Cottage vacation rentals in Grantown-on-Spey

We stayed here a few days in May. The Cottage is very remote, but you can reach the next village in arround 10 minutes by car. It offers great views of the surrounding area. the hot tub was amazing. Also the fireplace. we came to do some hikes and in the end decided to stay a whole day in the cottage, because it was so great.

Simpathetically converted malt house in a peaceful setting. Good sized house with absolutely brilliant garden that had plenty space for the dogs to run around. Comfy beds with fresh linen, towels, robes and slippers. Well stocked kitchen with thoughtful welcome gift. Cozy lounge with plenty logs for the burner. Great little study space for those that still have to do a bit of work. Hot tub clean with non-slip rubber mats around it. Unfortunately, more careful attention needed from cleaning team in places, which was disappointing - for the money, perfection expected. Warning for fellow townies - go less than walking pace along the track to prevent the underside of your car getting scraped, unless you drive a land rover. Also, the bins are located at the end of the road, so stinky rubbish needs to go in the car - too far to carry it. We're not precious about our car but our son flatly refused to take it in his new car!

Such a beautiful little get away with so many little hidden gems nearby! Was quiet 24/7 and we loved the peace and the amount of sun the garden and hot tub got. Such a cosy cottage and made us feel at home straight away, worth the drive! Thank you for a lovely stay ❤️

The house was wonderful - we were delighted with both the location and with the property. The house was immaculate, and beautifully furnished with some really lovely pictures and objects throughout. The rooms were all good-sized and bright with the kitchen/dining area overlooking the garden a real standout. It was very well maintained and it felt like a proper home from home. The location was really lovely too - nice and quiet with a very short walk to the beach. We particularly enjoyed our walks around the area and along to Chanonry Point to look for the dolphins. A local pub and a lovely restaurant were close by too which was a bonus! Our host, Eva, provided us with clear and concise information prior to our arrival and messaged us a couple of times during our stay to make sure that all was in order. This was very much appreciated. We would not hesitate to recommend the property to others, and we certainly plan to visit again!

We enjoyed a lovely stay at the house. Beautiful and serene surroundings. Was a great place to relax and unwind… Great day trips nearby. Would recommend you bring in all your provisions at the start of your stay and kitchen is fully equipped. Caroline was easy to contact and fast to respond. We chose to use the hot tub which was ready for us when we arrived and easy to operate. Our only wish was that had we known, it really should be drained & refilled after two days of use since there are no added chemicals (which is a plus) Overall a wonderful experience & would highly recommend

Beautiful location - clear directions supplied by the host. Local pub serving good food within a 5 minute walk. Cottage itself was clean & within a quiet location. There is a hot tub in a separate building available at an extra cost - was also clean, ready to use with a plentiful supply of towels . Would recommend for a couple looking for a weekend away interested in walking or exploring the surrounding areas

Truly “off grid” in the literal sense! It runs on batteries and a generator!! Despite it not having wifi we all had great 4G so never felt truly disconnected thankfully. It’s such a private place with literally nobody for a square mile or more probably. I would say in the winter you will need a 4x4 to access as it’s a mile down a dirt track! Amazing place and can’t wait to revisit :)

We stayed here on our trip to the Scottish highlands, a wonderful place with incredible hosts! I really cannot recommend this enough, everything worked, there’s a hot tub and a sauna right in front and a magnificent garden that the owners walked us through.

We stayed three nights at this cozy place with our dog and felt very comfortable during the time, the house was very tidy and it is located in an absolutely calm area. It is a perfect location to visit Cairngorms Nationalpark and Loch Ness and one day we even visited the eastern parts and saw puffins. Would definitely recommend this place for everyone travelling Scotland.

We stayed for 4 nights and highly recommend. The cottage is clean, cosy and comfortable and is kitted out with everything you’d need. It’s well placed for trips to Aviemore and Kingussie, we visited Loch Morlich and Loch Ness to name a few. Really brilliant decor throughout and the hosts have paid a lot of attention to detail. The bed is really comfy too. We were lucky enough to see a woodpecker among other birds at the feeder outside the window, as well as a red squirrel which we loved! We also had our dog with us and he enjoyed walking and sniffing nearby the cottage. Unfortunately we had quite a bit of rain during our stay but even that didn’t seem so bad because the sound of the rain on the roof somehow made us feel even more cosy. Absolutely can’t fault this beautiful cottage and would definitely recommend to anyone considering.

