Cottage vacation rentals in Gruene, New Braunfels

Cute little cottage with a ton of amenities right outside of downtown Wimberley. The location is great because it’s quiet but close enough for a 3 minute trip down the road to restaurants and shops. I’d recommend cabin 1/white because your porch with hot tub is very private. Everything was very clean and in excellent condition. I’d definitely stay here again.

We had a great time, Tom was quick to respond when we were booking, the place was great, brought our dogs and had a really nice time. Right on the water and we had fun fishing from the lower level of the yard. Great outdoor grill and dinning area. Would stay again. Location was great and very convenient to everything.

We absolutely loved our stay at Bungalow on the Square in Wimberley. We visit the area several times a year, but this was our first time staying right on the square—and we couldn’t have picked a better place. We had a great weeklong visit with family here and were very comfortable throughout. Joe recommended some local restaurants that we tried and were pleased with. We did some grocery shopping at Brookshires and made several meals in the cottage and were happy the kitchen had everything we needed to prepare and store our meals. The place was very clean and beds were nice. We would definitely visit again.

Such an amazing little gem tucked in the woods! My favorite part was that there were so many deer hanging around the area and it was so peaceful and serene. The lights that turn on at night outside make it seem like a place out of a movie scene. Very responsive and thoughtful hosts!

Luc is a very responsive and friendly host, even promptly answering messages sent extremely early in the morning. The home is very comfortable, spacious, and clean with a well appointed kitchen and rooms. The location is very private and peaceful with plenty of outdoor space to enjoy and still close enough to restaurants and all that Austin has to offer.

The cottage is just steps away from the river, which makes for a perfect morning walk and evening to unwind. The Jacuzzi bathtub is relaxing. We had a good time fishing.

We enjoyed staying in the cute little tiny house, perfect for two adults and our dog, we love that this place was dog friendly and so close to Pedernales Falls State Park! Our hosts were super friendly and attentive! We would definitely stay again!

My mother and I stayed overnight to attend a nearby concert. The place is gorgeous, you really CAN see for miles and miles! The bed was very comfortable. The house was well appointed. Both Kathy and Wayne were very responsive via text, call, and in person. I would definitely recommend and would stay at their property again the next time I'm in Dripping Springs!

We stayed here while in transition from selling a home out of state and buying one. We needed calm and peaceful surroundings, and Shelly's place did not disappoint! It was so restful and quiet, and the property was beautiful. We saw deer on several mornings, and Shelly's garden was magical at dusk. If you need a break from a fast paced life, this is your place!

Peggy and her bungalow were wonderful! She was a friendly and great communicator. Let us have super early check in. The place itself was so perfect and charming. They even left us a sweet personalized note on a pegboard sign! 10/10!

Everything was perfect! The location was just right. I loved sitting on the patio in the mornings, listening to the birds and watching the deer, hummingbirds, and squirrels play. We were only a few minutes away from everywhere we visited, but it felt private here while surrounded by trees and nature. Once you get into town, there's a lot of people and things going on, but Nanette's is a perfect retreat to enjoy peace and relaxation. Everything was clean and just a described. I definitely recommend this place for your next getaway. Places near by that we recommend: Wimberley Marketdays, Wimberley Valley Winery, Wimberley Cafe for breakfast, and Creekside for dinner and drinks. I'm so glad we found Nanette's getaway and hope to come stay here again. Thanks!

We had the absolute BEST experience staying at this perfect little cottage near Dripping Springs! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away. The home is small, but every inch of it is so thoughtfully designed and impeccably decorated — cozy, charming, and truly picture-perfect. It felt like stepping into a dream. The outdoor space was just as incredible — inviting, peaceful, and so comfortable that we honestly didn’t want to leave. We were supposed to be attending a retreat nearby, but we found ourselves wishing we could just stay at the cottage instead! The home was spotless, stocked with everything we needed, and the owner communicated flawlessly, making the whole process easy and welcoming. We can’t recommend this place enough and are already dreaming about coming back. It’s truly a hidden gem!

I had a wonderful week long stay in Wimberly and this house was a great home base. The house was very clean and comfortable. The owner had supplied water, snacks and coffee as a courtesy. The host was responsive, helpful and offered suggestions related to my interests. So much to do in Wimberley! Nearby State Parks, nature areas and parks have great hiking and views. Highly recommended!

Francisco and Alma’s place is a hidden gem in the hill country. The exterior of the property is beautiful and well-kept. I sat outside on the front porch every morning to have my coffee and was accompanied by the tranquil sounds of nature. The place itself is pretty spacious with updated appliances and a mostly equipped kitchens for cooking. A few more plates/bowls would be nice. The living room area is great for lounging and watching tv but the couches are quite small. Overall, my parents, pup, and I really enjoyed our stay here and will definitely be back the next time we’re in the area. Thank you Francisco and Alma for hosting us for our weekend getaway!
