s place is super cozy with everything you need! It has super beautiful view outside the window. We would love to stay a bit longer but got other plans. Gunlaug is super friendly and helpful! Definitely recommend it!

WOW WOW WOW. I can't even believe we got to stay here. What a privilege! It looks even better than the pictures. The view is unbeatable. Marit was kind and warm, available but not overbearing. I mentioned we were doing the sauna in Aurland (recommend!! Aurland, not Flåm!) and she left towels out for us. messaged to ask how the trip was going and if we needed a shoe dryer. This Airbnb is everything an Airbnb should be and more, Marit is everything an Airbnb host should be and more! Thank you, Marit, for a fantastic stay. Tusen takk!!!

The star of the show is the location. I dare to say: one of the most beautiful fjords we’ve seen. Maybe even one of the most beautiful spots we’ve ever seen. The town feels like time stood still and you have the fjord to yourself. The apartment was very clean and comfortable. I would 100% recommend to stay here to check out the Geilo area.

The place is beautifully located, with a spectacular view on the fjord. The apartment is very nice, well maintained and super clean. We had everything we needed, the only suggestion is to include an hairdryer if possible. The hosts were very responsive and helpful. We enjoyed a lot our stay! Thank you :)

We had a really wonderful stay at Evelyns and Kristians apartment! We loved it a lot and directly felt like home. Everything was super clean and beautiful. The photos can’t capture the beauty that’s right outside your window when you stay here! The space itself was beautiful. Anna was so thoughtful and kind and made great recommendations while not being intrusive at all. Just the absolute best and definitely a highlight of our Scandinavian tour! You can walk up to the waterfall you can see right out the back door and I highly recommend doing so! There are so many places around the area to see and so many tours out of Flam. I recommend the floating sauna experience. This was the perfect countryside break after visiting Scandinavian cities. Loved it!

Fantastic location, just a short walk to restaurants, attractions, and grocery stores. The living room and kitchen get beautiful sunlight after midday, which warms the space and makes it feel extra special, especially with the charming little balcony. Despite being so close to the city’s highlights, the apartment is tucked away in a peaceful, quiet spot that feels very private. Mathilde was incredibly responsive from the beginning, went above and beyond to accommodate our additional requests, and truly helped make our stay in beautiful Bergen as a family of four smooth and memorable.

This is a beautiful small apartment that is perfect for 1-2 people. It was spotless and well equipped. The location was perfect. Everything you could need is close by and the parking garage we used was behind the apartment and easy to access. Great experience.

A very nice surprise! Staying for one night, we loved it. The accommodation is nickel and very clean. It was as described and offered several amenities. Warm and friendly welcome. The exchange went very well, the person is responsive and available in the event of any problems. I recommend this place if you pass by. And I assure you that a very nice surprise awaits you when you arrive.

Lovely place and gracious knowledgeable host, who gave us a lot of amazing recommendations for all of Norway. The place is right next to the Trolltunga road entrance and has all the amenities a hiker would need. Placed a few minutes drive from the main town of Odda, which has a few great eats and clothing stores that are open late. The place is a bit difficult to find if you’re not accustomed to small town one way driving but follow the directions as listed and you will find the place just fine. For my American friends the rubbish bins are a true walk away from the house on the road leading up to the house, in a fenced off communal trash bin area Highly recommend staying here for those who are hiking area.
