Vacation rentals with a fire pit in Gordon's Bay

We came with our 3 year old, 4 month old baby (and my mother also stayed with us) and the place was SO comfortable for all of us. I would have been happy if we stayed there our entire visit actually as we really had everything we needed. Kitchen crockery, cutlery, cookware and serving dishes were ample and varied. The dishwasher and washing machine worked well. There were little bins and laundry baskets in all the rooms and also more than enough plugs (which are small comforts airbnbs sometimes lack). Cupboard space is also very good. Beds and bedding were comfortable (although I prefer foam pillows). Marcy (their cleaner) was so playful with my son when she came in on our last day and Elaine and her husband were very warm people too when we met them at check-in and check-out so that also added to the experience. Basically, it is, in fact, as good as all the other reviews say ;)

Great accommodation. The place is beautiful. I would stay again anytime. Very responsive host. Walkable to Main Street restaurants and the grocery store.

This was such a memorable experience. Spotless, beautiful,modern and at a good location. Enjoyed the king size bed and coffee and all the amenities. Alines dad was friendly,responsive and availing. I love the interior furnishings specifically the bath and the quiet tranqulity of the home as well the close proximity to whale coast mall and the waterfront. I would recommend this place to others and it was a wonderful commemoration of my parent's 70th birthday. .

What a wonderful and beautiful stay. As a mid-week breakaway from daily routine, this was the perfect place to work remotely (with reliable, fast Wifi), whilst also being able to relax and regenerate (the views, location, relaxed atmosphere). Communication was also super thorough and I appreciated the warm and welcome approach. Thanks again for a lovely stay!

We were absolutely enchanted. Vanessa has great taste in decor. Lots of attention to detail. In addition, we were very warmly welcomed. The house is equipped with everything you need. We had a very nice week in Vanessa's beautiful house.

I had a wonderful restful and peaceful stay at Tara and James's cottage. The bed is comfortable with good linen and pillows. Tara was very attentive, responsive and proactive which I appreciated.

We loved our stay, a little retreat snuck away in nature, while still central and close to all amenities. The landscaping was done very inteligently, creating such good privacy to the main road, framing beautiful vistas from the lounge and main bedroom without a need for boundary walls. The social spaces are very well arranged and the games room upstairs is such an enjoyable space. We were all.enchanted by the semi private path to the beach over the bridge and through the vlei, with all the birds and insects. We were visited by an otter and there were two hadedas that slept every night on the roof ridge. There is no TV and the main room upstairs doesn't have a door, which might put some people off but we didn't mind. The house is very well-equipped and we were very comfortable. The outdoor shower is lovely and the social spaces are very well organized, especially the enclosed verandah, which is perfect for an afternoon nap or a lively family meal time around the braai. Wendy is warm, welcoming and professional. The unit is just as described (actually even better!). I booked Wendy’s home last minute for a little staycation with my 2 young children. Wendy was quick to respond which was great since it was so last minute. Prior to finalizing the booking Wendy was upfront and told me about her concerns and why the unit isn’t necessarily suitable for children. I really appreciated this and could make an informed decision based on the information provided. I went ahead and booked and it was really perfect for what we needed and the unit worked really well for us. My toddler loved the hot tub and I loved the thoughtfulness behind every single item left in the unit for us to enjoy. As a host myself Wendy definitely inspired me to do more and better for my future guests! Overall lovely experience.

Great experience. Good support from hosts. Clean and well-equipped. A bit off the beaten track, so a car is needed, but in a tranquil and safe part of Durbanville. Can recommend.

We stayed here for a chess Tournament at Hottentots Hollander high school. The home was perfectly located, just a 10 minute drive to the school and close to the beach, lots of restaurants and shopping centers. My wife and I worked during the week, there are plenty of work spaces, and high speed internet for video calls or for streaming Netflix, although the TV was also available for that. We did bring our own Rain router though and had perfect signal. The master bedroom had an en suite and the other bedroom had two beds with its own large bathroom. The aircon helped with the hot afternoons and we did make use of the kitchen area for cooking and the laundry area for a load. Jillian was a perfect host, anticipated our needs and communicated well. It was a pleasure staying here. Would do it again if we’re ever in Somerset in future.

Absolutely loved our stay in this beautiful Kalk Bay apartment! It’s spacious, stylishly furnished, filled with natural light, and offers stunning views of the harbour. The location is unbeatable—steps away from Olympia Café and Harbour House. The mattresses are incredibly comfortable, and it was the perfect spot for our wedding weekend—the bride even got ready here! We’ll definitely be back.

The perfect spot for our weekend in kalk bay. Easily walkable to the mountain and the ocean. Great restaurants, shops, book stores and art galleries. The hosts were friendly and helpful and also left us to our privacy. Would definitely stay again.

Words cannot describe the location of this property. Literally ON the beach with the most beautiful sunsets. Private and tranquil. Honestly just felt like heaven when on the deck by the pool looking out over this setting. A little jealous that I don’t get to live there. 😉 Absolutely stunning.

Our stay with Lisa & Ivan was very memorable! We loved the cosy tiny house, which had everything one needs for a great stay. Easy walkable access to the beach and the few restaurants in Scarborough was a big plus. The surroundings are breathtaking! Lisa was very helpful with questions we had. We are very glad we found this little place.

Thera was such a wonderful host, so friendly and helpful, and she made us feel so comfortable and at home in her beautiful garden cottage. The perfect place for a break from the city, Thera had put so much thought into making the space as relaxing as possible. Try and book on a rainy day, the sound of the rain on the roof was such a treat, and the cottage stayed warm and cosy.

We had such a lovely time! The place was incredibly clean and tidy, which made settling in so easy. We especially loved how peaceful and secluded it felt — the quiet surroundings were exactly what we needed to unwind. It was cosy and comfortable, just the way we enjoy our getaways. This spot is a perfect winter staycation, and we’d definitely book again!

Very nice place to stay. Maybe a warning that other people are on horses around the farm and the dam is not very accessible or easy to swim in.

We had a perfect stay at Debbie's Fish Eagle cottage. The cottage is beautifully appointed, clean and comfortable. The hot tub was a win. We loved being so deep in nature. The dam was perfect for us to paddle on. Debbie and James her assistant were friendly and helpful. It was a slice of heaven. Thankyou for the perfect getaway.

Bonnie and David were such lovely hosts. A very warm and friendly couple. It felt like a home away from home. The cabin was so cozy and don’t even get me started on the garden. Absolutely stunning! It felt as though we were out in nature. An absolute gem. Definitely a go to when in Somerset.
