On top of a small hill (Red Mountain) 5 min from Ozurgeti, with a rivulet Kikvata passing through the yard, surrounded by hazelnut and tea plantation and bamboo trees there is our wooden historical house with a view of Gomis Mta (South Caucasus Mountains dividing Guria & Achara). Western Region Guria is famous for character and liveliness of our people, distinct and diverse subtropical nature, and we will try our best to share this through our hospitality, and homemade goods.
“"Like visiting the Garden of Eden--with a Gurian twist"--is the only way to describe the experience of a sojourn at Mariam, Lika and Meri's gorgeously preserved "Komli" ("household") in western Georgia. The adventure begins with the realization that the road leading to the property is not on Google Maps. Instead, you need to do a bit of sleuthing to find your way there--all totally worth it once you come around the bend and realize you've arrived in a kind of hidden paradise. Things of all kinds want to grow in Guria, and this fervent florescence, this sprouting and flourishing of diverse plants and crops of all kinds is immediately apparent the moment you arrive. Watermelons and walnuts, pumpkins and persimmons--to say nothing of grapes and tea--are happily growing here. Lika greeted us at the gate and introduced us to the "Komli", a traditional Gurian wooden oda house, rebuilt by her grandfather and updated with great care. The loving way in which this historic home has been tastefully preserved while being brought into the present makes the opportunity of spending the night there something you will always treasure. Throughout our stay, Lika's warmth, the way she shared her personal relation to the home, family history, and the connection to the region ("Guria is the best!") heightened our appreciation for our being in this place. I will refrain here from expounding on the gustatory aspect of our experience--first, because this would constitute an entire separate chapter, and second, because you really must experience it for yourself! In sum: the Komli is a world-class jewel of cultural tourism, absolutely not to be missed!”
How many times have you dreamed of being in a fairy-tale place like you have seen in advertising clips only? Perhaps many times. I know that you think that such a paradise is far from you and it is expensive and inaccessible. However, you don't have to go through so much, you can find the fairy-tale place on the coast of the Black Sea, in Guria.
“We are highly recommending this incredibly beautiful and calm place. The house is lovely and especially the garden with its hangmats is a great place to relax. The house is located right next to the beach. Also the area is fantastic - we didn't see any big hotel with too many people. Mamuka was always friendly and there to help if we had questions or problems. Only the house could be a bit better equipped for cooking (f.ex. pepper, herbes, oil,...), that's all. Great place, we will come back :)”
Bright and cozy apartment near the sea. There is everything necessary for a comfortable stay. Air conditioning, WiFi, plasma TV, washing machine, spacious kitchen with all accessories.
“Superr hosts! Beautiful, clean apartment, everything is thought out to the smallest detail, I especially liked my own umbrella for the beach. Convenience and comfort. Beach across the street. The hosts, responsive, responsible and caring, accepted us earlier than the indicated Check-in time and later than the Check-out time. The apartment is ideal for holidays with the whole family. The apartment has become part of a wonderful holiday when we return to Kobuleti, return only to the apartment of Nona and Arthur!”