This is a very comfortable, clean, homely place. It is airy but cosy. Lovely, roomy bedrooms with very comfortable beds and pristine bedding. Close to everything in Cromarty. A really relaxing home from home. Thank you Veronica, for a wonderful weekend

This is our 4th visit to Railway cottage and it won’t be our last. It’s well placed for driving in to Aviemore, Newtonmore, Kincraig and Kingussie and there are walks you can do from the door. It’s a cosy and welcoming place to stay and very comfortable. There are lots of activities on the nearby estates including quad biking, horse riding, zip wires, canyoning, clay pigeon shooting and archery. Lots of good places to eat too.

If you’re looking for authentic, quirky, and charming—this is it. Puffin Cottage in Pennan is a special place where time slows down and the North Sea sings you to sleep. My son and I built a lifetime of memories—exploring, laughing, and settling in by the cozy fire. The cottage has everything you need, but it’s the character that shines. From low doorways to steep stairs, you quickly learn the old fishermen were built a bit smaller—one knock to the head and you’ll remember to duck. The neighbors are warm and kind. Fiona next door is a gifted photographer with an eye for the aurora. Shona at Coastal Cuppie is a sorceress in the kitchen—her scones are unforgettable. And Gayle, the owner, was wonderful—kind, responsive, and ensured we settled in without a hitch. If you’re lucky enough to stay here, you’ll fall in love with the sound of waves, the charm of the village, and the peaceful magic of Pennan. We can’t wait to return.

We had a wonderful stay at Bluefolds for my Dad's 70th. The view from the property is spectacular and ever changing, and you'd never get bored of that alone! Sue was a wonderful host, very welcoming and proactive. The accommodation has everything you could need for a stay there. Take your walking boots, make sure your pets are treated for ticks (as its on a sheep farm), and have an incredible time :)

What a lovely cottage! The bed is particularly comfy and Michelle has made a special effort with decor and details to make you feel at home and cosy. 5 Stars all the way. This is such a nice cottage. I booked it based on the reviews and it did not disappoint. Great location, super nice neighborhood, and the house has everything you will need including breakfast. Everything is so well done. Amazing place. Beautifully done inside and whisky theme to sitting room. Clean and well done inside and good amenities and great shower pressure. Really charming 2 story house and location is superb. Right opposite the Highlander pub, next to Craigellachie Hotel and steps away from the Speyside way. 3 of us came for a whisky trip, absolutely loved it and could walk to the corsage and distilleries. And… Michelle does whisky tours herself and they are an absolute must! Connoisseur walking tour of Dufftown was fantastic!

Wir hatten schöne vier Tage im Cottage. Es war sehr ruhig. Das Cottage war wie beschrieben. Sehr groß, sehr stilvoll eingerichtet. Abby hat schnell auf unsere Nachrichten reagiert. Ausflüge nach Cromarty (Black Isle), Dunrobin Castle plus Orte auf dem Weg (u. a. Dornoch Beach) und zur Ostküste (Ullapool) sind sehr empfehlenswert und mit dem Auto gut machbar.

The cottage is in a great spot in Ballater. We could start exploring the area right at our doorstep. The cottage provided plenty of space for the two of us and was well appointed. It was also very quiet. A lovely place in a lovely little town!

Wir haben sehr kurzfristig bei Annie & Simon gebucht und es funktionierte alles einwandfrei. Als wir ankamen wurden wir persönlich von Simon empfangen und er zeigte uns alles. Sehr sympathisch. Das Croft ist sehr schön eingerichtet und wir fühlten uns sofort wie Zuhause. Der umliegende Garten ist wunderschön und darf auch begangen werden. Die Unterkunft ist nur wenige Gehminuten vom Urquhart Castle entfernt mit Sicht auf das Loch Ness. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen.

Always adore staying at Owl Cottage. This trip was cut short due to poorly pooch but will definitely be back.

It's picture perfect settong. The farmhouse restaurant for breakfast and late afternoon goodies is excellent. The welcome pack provided was excellent.
