Vacation rentals with outdoor seating in Golden Bay / Mohua

Ligar Bay is a fantastic spot, the changing tides provide so much diversity and interest - we kayaked, paddle boarded, walked and swam in the bay and at surrounding beaches and tracks. The house itself is very clean, with beautiful outlook and the garden is lovely. Furnishings and linen are very stylish and beds were comfortable. We found the lack of curtains/blinds a little challenging - there’s a skylight without a blind directly above master bed, one bedroom has no blind and the other had sheers, which provide privacy but no light. We love our sleep in holiday! We also missed having a dishwasher - some wouldn’t care. We appreciated all the pantry staples, great indoor and outdoor showers and water toys available for guests to use. A stunning place!

This is a fabulous, quiet location (but close to shops etc) for anyone wanting to visit Motueka or the lovely surrounding area. The property has heaps of added extras - we really appreciated having a fully functioning, well-appointed kitchen - plenty of lovely crockery, glasses, decent sized mugs!, pots, pans, mixing and serving bowls, utensils etc. Comfortable beds, lovely dining space plus relaxing lounge. The heat pump plus fire place were a real bonus as it was freezing cold outside during our visit. We are keen to stay again.

We had a great stay the house was warm and comfortable with everything we needed. Very peaceful with a lovely outlook. Had delicious pizzas from Al Forno. Appreciated the coffee and wine and a lovely welcome card.

fabulous location, so much to do and explore. Hiking along the beach to Collingwood and the Farewell Spit tour were amazing things to do. The home was private and the views of the estuary were always changing and beautiful. It was very windy a few days but it didn't curtail our activities. The home stays warm when sunny and there are a few sand flies that like to bite but again, nothing too annoying! A well equipped kitchen, great comfortable beds, and clean overall made it a very pleasant place to be. We would definitely stay again!

Best view and a fabulous place to stay especially for five people and a baby. Plenty of baby gear which made life easier for travelling. Hot Tub was awesome especially with the colder weather we had. I would highly recommend Costa Ruby, it's just beautiful!

The best family friendly holiday home we have been to so far. The view was stunning, the beach is right on your doorstep and is both beautiful and safe for children. The kayaks and hot outdoor shower were well utilised. Relaxed evenings spent on the expansive deck listening to the ocean. We will be returning as often as we can. Takaka hill is a difficult drive especially with children so I recommend staying a few days at least.

What a lovely little oasis! The space is clean, lovely and exactly what you need! Lots of walkable restaurants, and a serene getaway. Would highly recommend!!

An exceptional stay in a stunning location with breathtaking views. The hosts truly went above and beyond to make our visit incredibly comfortable and enjoyable. Highly recommended—we’re already looking forward to coming back!

Carolyn’s studio was perfect for our few days in Nelson. We loved the location tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Nelson, with a view to the coastline. Everything we needed and more was provided - especially the outdoor BBQ which was super handy for cooking up a few dinners! A very cosy and private space. Thank you Carolyn for being such a friendly and welcoming host!

lovely couple, approachable and when we crossed paths had a great chat. lovely place to relax... didn't feel the need to escape. Just chilled at the pad.

We loved staying at David’s place. Was a walk to everything we needed. Had an amazing outlook onto the water. And David and his family were so helpful. The kids loved the foosball table too. Highly recommended.

What an amazing place to stay. Dan made us feel at home right away and took us on a personal tour of his property. A fresh apple from the orchard on the way was delicious. The room was spotless and exactly as advertised. We will definitely be back for longer - one night is not enough
