Nishimura-Tei Hanare ― 100-year-old traditional house with kitchen & dining
Nishimura Residence is an old-fashioned Nara-machiya that has been standing on a piece of Nara-machi for more than 100 years. I was a “grandmother” for a long time when I was a child. In Nara Town, there is a pleasant despicable feeling that never changes. "I want to be filled with this pleasant contempt even for future generations." With that in mind, I took care of the empty Nishimura Residence. - Nishimura-Tei is originally a traditional Japanese house which has been here in Nara-machi town over 100 years, where my grandmother used to live in. My mother and I decided to renovate this house to preserve and pass down the virtue of good old days in Japan to the next generation as well as to show it to you.

Stay in a restored Japanese house surrounded by quiet mountains and historic villages. Cochi Stay is ideal for those who love architecture and nature. Ancient wooden temples are just 20 minutes away by car, and scenic terraced rice fields are within walking distance. Enjoy a private moss garden, modern kitchen, e-bike routes through old mountain paths, and station pickup. For stays of 3 nights or more, visit our office—a renovated farmhouse reflecting traditional craftsmanship and rural charm.

Modernist cabin in the midst of a sacred mountain
When travelling in India, I had a dream to open Koyasan’s first guesthouse. After 10 years of welcoming travellers from around the world, I wanted a new challenge and created SANRO, a beautiful little hideaway for your stay. With years of experience welcoming and providing tours for travellers, you don't even need to do advanced research about Koyasan. Feel free to leave everything to me–I am happy to help enrich your stay as your town concierge!
