La case de Saline is a typical Creole wooden hut, 150 years old, nestled in the countryside, in a rural setting. Near the salines and 500 meters from the beach, you have a jacuzzi under the palm trees. . you can prepare your breakfast in the room (coffee maker, kettle). the hut is not equipped with a kitchen, but you can plan a cold meal or order a pizza for lunch or dinner. dishes are available.
“The stay in the Case de Saline was absolutely perfect. The pics and description don't sufficiently convey what a magical place this is. The tropical garden and the area around the Case make you feel like a local. Inside, the Case is luminous, comfortable, a trove of books gives it a nice touch. Fridge and AC work perfectly. The location is fantastic. Saline beach is easily reachable- a 15' flat walk; the beach is reputed one if not the best in SBH. There are three Gourmet restos a few mts away. From the Case I walked to L'Orient's supermarket, the St Jean's splendid Eden Rock, to Gustavia and to Toiny. There are some uphill patches but I'm a 70 y.o. slim though not an athlete and all was quite doable. A word on the hosts: they are super charming and went out of their way to accommodate us when my 43 y.o. son decided at the last minute to join me for a few days. SBH is very hilly so if you wish to visit the various beaches a car is mandatory. But if you are a walker you'll have plenty to do. I stayed 8 days and enjoyed each one of them. Plan to go back to the Case next year.”
A covered terrace with a nautical feel is literally 'in the harbor'. Guests can dine and relax while watching the yachts glide into port. The contemporary decor is carried through to the European-styled . The bedrooms are privately situated into the tri-level configuration; one up, and on down, from the living area. This is a perfect spot for Gustavia lovers and a convenient walk to its restaurants, boutiques - and to the ever-popular Shell Beach.
“Sandrine and Philippe’s apartment is a gem of comfort, modern design and sophistication. The apartment gives you the impression of being on board your own private yacht anchored in the magnificent port of Gustavia. The hosts are attentive, generous, kind, and very friendly. Everything is within walking distance, whatever your interest or budget (shops, grocery stores, restaurants, caterer, pharmacy, post office, Anglican church, boat rental, ferries…). The bedrooms, bathrooms and very well-equipped kitchen are spacious and clean, all with beautiful, functional and clever design, again with a nod to nautical practicality. The upstairs shower feels luxurious as you step down from the main bath into a concrete spa area. There is a long built-in sofa in the living area that is made for lounging. Even with the festivities around New Year’s celebrations, the apartment is designed for a quiet and totally dark night of sleep in the upstairs bedroom, and we slept soundly every night. There is ample closed storage everywhere, making the space easy to keep looking tidy. Although the streets are narrow and we were warned about the challenge of parking in Gustavia, we found parking easily on the street close to the apartment, at all times (we had rented a Mini Cooper which seems to have been designed for the winding and narrow roads of St. Barth). We felt privileged to be able to spend a dream week in St. Barth in this unique, well-designed space. We left the apartment with regret and longing, promising to return soon.”
ETOILE DU NORD is located opposite Flamand Beach, from which you can enjoy the exceptional view from every corner of the villa modern, functional, it is ideal for a couple or a family with large children who will appreciate the independence of the second bedroom located on the lower level. You just have to cross the road to access the beach, whether for an early morning bath in the rising sun, a lazy day, or an evening stroll along the bay.
“Second year that we come to this house, you can guess why .... Ideally located, very clean, quiet, view of the bay with a beach common to that of the hotel du cheval blanc (compare hotel rate with house rate, it's a gift !!!) all for a budget when you know the prices of the island, very controlled. Thanks again to Mélodie and Solare for allowing us to come and relax on this paradise island.”
